    All of these stats are affected by QB play, which was atrocious. If he had performed as well as he did the last few games with Rudolph, this wouldn’t be a question (and it’s not like Rudolph is considered a starting quality QB in the league)

    Very interesting and totally agree - People are talking about him like an elite number one. So far, he hasn't shown that consistently. The flashes are amazing, but they are just that, flashes. I still think they lost their best WR when they traded Diontae.

    Pickens has never played a game with a legit starting caliber Qb. We saw how good he was in the last few games with average Qb play. Mason just threw him the ball instead of freezing and checking down. I’m excited to see him get more opportunities.

    I used to coach WRs at the small college level until I couldn't afford working for room/board & 9k a year, anyway - this was a tough eval, but fair & extremely accurate.
    I can say I'm not as worried about the effort/frustration thing as much as others bc the Canada offense is the worst I've ever seen at the college/NFL level.
    For some perspective, Matt Patricia's metrics as an OC for 1 year were SIGNIFICANTLY better than Matt Canada's 2.5 year average. Matt Patricia with Mac Jones. Embarrassing 🤮

    It will be great if Pickens ups his game. Being where he needs to be at the right time matters. When it comes to the deep ball, it can be a great way to win, or not so good when it comes to controlling time. The Steelers play great when they have a well balanced game. Pass and run. Thanks Matt, Great show

    He's a No. 1 talent based on his skill set alone who hasn't had quality QB play or OC schematics to support that skill set.
    The paralysis of over-analysis continues to saturate media coverage. The press corps has to write about something. I guess this will do.

    I always think pickens is similar to juju after the catch, has to power through a couple tackles attempts to break open or no YAC

    Again ,I heard Pickens hired Diontae's personal coach to help him with routes after the season ended soooo there's that .Between that and a REAL OC im guessing we see a different GP

  • @joenobody2580
    @joenobody2580 16 дней назад

    Wr1 first needs to catch with 1on1, then YAC. Then he gets the respect of dbl and trip coverage and opens it up for everyone, if the qb looks and pump fakes to him to draw that coverage. Its what BR7 did.

  • @BesTiCaN1000
    @BesTiCaN1000 15 дней назад

    How could he possibly put up the stats you expect from a wide reciever 1? He can only catch what's thrown to him, and he has 100% done that. He can only be a #1 if he is thrown the ball like a #1

    I'm worried about the two QBs that the Steelers picked up just like frat boys picking up a sofa that someone set out at their curb. Pickens is not a worry to me, the junk QBs are about 91% of my Steelers worry right now.

    They have cats with pay sites for every conceivable stat you can possibly imagine in sports. Hate to say it, but, if you are good with spreadsheets you can get a gig on ESPN like that Cynthia gal, you don't have to be an athlete just make the numbers sound good. No Offense Matt, love the P-Cast, just Say'n you can track stats for how well you brush your teeth or wipe your Bum. If you need to watch the all 22 frame by frame and pay for analytic sites you are not watching the games correctly! Example, the First Time I saw BR#07 come in for an injured Maddox and the First time I saw KP#08 come in for a Trash QB, over-drafted and a wasted Free Agent signing, I could instantly tell who could ball and who was over drafted. You don't need a spreadsheet for that! Go Steelers!

    • @MrWoodCy
      @MrWoodCy 15 дней назад

      I don’t sense ANY hater here….just reading an opinion with a few notes about the ‘other side’ of things… GP14 isn’t perfect by any stretch and if you watch the ALL22 you would see more than a few plays a game when you see effort issues. Most likely this is due to his frustration with the QB/play calling (your point). I disagree with MW on his strong side blocking … He’s wiry strong but I don’t blame him if he’s aware of the moving bodies/parts around him…I found him to be competent and certainly far superior to DJ…AR11 was our best blocking WR last year and GP14 was closer to him than he was to DJ18.

    That's the price of multiple years tolerating mickey mouse offensive scheme and awful QB play.
