I just want to add, I am reading a study Bible and one of the things that was mentioned was 'the phrase "walked with God" is only used of two men: Enoch and Noah. Walk is a biblical figure for fellowship and obedience that results in divine blessing. It describes the closest communion with God - as if walking at His side.' I love that 😊❤ I wanna 'walk with God'.

Excellent observation. Yes, you are right. In the old days, some people had the privileged to literally walked with God. It's meeting God in a physical form. Adam experienced that so many times and he had an intimate relationship with God that even just hearing God's footsteps Adam recognized that it's God walking in the garden. That's how intimate Adam was with God.
There's many possibilities that maybe a lion was just walking around in the garden or some other animals that was causing the sound...but NO. Adam knew it was God.
It is literal because a spirit does not walk and does not create sound of footsteps. God in the garden was in a physical form that enables Adam to really enjoy Him.

Verse 24 says in KJV “… and he was not for God took him”. CEB version says “Enoch walked with God and disappeared, because God took him”. Enoch is one of the two people in the Bible who didn’t experience death. He was taken to be with the Father and he will return to earth to die because the Bible says “ it is appointed unto man to die, and after that judgment”. Enoch did not die in this passage. He was transfigured. Thank you for your teachings they really help.

You mention Cain's lineage with destruction. Actually, this goes back to Adam. We inherited sin from Adam and Eve through birth, so everyone from Adam's lineage caused so much sin that
continues to be a problem to this day.
Anyway, you did a great job breaking down Ch. 5 and making it easy for everyone to understand the genealogy of Adam that goes all the way to Jesus. I liked how you made it simple,
and that serves well when I read Genesis 5 because it can make me understand it better. I was overwhelmed with the numbers until you broke it down.
    Genesis 5 was about Genealogy.
I love what you said about not following the example of Cain. This was the favorite part of this video that I got out of it.

Absolutely - sin originates with Adam but I was just showing the difference between Cain's and Seth's linages. It can be super overwhelming and writing it down certainly helps. I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you for watching!

verses 21-23 when is says God took him (Enoch) away i did some research and basically “Enoch and Elijah are said in the scripture to have been taken into heaven while still alive and not experiencing a physical death”. I found that so interesting!

One interpretation of these ages is that they refer to the Mayan calendar. Also, if you notice closely, Eve mates with two creations named “the Adam”. One Adam was created by YHVH (“the lord”) and the other is from Elohim (“god”). The one from Elohim produces Seth and the “sons of Elohim”. The Adam from YHVH mates with Eve and produces Cain.

My study Bible notes that: "Enoch and Elijah were taken by God without experiencing death. This was testimony of Enoch's deep faith in God and a strong reminder at the beginning of biblical history that for God's people, there is life in God's presence after our physical bodies have died."

Do you have any tios on how to read through lineage passages? I know they are important but I still have a hard time reading through because they seem boring. I think this also shows how God can take something bad and turn it into good. Abel was killed so Adam and Eve had Seth. In Seth's line you have Noah, Abraham, David, to eventually JESUS. It was Seth's line that had our Savior.

some interesting information I found out about this chapter. Methuselah translated mes "I die" and "sent away" I read that Methuselah means "when he is dead i,t shall be sent", Methuselah died in Noahs 600th year of life and then the same year the great , flood came so enoch must have had a premonition and since Enoch lived to be 969 years he had to be alive during Noahs Life and possibly told Noah Directly... imagine how much we would find out from our own ancestors had we lived that long

Hello again!!! Just finished Chapter 5 and i and I wanted to say Thank you again for this amazing study. It was nice and to the point. I discovered through the reading of the comments that there were actually 2 Enoch’s in the Bible. Enoch son of Cain who Cain named his city after and then Enoch son of Seth. I. Guessing because of the generational curse of destructiveness that followed cains lineage, his descendants weren’t mentioned but then again it still confuses me a little because wasn’t Lamech apart of Cains lineage as he was cursed 7x times more than Cain for killing a man in Self-defense? I would really love to know this or is there 2 Lamechs as well.,. Another wonderful discovery I made for all those who want an answer/deeper understanding of what happened to Enoch after his 365 years in V24; please refer to Hebrews 11:5 🙏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾! Because of my study sessions with you, I see myself getting to the book of Exodus in no time!!!!! See you in lesson 6😊

Enoch’s name in English is pronounced EE-nahk. In proper Hebrew, it’s Khah-NOHK and it means “dedicate”.

I'm kinda confused, because in the previous chapter Lamech was from Cain's bloodline, he killed a man and was coursed 7 times Cain's course. But here he is Adam's bloodline and Noeh's father.... unless there are two Lamechs?

There are two Enoch in bible ...Cain' s son Enoch ..city of Enoch built and named after him ..and Enoch who walked with God and was kidnapped by God ...if you will...

  • @MiLaDoB
    @MiLaDoB 3 года назад +1

Thank you Dear again...for putting your perspective on this chapter 5...you asked why Cain not mentioned? Simple..He did not have any value in the writing of History in the eyes of Moses ...the author of Genesis..put it in human terms nowadays..if someone divorced and remarries and has kids , will they name their ex in the newly formed family tree? I doubt it...Also , to add to the geneoalagy presented here, it is but a mere mentioning of a person , their name and how many years they lived and their number of kids ...it's like the orbiturires today of our times...you get one line near your name ...and people move on...Who makes a difference ? People who connect to God and walk with the Lord all their life..they are given more than the usual name and number yrs lived...Enoch the seventh line from Adam, was that unique person . It's believed him and Elijah were taken by God ...two that never died in the Bible..is God preparing for them a mission in the battle with the Anti Christ? Just like talked about in Revelation? They will die one day, cause we all bound to die otherwise why did Jesus come to die for us and save us? So Enoch mentioned by St Paul in Hebrews 11 and st Jude in the new testament also mentions him in verse 14 . Enoch foresaw the coming of Jesus ..( you might ask how St Paul and St Jude know all of this about Enoch, one reason is that the Holy Spirit revealed for them Enoch's secrets , or just like the Hebrew oral traditional customs that were handed down to many generations and never was written in any book? ......The walk with the Lord will reveal to us many things in life ,,it surely opens our eyes big time to the deep meanings of our actions and how to save our souls .a Lebanese modern Saint once said . (Father Nimatalah Hardini)" the brave is the one who saves his/her soul ".

You are so weird in your explanation because at first, when Seth was born, you commented that Cain was not mentioned. That was a good observation. But then when you came to Enoch with a very simple English phrase, it only says, "God took him away", and you commented "you don't know what it means"...
    Whaaattt!?!?!
As simple as that, "God took him away", you cannot understand what it means???
    That is your mistake.
You want to put a difficult meaning into something that is simply said, "God took him away"...
What's the problem with that? Can't you just say it again simply that "God took Enoch away"?
