    Great video - looking strong and great effort. I can see why you kept going for the same methods on those though. You were quite close and alternatives weren't super clear. Cheering for you in the upcoming World Cup - you belong there!!!

      Thank you! And yes def, i think that's the main problem with feeling close to doing the moves is that you don't want to try anything else but could also be worth a risk cause it go down straight away/faster with a new method

    Sometimes it's just not your day and move on. Although when the jury pointed out the false start at boulder 2 it kinda lit a fire and you had to prove something it seemed :) Keep your head up and your spirit will follow!

    Maybe you think that you did too many attempts, but you did it with the right energy, the smile and you looked so strong! It’s amazing that after some tries you look fresh like it’s the first one. Keep on going, you are on this path where you could be the best version of yourself 🫵💪

    Oh my gosh, the fact that you were able to climb these boulders with a smile on your face is so respectable. You climbed so well and I'm glad you came out of it with a positive mindset, because I definitely have to avoid the dark spiral when climbing hard things at my limit as well.
    Could someone clarify for me, are you allowed to have as many attempts as you want within the four minutes? Do they take points off for the amount of attempts you have? I don't typically watch comp so I don't know too much about the rules.
    Looking forward to your next video! Love from North Carolina, USA :)

      You are allowed as many attempts as you want, but usually ties are decided based on the number of attempts.

    That boulder 2 flyover is a such cool move, tell me how to train for such moves. 😍
    How much skin does that landing takes though...I'm more of static climber here so those moves despite cool, was never attempted haha, and I usually climb chalk free too.
    and that final boulder seems like an impossible paddle move, until I saw you tryna stop in the middle using your right foot, really cool. Allez Sofya !! 🤟🤟

    I'm really curious about the intended beta for the last boulder. Were you supposed to match and flag out the feet before dyno-ing?

    • @sofya_yokoyama
      @sofya_yokoyama  10 месяцев назад +1

      Technically, you were supposed to keep right hand on the lower crimp and go left hand up onto the slopy red, then catch both hands on the next red which you could stop on. The way I did it had too much swing and turned too much to be able to do that (even though it did feel close).

    • @wsxgfhccr

    For coordination moves, sometimes it's not about giving 100% but moreso about learnign the movement and that takes attempts.
    Also please talk about the boulders in a voiceover if you can for the next video like this. I love these videos but that would make them even better.

    • @sofya_yokoyama
      @sofya_yokoyama  10 месяцев назад

      Yes def! It always takes forever for me to understand the movement in training, really trying to work on learning it faster ahah and yes, I plan on doing that next time!!

  • @RubinKlein25
    @RubinKlein25 10 месяцев назад

  • @deminmax
    @deminmax 10 месяцев назад

    You do many attempts when you get nervious. You may want to think what makes you calm down in a comp situation. And what makes you nervious. Clear understanding might help you to control your axiety.
    You did great! Keep it up!

    • @sofya_yokoyama
      @sofya_yokoyama  10 месяцев назад +1

      I think it's more frustration (but also a bit of stress) with not being able to do the move even though I know I can. And then seeing the clock ticking and not getting much closer with each attempt. Then I go into rapid fire and give attempt after attempt which isn't the best either so def should find something to calm me down ahah

    • @deminmax
      @deminmax 10 месяцев назад

      @@sofya_yokoyama so ticking time makes you anxious, unsuccessful attempts. Other competitors’ results can also play a role. Your own expectations - I must do these problems at national level. Nervousness is just the difference between your expectations and current in the moment results.
      What happens when you add ticking time to your training session? Do you feel the same anxiety? If not, it may be a good thing to think what really makes you nervous.
      Cause it has a snowball effect - ticking time makes you nervous, when you are nervous you make mistakes, mistakes turn into failed attempts and it leaves you less time. I guess you know it all by yourself.
