I have a 2008 HSV Grange with similar wheels and similar amount of gutter rash. I successfully repaired them myself by using coarse sandpaper to get rid of the sharp burns, then some body filler to fill in the gaps, sand it back as well as all the old paint then sourced the genuine HSV Silver Gold paint from BCS auto paints along with some clear lacquer. For a couple of hundred in materials a few hours and some patience I was pleased with how well they came up! Don’t forget to use proper etch pri,er before paining bare surfaces though.
@@CurtisLSA if it’s any consolation I’m no talented mechanic I work in IT and my cars are escape to sanity outside of work. It’s low risk just ensure that you clean any dirt, dust or grease off the wheels first as part of prepping some would say strip all the old paint first (I didn’t so time will tell) but so far I’m happy with result.
Do it yourself. I'm in a similar spot with a motorcycle, if you have time and a bit of patience along with RUclips guidance you can fix a lot of stuff. It also helps you bond with a vehicle. Godspeed Curtis.
I'm in Sydney with a 17 SSVR which wears the HF-20s in gloss black. Injust has them completely re-engineered by CNC Wheels in Lansvale NSW. They did them in Gloss Black Powder Coat. Brilliant result- literally! $300 per wheel. Bargain.
Senator should remain as Senators, their wheels have already been updated as part of the conversion to a Senator and most definitely should be retained. They don't seem too bad on the video anyway but in saying that videos can mask things.
Great analysis, thank you! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
@@No1karez thanks yes youtube dont like links being posted as they think its a bot or scam . Ill have a quick look later when home thanks for your info
Get them repaired....unless you can find a good second hand set that are same design... Being shadow chrome, may be quite expensive to do....I see your dilemma.

I really like the factory VE senator wheels so I would go for the refurb.
Thanks for your comment 👍🏼
Mostly a ford guy but a car enthusiast above all, big fan of the senator, im in. 👍🏼
Restore them.
Welcome aboard!
I would be inclined to get them fixed. They look good and suit the car.
They do suit it yes
I like keeping factory just for resale value and some Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres
sounds good yes
Get em repaired to keep original. Unless the repair cost is WAY more than getting them replaced.
need to do some shopping over christmas break to see whats out there
1:48 , haha. Love that little hint towards Adrian Portelli 😅
