This Captain's best video ever made, in my opinion, from the standpoint of instruction. a true dancer of 'salsa' needs to have the physicality that comes with the dance skillset of Rumba Guaguanco. The 'muelleo' .... the bouncing, this is called the "muelleo", is the key to dancing really well in salsa, timber, etc. Learn it. so much more difficult than it looks. A LOT of repetition is required here! but it's fun and a great workout.

La salsa no se estudia ni se aprende. Puedes aprender coreografía y algunos pasos, pero a bailar no se aprende. Bailar es un movimiento natural de cada quien. Si eso fuera asi grandes bailarinas y bailarines bailaran salsa como algo normal. Se aprende coreografía, pasos, algunos movimientos pero nunca serán naturales. La salsa no se aprende. esos son cuentos cubanos como todo lo que hacen ellos. puros cuentos. Es mi opinion. La tuya también es valiosa y se respeta.
Esa factura que tu tratas de imponerle esta fuera de contesto, pues si es cierto que el mundo tomo copio la mayoria de los pasos basicos bailables cubanos de lo que dentro de la rumba guaguanco , y el son y sobre todo el baile casino han sido esos que como Usted le llama salsa un termino mal llamado comercial que en realidad en su mayoria son pasos del ese baile que se llama casino, nacido en Cuba
I guess, if your goal is to dance an unattractive and unsophisticated looking dance, that appears to lack both grace or fluidity, then you have found the right one. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though so I presume this dance appears beautiful to you. Regardless of my opinion, if it appeals to you then dance away. I'll stick with the dances that I find appealing.
Thank you for your comment, everyone is valuable, everyone teaches. I have been dancing for 35 years, I have met many techniques.. If you write more details, I will probably find some wisdom.
Why watch a video on guaguancó if you're going to criticize it? If you dance salsa you dance to a Rumba clave. And if you dance to Timba you dance usually to guaguancó clave and add these movements in.
Respect your roots.
