- This video was made under very controlled conditions, under the supervision of the shooting range administrator - do not reproduce it yourself !!!
This video serves as a demonstration of shooting, not the production of a weapon !!! (Experimental- Do not recreate)I hope you enjoy the video. Thank you.
In this video you will see .338 Lapua Magnum ammo exploding outside the barrel. .What Happens? What powerful?
The .338 Lapua Magnum (8.6×70 mm or 8.58×70 mm) is a rimless, bottlenecked, centerfire rifle cartridge. It was developed during the 1980s as a high-powered, long-range cartridge for military snipers. It was used in the War in Afghanistan and the Iraq War. As a result of this, it has become widely available.
The loaded .338 cartridge is 14.93 mm (0.588 in) in diameter (rim) and 93.5 mm (3.68 in) long. It can penetrate better-than-standard military body armor at ranges of up to 1,000 metres (1,090 yd), and has a maximum effective range of about 1,750 metres (1,910 yd) with C.I.P. conforming ammunition at sea level conditions. Muzzle velocity is dependent on barrel length, seating depth, and powder charge, and varies from 880 to 915 m/s (2,890 to 3,000 ft/s) for commercial loads with 16.2-gram (250 gr) bullets, which corresponds to about 6,525 J (4,813 ft⋅lbf) of muzzle energy.
British military issue overpressure .338 Lapua Magnum cartridges with 91.4 mm (3.60 in) overall length, loaded with 16.2-gram (250 gr) LockBase B408 very-low-drag bullets fired at 936 m/s (3,071 ft/s) muzzle velocity fired from a L115A3 Long Range Rifle were used in November 2009 by British sniper Corporal of Horse (CoH) Craig Harrison to establish a new record for the longest confirmed sniper kill in combat, at a range of 2,475 m (2,707 yd) (since broken).[4][5] In reports, CoH Harrison mentions the environmental conditions at Musa Qala were perfect for long range shooting: no wind, mild weather, clear visibility.[6]
In addition to its military role, it is increasingly used by hunters and civilian long-range shooting enthusiasts. The .338 Lapua Magnum is capable of taking down any big game animal, though its suitability for some dangerous game (Cape buffalo, hippopotamus, white rhinoceros, and elephant) is arguable, unless accompanied by a larger "backup" caliber: "There is a huge difference between calibers that will kill an elephant and those that can be relied upon to stop one."[7] In Namibia the .338 Lapua Magnum is legal for hunting Africa's big five game if the loads have at least 5,400 J (3,983 ft⋅lbf) muzzle energy.[8]
I used a Gopro Hero 10 camera for slow motion. 240 fps.

People in the comments missing the point completely that this is a test without barrel and complain this is not accurate test as the Lapua Magnum is normally capable of killing a kilometers of distance...
I'm
my
ok
Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of testing it OUTSIDE of a gun barrel?
26" barrel to launch that big bulet out at something more than 50 feet away I have a ar10 338 lapua chambered and anything under 26 the cycling and gas and everything just won't work correctly
R.i.p expensive brass.
I found how the barrel is important
Yeah I was surprise with this one. I thought it would have gone through al least the first gel without the need of a barrel velocity
The brass would've
Wow a barrel makes such a difference
These videos always remind me of a time when a friend and I took his .22 magnum out to a farm field (actually the half mile grass airstrip where our skydiving club leased land) and brought a can of motor oil, a can of soda, and an orange. The .22 magnums were hollow points and each item just exploded. We tried to walk over in the knee high weeds where we had set the targets up but, as you can imagine, there was oil, soda, and orange pulp everywhere. That motivated me to get a .22 magnum. Good times! Thanks for another fun and entertaining video.
Thank you for support 💪💪💪--->.500 S&W magnum in next video.
.22 Magnum and .17 HMR are great. Love both of mine. Marlins.
@@lot2196 My .22 Mag is a Marlin, too. I bought it because the one we used years ago to explode all that stuff was a Marlin my friend owned. Since then, I had to have one! ; )
Usually you save the brass to reload, he's saving the bullets.
The gases from the ignited gun powder are just escaping in all directions without using a gun barrel
Právě jsem dal odběr a gratuluji za 420k! / I just subscribed and congrats for 420k! (Vím, že jsi čech.)
Ta plechovka koly pěkně provaří :)
excellent.
Canal bom é canal que faz essas coisas 🤣
Next do Brittingham's 8.6! ......please.
I love mr Mirchal
Min 2:00 R.I.P. fly
Please 8 mm mauser test
Cool
lots of brass shards.
Boom 🔥
Lol how much was that 10 rounds? Like 100 bucks?
20 rounds of Hornaday 285 Grain 338 LM was just about $120 US for 20 rounds the last time I bought them. So, about $6 a shot..
Шикарный арбуз!
Waiting for the machete to do the most damage on your arm, chopping watermelon.
👍👍👍 Es man es.
It would be cool if you shot steel case ammo like 7,62/39
I did that with help of fire. The case exploded and become dangerous shrapnel! Bullet harmless 😃
👍
950 jdj next XD
Do AP rounds
Good dent in wood. Still no Chrono. Pity
where do you expect to put the chronograph?? the round is already only inches away from its target...
@@nosfurato1428 Send several shots without target through the chrono. Then, the mean value take
@@imeprezime1285 I suppose that could work. I would be a little worried about damaging it though. Lol
Ayeee
7.62. 54R
That watermelon looked sweet and juicy 😋
Waste of expensive ammo!
I want it 😎😎
These videos are kinda silly. The strength of the brass is no where near steel. The result is only a small quantity of powder burns before the case bursts. Because of this lack of support, it doesn’t matter much wether it’s a .357 or a .50 BMG!! You could make things better by stuffing insanely fast powder in the case. Of course that would make the cartridges totally unsafe for any gun and so you just made suicide rounds!!!
So as I said no need to do these extra experiments it’s just a very expensive firecracker!!! Respect your ammo and stop abusing it.
That's the point.
Be cool if you learned framing....
The bullet is exploding not shooting, so it means its NOT an ACCURATE test
That is EXACTLY the point of this test !!!
Explosion is not the correct term .
