  • On today’s episode, Jack is joined by veterans and entrepreneurs, Scott Neil and Mark Nutsch.
    Mark Nutsch served in the Army as a Special Forces officer. Scott Neil is a retired Green Beret Master Sergeant. Following the attacks of 9/11, they deployed to Afghanistan where their mission led them to traverse the rugged terrain by horseback. Their story was immortalized in the film 12 Strong.
    Scott and Mark are also two of the co-founders of American Freedom Distillery, the makers of award-winning Horse Soldier Bourbon.
    Following a storied career in Special Forces, Scott Neil went on to work with the Green Beret Foundation, developing and launching a transition and resiliency program for veterans called The Next Ridgeline. Scott continues to champion for veterans via senior advisory positions with the
    Veterans Affairs Committees and the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. Mark is the author of the new book, Swords of Lightning: Green Beret Horse Soldiers and America’s Response to 9/11.

    This is one of many interviews that our great-great grandchildren will watch way more than the present generation. Imagine if you could hear and see three veterans of the wilderness campaign, Vicksburg, or Antietam chatting. Our great-great will be able to experience these gentlemens’ first hand accounts 100 years from now; providing we can control access to the truth in the coming years. God bless these men, and God bless the United Sates of America 🇺🇸. Not over yet.

    I stumbled across this interview when I was doing some searching on Horse Soldier whiskey. Some of the guys are doing a bottle signing today at my local liquor store.
    Honestly didn't know Carr had a youtube channel, now I'm subscribed. That 2 hours and 20 minutes flew by. I could listen to these conversations all day, even though I have very little clue about all the acronyms as I never served. Utmost respect for all 3 of you, and everyone else who protects my freedoms.

    Copy cat, I just did a video on the Horse Soldiers and their bourbon. Lol, so good to see someone with an actual following talking about this bourbon story. Some bourbons fall way short of the story, this one does not. The bourbon is at the top of my list, the story is pure American heroism and entrepreneurship, and I love it all. Keep it up, and send some viewers my way....lol again. Love your videos, your books, and the community.

    I live in Northeast Arkansas. My wife has family in Somerset KY. We visited there and I saw a sign for their whiskey. I think maybe a warehouse or store or something. I wondered if it was their gig and nerded out to my wife about those guys. I’m going to keep an eye out when we visit again lol. It would be awesome to run in to one of those guys.

    Somewhat unrelated but I’m reading “Savage Son” and did they really redact “Development Group”, “SEAL Delivery Vehicle”, “Joint Special Operations Command”, “Combat Application Group” and “Delta”? Yet they didn’t redact “The Unit”?!
    I’m in disbelief they redacted that open source info yet they didn’t redact James Reece’s insane ghost pepper torture methods. Way to go DOD 🤣👍🏼

    • @Ashton_Speaks
      @Ashton_Speaks 2 года назад +2

      A bunch of other authors including Jack carr have mentioned how they've had massive amounts of open source info redacted from their books. Absolute lunacy. Almost like its just thrown to a random under qualified officer to redact a whole book with literally no oversight.

    • @Patrick_Bateman____
      @Patrick_Bateman____ 2 года назад +2

      @@Ashton_Speaks
      I still can’t believe the torture methods in the third book weren’t redacted. That is some gnarly s*** I could never have thought of. Most likely not open source. But nooo they have to redact “CAG” hahaha
