Nothing like the solitude of fishing, that's therapeutic in itself!
Therapeutic. This video exemplifies the solace I find when I’m on the water. Thank you for doing what you do Mike!
Much appreciated Chris! A little different than the normal vids!
So relaxing…love fishing but love watching you fish when I can’t get out.
The rise at 2:03 as you’re walking away. Classic
That is how it goes Russell!
If you slow the video and zoom in you can actually see the fish laughing.
Love this style of video, and that ol battenkill sound
Thank you Lucas! Figured I'd switch it up for a vid
Mike the content god! Always helping time pass while I’m at my desk at work 🦾
Thank you so much Alejandro!
Wow, talk about serenity. This is what I like to hear when I'm on the river. Mike, I don't think I've ever seen a videographer do a voiceless video; a very clever idea. And as always, I enjoy seeing you in the Ozarks.
Well done and thanks,
Steve
Just trying to switch it up a bit! Because sometimes it’s really just fishing!
Headed to the Little Piney this coming weekend. This has me pumped!!
Your video reminds me of when I go fishing, pretty much no dialogue. The sounds of nature are amplified in the absence words. It was a great video, love the underwater shots, I think I even saw a crawfish??
That being said your poetic commentary will be looked forward to on your next video. :)
Thank you Daniel! Sometimes nothing needs to be said! Just cast and breathe in the day.
Love when adventurers go back to fishing their home waters! Great classic video Mike! I could never create videos like yours! I do like the poetic narrating that you normally have in most of your videos. You have a way of narrating a shot/scene that makes it feel like I’m truly there and helps depict everything going on around you! Please keep the videos coming! Cheers!
Thank you so much Owen! This one is a bit different, but the different video style was nice.
Those are some absolutely beautiful rainbows. Kind of reminds of the ones I catch in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Most of the rainbows I catch are stockers. It’s a nice reminder to see how colorful the wild ones are.
I’m always use to your narration. It’s interesting to see just the video alone.
Not bad to switch it up sometimes!
Thanks so much for this video. Nice combination of worlds for me. We finished up school in Missouri (Ph.D. wildlifer) and spent many hours fishing those wonderful streams. Then we moved back home to Eastern Oregon. Each year, I get a few trips here catching the wild fish that are the genetic stock for those Missouri trout. These red-band trout were selected because they could withstand some of the warmer water temperatures.
As I get older, I'm better at catching bigger fish, but the main thing for me is to get on the wilderness streams where we rarely see anyone else, the scenery is grand, and the fishing usually tops it all off.
Of course Mark! So glad you enjoyed!
Love the natural sound...really brings out the solitude. Hope you do this style of video again, especially for the MO streams. I love the narrated videos too, but this one was special for the stillness and quiet. Tight lines Mike!
I just might have to! Thank you Rick!
I definitely think "sights & sounds" style videos should get sprinkled in! This was great.
I kind of liked it too! Fun way to just let the day role on.. because sometimes its just fishing..
Beautiful! Thanks!
So glad you enjoyed!
What? No communication 😢. I always like to listen to your stories 😂. But in a way, I agree. Total silence, and just enjoy the peace and quiet 😊. Nice outing
Sometimes it's just about fishing!
Liked that you were back in Missouri! Love when no one is around! I’m headed down to the current river next week - going to fish that stretch where you caught that Big Brown by the boulders below the campgrounds! I’ve caught some nice trout there over the years🎣
Gotta get on the home waters whenever I can!!
Mike, I love the Little Piney and its beautiful wild trout. Good video, it tells everyone else why we love this stream. Thanks!
Great video Mike. Solitude and beautiful scenery are why we love to fly fish. Colorful wild bows. Don't remember ever hearing the click and pawl of your reel.
Thank you Steven!!
walked that trail like 2 weeks ago and found about 8 ticks between myself and my dog
It’s about that time of year!
That wind got insane quickly. Great relaxing video
That was the last warm day of the season! That wind was fighting a losing battle with a bone chilling cold front
love it...could use 8 hrs of this while I work. Thanks Mike
Thank you Ross! I might have to make some more like this!
Gotta make it up to the Bozeman area sometime, would love to give you some backcountry spots
I might make my way up there this year!
Amazing video as usual.
Long live the Rolla Triangle.
Definitely one of my favorite streams, great vid as always!
Thank you Scott! Mine as well!
Do you have any videos on how to get into and start fly fishing? You would be a great teacher.
Thank you Alex! I don't as of right now! There are a lot of videos out there that claim to know what it takes to get into fly fishing.
Nice video! Love this spot! Fish here all the time. Thansk!
It is an absolute gem!
Awesome stuff. Love it.
Cary!! Thank you so much!
Do you have or can you post a video about how to set up a fly rod? I haven't used one for years! I'd be using it more for Crappie and Blugill since I live in North East Kansas but I'll also be heading up to Estes Park Colorado soon!
New to Missouri and really enjoying learning the Little Piney....How do you get past the first slow pool bend (at about 3min into your video)? do you just bushwack through on the right hand side? Is there a trail?...
Can't wait
Awesome catches
Thank you!!
@@FLYALLSZN your welcome!
“All the wonders of life are already here. They’re calling you. If you can listen to them, you will be able to stop running. What you need, what we all need, is silence. Stop the noise in your mind in order for the wondrous sounds of life to be heard. Then you can begin to live your life authentically and deeply.”
― Thích Nhất Hạnh, Silence: The Power of Quiet in a World Full of Noise
Where is this?! I live in western illinois, 2 hrs from STL, desperate for areas to pack into with decent fishing!
enjoyable video!
Thank you so much!!
nice one Mike, i really need to get out there soon
Yes!! It is one of my favorites
Perfect❤
Thank you very much!
You fish so many places different States! Quick question, what's be the best place go hiking few miles to go camping day or two for fly fishing in Colorado. Maybe 5 to 6 miles hike. I'm little bit out of shape, plus my age range past my prime 😮😢.
Keep making vids
Nice...McClouds?
At one point yes! I am sure they have been muddied since they were stocked back in the day
Good ol creek! Still bummed about the bridge access...
What happened at the bridge access?
That access point used to be crazy during the summer. Lawn chairs and loud music. I can understand why the private land owners shut it down
I guess that was recent? I haven’t been down there in about 2 years. I was actually thinking about going there this weekend. I was excited to see you were back in Missouri! I love all your adventures but fishing Missouri waters is why I started following you.
ASMR for fishermen.
Sometimes it's just fishing!
Nice hatch! Lots of risers.
They were coming up like crazy but so tough to dial em in!
