I can tell the pork was flavorful, but dry. The chorizo looked juicy. You did your best to be kind and open minded, but happy Mickey finished his meals. You ate like a beauty queen in training. Lol.
My childhood best friend moved in Lima when I was very young, so I'm quite fascinated by this. Its been over a decade last I've seen her but I still remember our friendship with warmth. I love seeing a glimpse of the life and food culture there.
I don't know if anyone ever told u about this, you have this like the most weird comfortable voice while you eating. So, beside enjoying your food, your voice can help me relax and sometimes when I get 'insomnia', I can fall asleep while listening to you :) Thank you!
the reason the chicken(hen) dish you had tasted so chickeny, its because those hens are free ranged, so rising them in the wild makes them taste a lot stronger than in captivity withbad food
Wtf lol it is! You should investigate more. Our system is not like in USA. Morty of the meat that go to the restaurant are from farms. Industrial farms in Peru are extremely different than in America. They still use the traditional way to take care of chickens
Mike! Thanks for all of your hard work. I never really comment on your videos, but seeing that I'm super early by chance, I just wanted to say that you are really amazing. I admire your work ethic and your tenacity. It's also super awesome how you have such a respectful and entertaining personality. My boyfriend and I love all of your channels!
All Abored yes but it's his first time traveling to a non Asian country, his New York food videos are great but it's not the same as actually being there.
Thank you for showing the wonders of the peruvian amazonian cuisine. If you think that the food was good, so now imagine eating all of these magic food in the middle of the jungle while watching the amazon river, that is one life experience. :)
OMG Mike, I Love seeing you experience new things. Please don't stop exploring and sharing that with us. I don't mind living vicariously through experiences. Much love to you and your crew. Thank you
I don't think you understand how your channel makes me appreciate the different cultures and food around the world. I think you make me want to try everything i usually wouldn't eat.
lucas jose I've been to Panama on several occasions!! nice country good food pleasant people and low crime! unfortunately Brazil can't say the same thing!! there's a lot of crime!! you gotta watch you're back most time cause somebody always trying to hustle you!! ESPECIALLY IF YOU A FOREIGNER!!
I've been to Rio and Balneario Camboriú with my friend. Not once we felt we were in danger. Evey single person was there to help us. Didn't have to watch my back at all.
Mike I have been watching your videos since you began making them, even then I thought "how does he not have more subscribers?!" I always knew you were going to be big and it brings a huge smile to my face seeing you nearly hit 800,000. Great job, can't wait to see your channel continue to grow!
Hi Mikey I just wanted to let you know that I really look forward to all your future videos i have been watching for about a year now and your one of my favorite food related RUclipsrs can't wait to see more keep it up!
Will you channel's brand ever include exploring the people, culture, geography, history, etc of the places you visit? Watching you videos, I've been noticing how important this context is when trying new food! Think that would make for a cool series!
Doubt he'll do something like this. He said he usually travels around 10days because after that he gets travelsick /homesick. But then being home(NY) after sometime he gets the wanderlust and he gets hungry lol. He mentioned it in one of his recent videos. Edit: but I'd love to see it too.
Now this is what I want to see more of. You must travel more in South America. So many things no one has ever seen before. Thanks for a great eating tour of Peru.
"That just tasted like it just rained." Mikey, I can't for the life of me imagine how that's like! By far the best euphemism I've ever heard from you lmao
Glad you liked the food, peruvian food is heavenly tasty, Next time you come to Peru tell me and I will gladly show you around and give you some tips on what to eat 🤗, I feel so proud of our cousine.
I don't say this often about food videos, but I do believe I'd eat all those dishes you just had....even the ants!!! I love the way you represented the restaurant, and I love the way it looks. This was a great video, and even made me think of going to Peru just to find this place 😂❤️❤️❤️❤️
Peru is an extraordinary place to have new foody experiences. I recommend you the restaurant called CENTRAL. They classify the dishes according to the altitude the ingredients were growth at. Really fascinating.
So glad I found this channel! This would be my dream job. I love trying foods from different cultures. Want to travel outside the states and try authentic foods. Hopefully one day I will. Thanks for sharing your experiences. It helps that he is cute too. Lol.
Mike I’m from Peru ... from the amazon ... you just brought great memories ... what a great video .... thus is my first time watching ur videos .. I just subscribe it. Thanks
Mike, tell me if I'm wrong. When I go to a Chinese buffet, I immediately go for the giant roasted fish at the end. It is always a salmon or snapper and slap kicks almost everything else in the hot plates. The pirahnna you ate reminded me of that in this vid......btw pirahnna is good don't apologize.
This was great MIke. I watched the whole thing, and fell asleep just as I was about to comment. I know that soup was great. My imagination can taste it. Plantain is always good :-p until next time stay safe, have fun, thanks for uploading.
That plantain dish in Ecuador is called Boloń( de queso o chicharrón) we put either pieces of cheese or pork in it. Although not as crunchy as the one you had. I kind wanna go eat some right now. It's soo good 😩😩
The Tacacho is also made by Puerto Ricans and Cubans too, with a different name- for PR folks, it's mofongo I think, for Cubans it is fufu de platano- it can also be made with shrimp. Amazingly awesome foods :), the presentation can differ too- whether rounded and fried or served pureed or mashed.
Strictly Dumpling it is 1 am Mike! ONE IN THE MORNING! And I am now starving for chicken and soup.... and I don't have a kitchen where I am living so I can't just whip something up... Omg Mike.... you demon.
You should try "Picarones", and "Mazamorra Morada" (It is made by the same main ingredient as chicha morada), "Anticuchos of chicken or beef", "Lomo Saltado" (my favourite food), "Ceviche" (our main peruvian sea dish), "Camu Camu" (is such an exquisite drink that has some hormones similar to those jungle drinks), "Caldo de Gallina" (a soup perfect for cold days), and "Inka Cola" (our peruvian take on Coca Cola). Have fun trying all of our yummy food 🤗
I love it but my sister burnt her young when she was Little and she lost the ability to taste bitter despite the fact she used to love cilantro it now taste like soap to her as well
That first dish we have our own version in Puerto Rico, called Mofongo. If you love garlic, pork and fried plantains, you will LOVE it. We serve it with a side of chicken soup or other stock, with shrimp or more fried pork.
Peru has 3 geographic regions. Coast , Mountains, Jungle. Can you even imagine the results of the interaction between the 3. It's just out of this world.Fascinating. And plus they have done fusions with chinese and japanese influence. It's awesome by any means.
I love juka, however you spell it. My mother in law makes a dish where you cook the juka by boiling it, season hamburger meat, smash the juka and flatten the smashed juka and stuff with the meat, fold over like a pocket, then fry it up.... sooooo yummy
You should stop by Bolivia too :) I live in a city named Puerto Suárez that we live on a zone called "Pantanal" and we eat the Piraña on soupes, fried, and also alligator, it's delicious!
This is a re-upload, i'm really sorry guys! We had to fix the subtitles. Thanks for understanding!
Strictly Dumpling thankyou for taking the time to correct it :) much appreciated
Hey! I went to Peru for a month for study abroad! It was an amazing experience and I think it's so cool that u are there!
Strictly Dumpling I'm sorry but I think you need open a how to diet channel very soon LOL.
Strictly Dumpling lol I was wondering why he only had subtitles in the kitchen I was like 😶
I can tell the pork was flavorful, but dry. The chorizo looked juicy. You did your best to be kind and open minded, but happy Mickey finished his meals. You ate like a beauty queen in training. Lol.
4:38 that guy in green tshirt seems like a nice dude, that smile in his face just never goes off.
nick 😂
He think he's with Jackie Chan on tv.
nick I
nick he's high
People from the jungle are very friendly, I've worked with a couple of them.
My childhood best friend moved in Lima when I was very young, so I'm quite fascinated by this. Its been over a decade last I've seen her but I still remember our friendship with warmth. I love seeing a glimpse of the life and food culture there.
When Mike turned into the food version of Discovery Channel :P
Wouldn't be surprised if he took over for Andrew Zimmern on "Bizarre Foods".
That exists. It's called the Travel Channel.
Dude why r u so pretty
JadeLee13 Will you marry me
haha dont know about that
I just got super mad at my sandwich. "Why aren't you yummy like Mike's food." So jealous.
Sasha Gonzalez lmfao made my day thank you
You make some of the best food related videos on RUclips Mike!
I don't know if anyone ever told u about this, you have this like the most weird comfortable voice while you eating. So, beside enjoying your food, your voice can help me relax and sometimes when I get 'insomnia', I can fall asleep while listening to you :) Thank you!

Hada Rios Rios Mickey's girlfriend is a lucky woman. The man eats pretty much everything and anything. Lol
Hada Rios Rios hahaha! in the Philippines we call it "hugot"
Probably his last relationship was a "little juicy" and had a "bit of a fermented taste" 😂😂😂
the reason the chicken(hen) dish you had tasted so chickeny, its because those hens are free ranged, so rising them in the wild makes them taste a lot stronger than in captivity withbad food
You are right. Peruvians prefer to eat organic raised chicken.
... It's a restaurant, folks. None of the mass chicken distributors here sell free range chicken.

Broly Xiong ever notice the smaller the pepper the more insain it is!
Lol . I think it is as spicy as thai chili
I bet he could handle it, but he probably didn't want to ruin the rest of the meal by eating a super spicy pepper at the start
you should try it, it is really HOT!!
More Peru yayy!! Love these videos and the food looks good as always!!
I just wanna say thank you! I always feel like I'm travelling with you through your videos.

Thank you for showing the wonders of the peruvian amazonian cuisine. If you think that the food was good, so now imagine eating all of these magic food in the middle of the jungle while watching the amazon river, that is one life experience. :)

This is better than TV.
Mikey -- Those Charapita peppers are about $35K per kilo and 35-50K Scoville units.
Mike I have been watching your videos since you began making them, even then I thought "how does he not have more subscribers?!" I always knew you were going to be big and it brings a huge smile to my face seeing you nearly hit 800,000. Great job, can't wait to see your channel continue to grow!

Will you channel's brand ever include exploring the people, culture, geography, history, etc of the places you visit? Watching you videos, I've been noticing how important this context is when trying new food!
Think that would make for a cool series!
It's better if he made a separated videos between culture and food. You just cant enjoy the two things at the same time.
He has a vlog channel in which he explores the country's culture, history etc. He puts the food in proper context.
hi, yea trying to make the videos better by including more of those things
Videos like this are why i adore this channel

When are you visiting Ecuador? You should try typical dishes there such as roasted guinea pig, encebollado de pescado(fish soup), cazuela, etc..
I love juka, however you spell it. My mother in law makes a dish where you cook the juka by boiling it, season hamburger meat, smash the juka and flatten the smashed juka and stuff with the meat, fold over like a pocket, then fry it up.... sooooo yummy
I like how the chef at the back has such a 'smile'y face.
