spawnsire ruling. 6/15/2010 In a casual game, the cards you cast from outside the game come from your personal collection. In a sanctioned event, those cards must come from your sideboard. Note that you can't cast cards from exile this way; exile is a zone in the game.
From the official ruling: 903.1. In the Commander variant, each deck is led by a legendary creature designated as that deck’s commander. The Commander variant was created and popularized by fans; an independent rules committee maintains additional resources at MTGCommander. (n3t... the filter is removing my comment). The Commander variant uses all the normal rules for a Magic game, with the following additions. And from MTGCommander (stated in the previous rule): 10. Parts of abilities which bring other traditional card(s) you own from outside the game into the game (such as Living Wish; Spawnsire of Ulamog; Karn, the Great Creator; Wish) do not function in Commander. Also from the official ruling: 903.11. If a player is allowed to bring a card from outside the game into a Commander game, that player can’t bring a card into the game this way if it has the same name as a card that player had in their starting deck, if it has the same name as a card that the player owns in the current game, or if any color in its color identity isn’t in the color identity of the player’s commander. So yeah, you can't use cards outside the game unless your playgroup allows it. Remember that a lot of rules overwrite others... just like rule 0 can overwrite anything.
My comment have been autodeleted like 3 times... but you're wrong. the rule 903.1 that follow up with the rule 10 of the mentioned website of the rule 903.1 overwrite that.
@@ViXoZuDo 903.1 mentions nothing of the sort. 903.11 states :903.11. you only have 4 lands that tap for colorless i think you need a bit more with cards like kozilek's command the pain lands are good for this and be carefull with your blink effects, they will not double cast triggers like spawn-gang commander thanks for the video i'll use this as a base to do a similar deck :)
I get that. I don’t want to to go infinite all the time but it can do so. The goal I like is making a bunch ok tokens and effectively Attacking with annihilator 10+ on turn 6
It sure can. A lot of the infinite I like in the deck is really getting infinite experience counters. I like spawnsire as a big dude that you can just dump mana into. It’s really worst case, pay 2 mana and sacrifice 2 guys for 2 experience counters
Stoked to help! Mondrak is great too! I didn’t put him in because I didn’t want to have too many of those double effects and really because he isn’t an eldrazi lmao. Still really Good
It could use more draw and a lot of the infinite mana combos aren’t easy to get. It’s generally just playing eldrazi displacer+ eldrazi that enters with 2+ guys+ token doubler. Even with the infinite mana, it is still infinite colorless and there is only so much you can do with that
I think that mass land destruction would be reasonable in this deck. You're not using it to delay opponents, you're using it the same turn or the turn before you activate Azlask and swing
Idk because the scions annihilate 1 and that’s essentially MLD. That’s the goal because they can’t keep everything when you swing at them and one person is just shut out one at a time and unable to catch up. MLD will just hurt you in the end
@@poppmagic I mostly agree with you. I suppose where I'm differing is that specific MLD "can't" hurt you, if you play it the turn before you go off, at the earliest? Leave opponents off of a good chunk of their mana, and then your Annihilator triggers can be more sure to sweep up tokens, artifacts, blockers, etc? Maybe it's just too "Win More" too include, now that I think about it Edit: This is also what I love most about Magic and EDH... We're both "correct", and that's what makes our game so much fun 😊
Yesterday I built a -100$ deck for this guy and honestly it wasn't that hard. So many of these scion spawning cards are extremely cheap, so the only real struggle is not being able to utilize token doublers. Luminous broodmoth is filthy in this deck. Each scion you sacrifice will come back with flying so you can sac it again. (Edit: this is apparently not true) Exsanguinate is a good win con as well.
Uh, Luminous Broodmoth returns creatures to the battlefield only if they still exist, but tokens cease to exist the moment they touch the graveyard ( = they die) which means this doesn't work, unfortunately...
@ZeroShadow90 bro what? That's completely stupid... luminous broodmoth doesn't say anything about graveyards... it just says "return to the battlefield" theirs no reason it can't return from non existence... whoever decided on that ruling is a douche.
@ZeroShadow90 wow... that's a terrible ruling... luminous broodmoth doesn't say anything about dying or graveyard... why can't it "return to the battlefield" from non-existance... oh well thanks for the info
@@poppmagic I think it was erated when Karn, the great creator got printed back in war of the spark as it can fetch artifacts from outside the outside the game
I like yavimaya because it essentially just takes the spot of a forest and same for urborg just with upside. Cascading cataracts is good because it taps for the colorless because the deck still needs those effects and it’s an easy filter for Azlask’s ability. Chromatic lantern is good and I’m surprised I didn’t add it
You can build this budget pretty easily imo. Like take away a couple really expensive cards like ancient tomb and some of the pricier lands and you’ll be fine
Parallel Lives > Doubling Season. You don't need the counters so don't pay the extra money or mana. Experience counters go into players and won't work with D.S.
I did run him in my first draft but cut him because ultimately, I’d rather just have another token maker. It’s cool hitting someone for a lot but we are just on the annihilator 1 plan. Just makes more sense for the deck to go wide rather than just one dude
@princeofpoverty4063 otharri is also good but I think the experience counters don’t really matter that much. Like all we want is annihilate our opponents lands. The tricky party with otharri is if you have low experience counters, it’s just like weird engine and more often that not, we’d rather just spend the mana getting scions
I really don't like the Forsaken Monument in the list with how few things that tap for colorless you end up having... personally I'd cut a a few shocks / triomes for the painlands, that tap for colorless (which is what you'll mostly need), giving the forsaken monument more purpose (and seriously cutting on the deck price)
Pain lands are a great include and can probably replace shocks all together. Forsaken monument is great for ramping but also giving out board +2/+2 is really good and gaining 2 life whenever we cast a spell is also no joke
@@poppmagic true, also the greatest problem I found of the deck right out of the box was the total impossibility to ramp in any way due to the lack of basic lands or lands with basic types, and surely if you have to choose triomes are better than shocks, at least in a pentacolor Having the forsaken monument on the field though, when all your lands and artifacts tap for colorless... It's just game over
The whole you cant use wish and other similarly worded cards in commander because theres no side board is the rule 0 and only for tournament play its a meaningless statement in casual formats
@christophercombs7561 it took one time a buddy was told his wish didn’t work in an EDH tournament that functionally lost him the game for me to avoid them. Obviously do what is best for your playgroup, but my group tries to stick to tournament rules (outside of take backs lol)
@christophercombs7561 yeah man everyone’s group is so different with what they do it’s important to just follow your own groups rather than stick to overarching rules
Finally my experience counter tribal deck is complete
I just heard about that deck yesterday and I'm stoked to build one!
I think Azlask is very cool in design, small and sneaky type of commander :p
he really just goes nuts but you gotta be careful because people will kill him on sight
