holy shit so glad you said that stuff about DL. He's my favourite player but i've always noticed his champ pool outside of solo q is quite limited (what he can effectively play in comp) in the sense im always nervous when they pick something outside of two or three champs he's shown proficiency on. He never really ints his lane or gets completely crushed but he ends up not being the dominant force his team needs him to be later on, once they've been out rotated and out pressured due to the lack of pressure coming out of bot that teams he is on are used to.
Impact is a question mark? "Maybe" Ryu can pull out some of those picks? C'mon where are the hot takes. Tell me EF's bot lane will bring down their whole team or that impact will shit the bed top lane. Get this weak shit out of here.
@TheeMarkZ, on your point about TSM, i agree with the points you made, but something interesting to add is we saw bjerg playing master yi jungle with grig playing mid lane taric supporting him on stream. With taking that thought process, what do you think of TSM if instead of forcing bjerg, who is there main carry, to play supportive champions, to instead have bjerg hop around and play carries in other positions and have other players play the supportive role still, even if its mid lane. You can also mix and match your subs in to cover for your role changes as well. That got me thinking that this meta is pretty versatile and instead of being a midlaner, it could kinda introduces something that dota 2 has in the fact that you have a carry on your team, and they can move around depending on were you want to play your carry to be optimal. Of course that still makes the situation a giant question mark, but I think its something to consider if a team is able to play around a singular carry that hops from different lanes and positions now, because bjerg really is one of the best carries in NA who has a ton of champion diversity. This would also change the look of other teams quite a bit if you start thinking of things like this. Like how huni might not be locked into playing top only, and now you can simply shove him mid lane and funnal farm to him while having a different player play a more supportive top, or maybe bring in your sub top laner. Jensen is intresting because I would have guessed he would be good in this meta, but C9s decision to bench a ton of there team brings a ton of question marks so we kinda just have to wait and see whats going on with them.
I love this meta, is the moment when you can see fking fidlesticks, yi, darius, mundo, karthus and Aatrox playing in the most competitive regions after years of been gone and forggoten. And the best part is that you can still play standard lines and win, the only broken part is how powerfull are supports that are be used in mid and ADC... I think Impact can be pretty confortable in this meta, when top tanks still relevant (because fighters are played in mid, bot and jg) and Singed is a strong champ. Altec and Adrian can play tank duo line, maybe mage with a initiation support, and Kalista is becomen better with the nerf on crit and the buff on bork, maybe EF isn't that unconfortable in this meta like it seems.
In respects to C9's roster changes here are my thoughts: First off, this meta flipped a lot of things on it's head. aggression is key and given Sneaky and Jensen's recent champion pools (Sneaky on crit ADs and Jensen on control mages) It makes sense that they were subbed out. My guess on Smoothie is that they wanted to maintain ADC + SUP synergy. I'm hoping it's not long term either, but I understand the mindset of it. As far as I know the decision may stand to be temporary. Either once those players adapt to the meta or the meta returns to a more favourable one for those players I think they will be subbed back in. Second, I can see goldenglue working as a great supportive mid laner (I wouldn't trust him to do much on a carry though) and some of kieth's best plays were on Lucian. I'm not sure who is going to be doing the shot-calling though with smoothie subbed out.
I can't agree that it wasn't a surprise. I had also heard about the scrim thing on twitter, but benching 3 of not only your team's best players, but the LCS' best players is just outright stupid. I don't care if their motivation wasn't there. There are other, and more productive ways to motivate players than shooting your team in the foot like that. I feel bad for C9 fans this split, its gotta be rough seeing your team's management drop the ball like that and then not really explain themselves well enough.

We've seen Bjerg has the supportive champs in his arsenal (he's played Karma and Lulu and stuff to great success in past seasons), Mike is better on aggressive junglers which feels possibly suited to cheese (?), and Zven has been smashing solo Q on all sorts of crazy stuff (I think his most played is Vlad).
I agree with pretty much with your assessments. I only think that you are to player focussed. If I look at the team identities I see an aggressive and snowbally team in Echo Fox and even if the champions not completely fit the players I still think that Echo Fox as a team excels in this kind of meta. Clutch Gaming is a team which played very controlled, standard and slow last season so I think overall this meta is bad for them.
I mean wasn't Altec the only person to play Morde in the LCS in recent memory back on Flyquest, and that was when the pick was actual dogshit. I would assume he at least can play some of the offmeta bruiser/mage botlaners at a level that doesn't handicap his team.
xmithie's kindred is probably the most insane in NA. He is gonna be a key for TL this split. About DL, idk if hes gona catch up the meta botchamps fast enough, but hes a good mechanical player and im sure he will go on with it (im not a tl fan btw)
I don't agree with saying that top lane isn't important. Bruisers have an amazing power spike at 2 items. Which is why you're seeing quite a bit of irelia and darius bot lane. Adcs take too long to pop off. Yeah they can work but they aren't going to beat some of these crazy picks bot lane where they reach their powerspikes so early in the game. I think mid and top is what defines the games right now, more than anything. ADC in 2018 LUL I'm kind of on the fence about the meta. I main mid so the patch doesn't shit on my role like how ADC mains got shit on. But I imagine if mid lane changed so drastically like that. I'd prob be a little salty.

Karson Kammerzell in aware of what they did. It makes zero sense. You can't spend two years shortening games, then say you want crit to be a late game build. There is no late game, every game ends before crit can kick in. Creating items but for 40 minute games in a world where games last 25 minutes is no different from removing them from the shop.

lm Snarkk looked shaky at MSI, even against weaker teams. Meta is a lot worse for them, and they haven't shown they've been quick to adapt and innovate. I personally agree with Markz.

lm Snarkk Firstly DoubleLift is hardly going to be playing conventional ADCs anymore, so as much as I want to agree that DoubleLift is the best ADC in NA, his champion pool got fucked hard by the patch. Secondly, the video wasn't even about how good each team is, rather it was about how good the meta fits each team, which to be fair, FlyQuest will probably look good in for the first few weeks. Does this mean they will end up higher that TL? Hard to say, depends on meta shifts, don't argue with contentions like "flyquest suks dick" just because you can't comprehend basic reasoning or digest valid arguments.
I digest the argument alright. But it makes no sense. Fly has a revamped roster of bottom of the barrel players, he is putting faith into WildTurtle who has looked awful for the past few splits, despite winning a championship. Your point about doublelift's champion pool is 100% irrelevant, because every ADC in NA has the same champion pool of 17 marksmen, and everyone's has been reduced. But hey, thanks for the petty insults.
lm Snarkk Let's just completely ignore how he said that WildTurtle has had a variety of experience playing many champions in other roles in his soloqueue grind and assume that all the ADCs are in the same situation. Let's also ignore how Flame as a toplaner is an extremely talented bruiser player and could not fully showcase his skills in the past seasons where it's been mainly CC tanks toplane. It's almost like you filter out anything that goes against what you believe without any consideration as to why others are making their claims.
