She said something that is worth remembering. “She has been in church for years”. So yes, you can be in church and church not be in you. First and foremost! And because she has been provided a platform because of her singing abilities. She uses it whenever she feels like it. 🤷🏾♀️Wrong or Right.
You are absolutely correct. She has exploited her role in the church as a way to speak down to people and verbally punish them. Kim probably waited months for this interview just to use this as a tactic in a way that would disparage Yolanda Adams. But, look how God used it to expose Kim even more. God wants her to change her ways but she is resisting and it's gonna cost her.

To begin, I find the glasses to be a bit obnoxious, sadly, in many of these mega churches, there’s a spirit of self righteousness and because he/she was “chosen” by God to minister, they’ve taken on this god-like attitude. Many of them are mean spirited, say very hurtful things to their parishioners and expect to be respected, I find this behavior Abhorrent and unacceptable. I’m disappointed that there’s no apology, acknowledgement or accountability. Be mindful, there’s a lot of “spiritual narcissists”, stay clear, and form your own, personal relationship with God. The Bible talks about the importance of a humble spirit and ‘a haughty spirit before a downfall.’☮️

I have been reading that she is not a nice person & this is not the first time she has said something sideways.
As a artist Kim Burrell is one of my favorite singers. She's made so many mistakes and said so many things she had to turn around and apologize for, I personally believe she's a mean person. I've in church since I was 19, and I've learned that their are some people in the church who are just mean and nasty. I'm sincerely praying for her.

She saw that some pastors have more bling than her so she decided to become one. She probably had a couple of drinks (or snorts) before she spoke that day. She has as much of God's Word in her as my cat. I love Jesus. But it is because of people like her that I don't attend church regularly. Read the Bible for yourself and you will see that many pastors are not called by God.

I remember when she was on Sunday's Best and there was a contestant on there who was visibly upset with Kim. I'm not sure what she did, but she did not care for Kim at all. Kim said to her, "you don't like me do you"? And the young lady said, "no". The next season, Kim was gone. After that, Kim began to show her true colors to the public.

I helped my daughters attend and join a local black church here and receive salvation. The pastor began to talk poorly about young single mothers referring them to fast tail, wretched and my daughter and self left the church. No group of people should be kicked. It's about sharing the gospel of Christ and His grace for all.
TRUEST STORY EVER:
The same happened in a smaller church I attended years ago in Milledgeville, GA. The silly pastor basically said the same.
I KNEW he was going to regret his words.
A year later, at least 3 young ladies popped up preggers...deacons' daughters and all.
I felt pain just by watching.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
This was sad to watch. The one thing that's clear is that she is not remorseful. She said what she said. And she's convinced herself that it's in some way Godly.
Let me just commend Tamron for lending her platform to that person, but this was another opportunity wasted. Kim ain’t gon’ change.

It begs the question: Who do YOU consider to be the least of these? If we are to truly be ministers of reconcilliation as scripture dictates, then we can't have picks and choses. Being kind to any given person is not an endorsement or condemnation of anything they do. That's God's work- not ours. Our FIRST commandment is to "love one another as thyself". My first question as a Christian to anyone isn't "What have you done?" My first question is "Are you okay? Are you hungry? Are you naked? Do you need a ride?..." We believe so much in our own righteousness and that is socially and spiritually dangerous.

Tamron I must bow to you. I know this was a very hard interview with Kim Burrell. Watching from home you could feel the tension in the room and the stone wall Kim Burrell had up between you and the audience. Tamron you showed Kim Burrell nothing but grace and love. Kim Burrell was cold and she showed the world her true colors and cold heart. Instead of apologizing she played the victim role and tried to justify her disgusting actions. Tamron I am a PK kid (pastor's Kid) my father was a COGIC pastor and preacher. COGIC is the same denomination Kim Burrell follows. Proverbs 18: 21 " The tongue has the power of life and death ". Kim Burrell spoke of this "Church LINGO" that anyone who is not a part of the church would not understand or will take what she said out of context. That is straight-up BULL CRAP!! Matthew 12:34 " Out of his heart a man speaks ". Kim Burrell, I say to you, "Be careful with your words you either speak life or death. " Matthew 5: 23-24 " So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First, be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. When someone tells you that your actions or behavior has offended them you are supposed to go to your brother or sister to reconcile. Kim Burrell has a reputation for offending others. If LOVE is always the intention why can't you just apologize why do you feel the need to play the victim and justify your actions? When you profess to be a Christian and minister in the church there are certain standards and expectations that come with that. You are supposed to be a reflection of GOD's Love. I Corinthians 13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. Kim Burrel is Gospel royalty and has a phenomenal gift of song. If LOVE is truly in your heart Kim Burrell then you will take your gift and leave it at the altar and go to your brother and sister to reconcile. I LOVE YOU TAMRON!!! Ms. April, I pray you find your way back to the Lord. There but for the grace of God go any of us. I have experienced a great deal of church hurt. I love God and couldn’t imagine my life without Him.

I wouldn't say "Christianity" is the problem, but RELIGION is. And this should never stop anyone to seek relationship with the father, GOD hisself does not approve of the hypocrites or religious.. SO people must not get church ( the building) or religion mixed up with the TRUE LIVING GOD
Nothing wrong with leaving religion! I highly recommend it. But I hope you left religion and finally encountered the living God.

So, I have been a Christian since I was 17 yrs old. Being a Christian is not just going to church, but acknowledging and repenting from your sins, having an intimate relationship with God, being filled with the Holy Spirit and not living like the world. We are to live His words, not our own, preach His Word, not our own. We are to study to show ourselves approved unto God (not man), a workman (of God) that need not be ashamed(to serve Him), rightly dividing the truth( of God's Word).
The Bible clearly says that in the last days ( which we are in) that men will be lovers of flesh. I said that yo say this...That woman preached about homosexuality as a sin because the Bible says it is. She is not a homophobic hypocrite because she preached what she knew to be the Word of God. God never hates the sinner, however he hates the sin. All sin is the same in the eyes of God. If you are doing something that goes against the Word of God, telling you the truth in love, doesn't mean that people will always receive it, correcting a behavior is love not hate. My mom had to correct me at times, some correction was a talk, some corrections I got yelled at or punished and sometimes I got my butt whipped. I will always thank God for the discipline of my Mother and other adults that helped to raise me. She made me mad, she made me cry at times, I didn't always like the truth, but I know that my Mother loved me more than any human being on earth. Whom you love you chastise. You know for all of the negative and vile comments about Kim Burrell, I would be guarded if I were her too. For so many to say she showed no love when she preached against homosexuality, a lot of you are guilty of showing no love and grace as well. Better yet, since the Bible addresses homosexuality, why are you condemning her and not the Bible? That's what is taught in the Bible and she had chosen to believe the Word of God, so, is the Word of God hateful? Praying for everybody to respect her belief in the Word Of God. God shows grace and love for us all even though we fall short daily. All of us have done or said something to hurt other people and ourselves and God. Yet, even if it's something that God hates, He never hated us. So, let's not hate Kim Burrell.
