I think Hohner has a hit there... Great sounds, and best of all in a price range that is affordable... Competition is good.. Maybe with that price, some of the other harp mic producers will take notice.. Thanks so much for the video, Ronnie....
Holy moly! Thanks for sharing your posts with us, I really enjoy listening to them and am curious to know if you have any plans to play Western Canada? You’d be a smash hit!
Sounds great Ronnie. They should only have you demo this mic. Some of the other guys don't have a tone but it's them not the mic. They seem like nice people and all but...
Ronnie that sounds great. Putting the Harp Blaster 52 on my wish list for Christmas. I also love the red woven cable. which one is that? I have looked for 1/4"TSR/XLR-F woven cables and can't find any. Thanks for your help.
Awsome sound like always. I'm gonna put you on the spot...but how would you compare this to the bulletini other than price. Also waiting for you to come down to Phoenix and give a class and hear you jam at the Rythym room
As I watch the video, I'm not noticing much volume change via the nob, but I'm definitely hearing that dirt level adjustment. Are you using some type of attenuation between the mic and amp, or is the "volume" nob really more of a "distortion" control? If it's the latter, I may be in love! Also, how sturdy is it? I finally gave up on the Hohner Blues Blaster after two replacements (under warranty) due to XLR jacks that kept coming out of the housing. Speaking not as an official Hohner endorser, but simply as a player on a budget, is this thing worth full price?
@@Harmonica123 With that in mind, how much do significant volume adjustments affect tone? In particular, are low volumes relatively clean with high volumes noticeably dirtier, or is it pretty consistently in the sweet spot across the board?
@@OmniphonProductions consistent across the board (which I like) with the exception super low to super high volume. at highest volume levels the speaker's character changes as it will with any mic.
How does it compare to mics with the Bulletini element.. I haven't heard them compared side-by-side but I believe the Hohner does not have quite as much thump..
I answered this above but he Bulletini has much more bottom end. The harp blaster has more mid range and snarl (first word that came to mind). HB has more mid range to it.
Hallo Ronnie, its very nice sound and very nice mic. I think, some basics for sound comes from the player. Is it possible for you to compare Jason Ricci Signature Microphone vs Hohner Harp Blaster HB 52 ? Greetings from germany !
What is the most responsive and easiest harmonica that you have played? Do you play out of the box harmonicas or custom built? I've played Lee Oskar harmonicas for probably 22-23 years but looking to branch out a bit. Thanks, Daniel Mabe
He has a video answering that somewhere on the channel. Just watched it yesterday. If I remember correctly he plays holes 1-3 and most bent notes puckered. Then 4-8 or so tongue blocked while playing as much as possible with TB for the sound.
@@maddom Thanks, man. I appreciated that. Ronnie has such an incredible tone, and my tone is so "weak" I would say. I'm trying to find better sounds, but as tongue blocking goes, I suck... Pun intended 😛
@@Harmonica123 Thanks, man. I'm trying, but when I see guys like you, I feel I still have a lot of mileage to go. I do try to lip purse with the harp as deep as possible, but it's a hard compromise. The deeper it gets, the slower my chops are, and then I get annoyed 🙄
@@joepinto8284 i'd have to hear each one and tell you everytime. I don't know many mics, but those that have that type of distorted sound I'm no fan of
Well a lot of the sound is what you do on the amp as well, check this vid using the same mic but with super clean sound ruclips.net/video/jQAaqOUIbUo/видео.html
once I get to Illinois, in early March, I can demo the mic through a big amp, my Fender Bassman

Bossy - and sweet - all at the same time. Cries really nice.
Oh yeah! Some sweet tones Ronnie. Too cool.
Thanks for the review. I have just ordered one, so I am sure I will now sound as good as you sir!
Man that sounded excellent!
oh my god, this sounds so good. very nice!!!

Sounds pretty fine and crunchy too me
has somewhat of a crystal style break up from what i can hear...nice man!!

that's actually a cheap one..go for a good one. I believe Stage5 is now making cables for these mics. I have one that he built and it's working well.
How do you compare it to crystal or ceramic mic ?

both are good but very different sounding mics. the Harp Blaster has more mid range and the bulletini has more bottom end.
low z 450 ohms need high for an amp ??
to hear me switch from an A to a C harp, head to 2:19

OmniphonProductions no i am plugged straight in. The vol knob works great, I just was simply adjusting it slightly. You can go as quiet as you’d like.

Hey Ronnie, what's the HB52 like when it comes to feedback? Similar to most other mics?
It's fairly feedback resistant. I'd rate it as average compared to other bullet mics.

Hohner Rocket and Crossover are great.
@@Harmonica123 Thank you I'll give them a try!
Do you have to have a specific cord to make that mic work? I bought a live wire XL3 cord and it’s not working 😭
balanced, stereo, 2 pin hot. just make sure that there are 2 rings around the tip of the quarter inch end not 1. I'm guessing your cable is mono.
That work thanks again I appreciate it...
How do you think this mic would sound thru a 10inch solid state amp speaker?
not sure but typically solid state is not the best choice for harmonica. tube amps are warmer.
forget the fact that you could play through a fisher price mic and make it sound good. :-)
Randy Landry yep
Mb deluxe key of A?
