Lani, you won my heart with this song, not only “Brasil ‘66”, you did it there too.

That was BRILLIANT! I swear a lot if people who still to this day consider this an unofficial Bond due to the fact it was made by another studio would have accepted this great and vastly underrated film with open arms had the makers been able to use the theme song and bun barrel opening. It's one of the few Bond films that I personally never tire of due to Connery's brilliant performance as a realistically aging Bond, Klaus as a super slimy lead villain and Ms. Carrere's fabulous femme fatale Fatima Blush. Great one liners, great little action stunt set pieces (something SADLY missing from the modern Bond films), and a story that I've always loved. In my opinion the only thing missing was the theme song and other John Barry underlying music throughout. It had great babes, great locales, great escape situations, a very nice motorcycle chase, cool underwater sequences, and very charismatic leads. I loved it when it first came out and still love it to this day!

As a huge James Bond fan, I've seen all of the movies countless times. That's the way the movie should have opened. Brilliant!

Damn, this is how the movie SHOULD have opened. Nice work!

this is the way it should have been 💯% either this or Phyllis Hyman opening and of course this as the closing song too.

Never Say Never again, For Your eyes only, and The Spy Who Loved Me are some of my favorite songs from all the Bond themes. If your going to have naked women silhouettes on screen, I like female singers that have a fun sound to go with it. If your going for a masculine soundtrack then Bond should be the focus.

Great re-edit - this is what we needed to say back then!

I really like this. I thinks it’s much better than the opening of the original… leaves you thinking has 007 being killed before the opening title pops up. Well done. 👍🏻

I love this version. I really like Lani Halls rendition of this theme!

100 times better! I wanted to do this myself. Would LOVE a copy of the movie without the music so I could edit in some John Barry magic. Well done!

NSNA remains my favorite Bond film. This was Sean Connery's best Bond performance.

The guy looked like he could hardly do the moves. This is a remake of Thunderball which was actually Connery's best performance and his favorite as well.

@@johnnyskinwalker4095Wasn’t that From Russia With Love? Though I would agree with Thunderball being his best performance, it’s the last time he really gave it his all, until this film perhaps.

I know the producers of this film were under strict guidelines for what they can and cannot use....But just imagine if they had gone ahead and opened the film exactly like this. Lawsuits up the ass lmao!

    • @shettrick

That's true for sure. Our point here was not to suggest that NSNA have used music from the EON-produced films, but to show how much better the movie could have been if they had better original music more in the style of the Bond films instead of what they chose to use

It could be done in "official" Bond style now as EON Productions has ownership of NSNA.

Original! ... I like this opening scene and Never Say Never Again must be like this good job My friend 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 the only one minor is you forget put Rowan Atkinson in a cast title, if you do it will more kick ass 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Great edit! Love the John Barry music, although I think the sound effects are just a tad too loud. Generally, they're almost barely audible (sometimes, not even so) especially under the music and such. Everything's perfectly synced, but it's clear the sounds were all added in post.
Wish the film could have opened like this! Although, as big of a Connery and Never Say Never Again fan that I am, I'm fond of the original. Great what if fan edit! :D

Haha. Revenge since Ian Fleming and EON never gave credit to Kevin Mcglory his cowriting credit. They tried for years to shut him out. The singer is Herb Alpert's wife. She was in Brasil 66.

    • @rwboa22
      @rwboa22 3 года назад

In the version for the ending credits, Herb Alpert does a trumpet solo in the end of the song. Herb, with the Tijuana Brass, also did the theme to the non-EON version of "Casino Royale" and is rumored to be playing the trumpet for Louis Armstrong in the song, "We Have All The Time In The World" for "On Her Majesty's Secret Service".

Before seeing this, I liked the original opening as I though it was different and cool, but now I see that having a pop song over the action means the scene is just doing too much and you have to make a conscious effort to ignore one or the other.
This, though, is incredible! There's so much tension, which the original never had.
But I'm dying to know: how did you get the sound effects on there? Is this an original print without the music?

Thanks, glad this gave you a new perspective on opening you already liked.
If you read caption you'll see I can't and don't take credit for most of this, including sound effects, which I agree are done amazingly well by RUclipsr PSPegasus. All I did was replace the Lani Hall song over titles and insert her credits.
