Danny smith should be fired for the idea. I can’t believe they didn’t offer Najee his 5th year. He has ran hard behind a bad O line & bad QB’s. He earned that 5th year out of not only production, but respect as well.
I'm not sure why they didn't pick up Najee's 5th year contract....7 million seems like a good deal. Who else could they get for that amount? I understand not signing him to a new contract tho

First, I hope Justin service his one year and moves to a team that will use him at QB and not a gimmick. If he plays anything other than QB, I know Fields is a team player and will do it but it will burn any future bridges between him and the Steelers. It's like any of you who has a job. Your boss comes up to you and says hey we already have a software engineer but here is a plunger. You can tend to any bathroom issues. Most of you would tell them to kick dirt. Also, with NIL becoming a thing, I know the Steelers take pride in not paying players. I do not think they will be able to do that anymore. Most rookies will already be millionaires when they join the NFL and expect fair compensation. It's embarrassing, that they are $120,000 million less than the highest salary. What message does that send to the players? A top 7 RB isn't worth $6 million? I understand wisdom in not overspending but this is the extreme. If this was our boss we wouldn't be happy if they paid us 30% less than other people in our field and we perform at the top 5% of our industry. If the owners cannot afford to pay a player then they should sell the team.

Najee has the backbone to call out the Mike Tomlin BS and now Najee is paying the price. Mike Tomlin's ego will not allow anyone to confront him and not pay a price. This is a perfect example of why the Steelers will not be improving under Mike Tomlin any time soon.
