Woooo!!! Yaaasss CUBA! My sister island! So much culture~ so much color and .. Saboorrrrrr~ mmm!!! Proves Africa was a BIG BIG BIG influence in our Caribbean ways. We are basically like Africans that speak Spanish ♥️♥️♥️
Those who think cubans look like Desi Arnaz or Fidel Castro don't have the correct image of Cuba at all. Anybody who thinks Cuba is a monolithically Spanish-speaking nation don't understand Cuba at all. Those who don't consider Cuba to be an African nation don't understand Cuba at all.
Que Medio me daba la Columbia. Increible. No me dejaban ver, pero en El Escalon los vimo todo. Yoruba traditions so deep, traveled so far...salvery at its height. Amazing world we live in.
I have been searching for this full documentary online for YEARS, ever since I first saw it. Where can we see it? It's so good and it's a pity it's not easily available.
Americans refuse to pronouce 'foreign' words correctly. In the UK it's the same. Why? Being stubborn. And also, because in English the sound of the letter U is 'Uh' (as in umbrella). But in Spanish it's 'ooh', (as in room) Also, in English the sound of the letter O is (often) 'oh' (as in dome). In Spanish, O is never 'oh', it's 'o' (as in dot) As a result of all this, Spanish Football managers in the English Premier League always say 'fock oooos', when pronouncing the word focus. In English it's foe kuss. In English Rum & Coke is rum, not room, and so rhumba is 'rum-bah', and not roomba.

Ahhh, I love it. The way the guaguancó and yambú is danced competitively between the man and the woman reminds me of Brazilian lundú marajoara.
The Rumba, especially Guaguanco is my favourite dance of all time :)
Got to love that history. Rumba over everything else.
Waooooo! Impresionante!

Love the video, but bro - Rroom-ba, not ram-ba.
Africa in Cuba
Is the opening song an actual song? I like it, lol!

Mate I just don't know how you can make a whole video and not hear yourself saying 'rum-bah' when everyone else is saying 'roomba'. You had one job.
I know right? It's so grating on the ears😭😭
