    I'm in america and I'm about to tackle these on my 2012, good video, I was worried about the tie rods thinking I'd have to pop em out but doesn't look like you have to.

    Great video! I think it would have been good to underline that similar method is not possible with Passat B5 or B5.5 because the front suspension doesn't have bolted wheel bearing on those cars and you need a hydraulic press to replace the bearing on those cars.

    You got super lucky. We had to take our hubs to a garage to have them pressed out on a Hydrolic press, because they matter what we did we could not get them out. Ours were welded in place by that rust.
    I have never seen so much rusted solid piece of my life.
    I couldn’t even find a tool that would remove this hub.

      I have a special too to remove the wheel hubs on any car, it cost about 100 euros or dollars, it's very easy if you have a tool like that, anyway I'm glad you could remove them in the end. Thank you for supporting me 🙏

    Does that side of suspension then need a wheel alignment?

    • @HOWTODO0828
      @HOWTODO0828  Год назад +1

      No sir, you don't have to do an alignment after replacing the bearing 🙏

    How tough it’s for a beginner. My only concern is getting off the cv axle and breaking loose on the wheel bearing. Seems it took lot of effort for you

      @HOWTODO0828  Год назад +1

      Yes, în some cases the CV asle bolt can be very stuck and it's hard to remove it, but with some good tools and patience you can do it, one tip for you it's to hammer the bolt in the same time as you undo it. Cheers

    ‼️❌‼️⛔️This is so wrong. You need to loosen the central nut when the wheel is still on and vehicle is on the ground. You take the center cap off, loose the central nut till it goes easy and then you can lift the car, take wheel off etc. Otherwise you will end up with broken nut that holds brake disc, and it does not matter, that someone is pressing the brake pedal - this does not work!!!‼️‼️‼️❌ And same with tightening, instal the center nut, tight it just normal and then, when the wheel is on and vehicle is on the ground again tight it to speified torque. And DONT PUT a grease in there, put there ceramic paste.

      Yes, you are right but there it's still other ways to losen up the bold from the axle, you can use the bolt wich you use to tight the wheels to block the brake disc from not spinning and in this way you will not broke the little stud wich hold the brake disc mounted to the hub.
      To make a summary, yes it's good to do it like you said but there are more methods to do it, and anyone can do it how it likes 🙏thanks for the feedback

      @@HOWTODO0828 but according your tutorial with pressing the brakes you end up only with breaking the brake disc bolt. you should pin up my comment to prevent any damage.
