There were times this season when the players did not have or show that "killer" instinct / mentality to put teams away. While I'm not a fan of what NIL is doing, these guys earn it having to answer stupid questions like, "how are you feeling right now." Tarheels for life; thanks for the body of work fellas', K sent into reitrement, National Championship appearance, the annual NCSU beat down, and we beat Flopsalotowski and Duke twice this year, along with a regular season championship! It was utterly baffling how you bench EC. The offense looked terrible. No motion, no plays ran. The offense flows through EC. What they were doing obviously wasn’t working. The most frustrating thing is they didn’t win that game. That team is very beatable. We played our worst half ever. A historically bad half and we were still right there at the end. Despite the questionable coaching decisions if RJ has a mediocre day we win.
The blame goes to the lack of intensity on both ends. We didn't play Carolina ball. Our worst loss was to Connecticut by 11 I think. The eventual Championship team. Not bad.

2 bad plays in a row by JWhit and it was a rap. There was no chance winning the game after those 2 back to back plays with a minute or less left in the game. When you look on the court and 2 non starters are in the game in crunch time late, it was inevitable on the outcome.
It wasn't just the late closeout by JWhit on that 3 point play, it was the half hearted double team from Bacot when he was trying to cover too much distance. Sears baited him into that. UNC was focused on Sears so he was setting up teammates. Alabama was focused on RJ and he kept driving into the trees and jacking up wild shots. UNC was a perimeter shooter short last night. Oats had Nelson on the weakest shooter and Nelson spent the second half playing help defense and wreaking havoc.
Total choke job. Heads need to roll. This team should have gotten to Final Four at the very least. Another year of wasted talent due to shitting the bed at the worst time and not adjusting coaching wise. If I were UNC, I would back up the brinks truck and hire Nate Oats.
