You’re right that It doesn’t matter so much in this list, but still relevant to talk about if anything makes things have any additives, say a Torbran or whatever is stolen or on your field now, things change. Commander is just to wacky and unpredictable lol

Well playing a lizard would trigger that automatically, but Gev is cool because he checks for EACH opponent that lost life, so when you cast a lizard, it hits one opponent for one counter, but our pingers hit each opponent, meaning our guys enter with counters = to our number of opponents

Gev will only get better with time. Wizards will drop more lizards every set so you’ll always have at least a few new options, which is nice

Love primal surge. Honestly, just take out the instants and sorceries and just add more mana rocks, utility enchantments. There’s a ton of great 4+ cmc enchantments and artifacts that make the deck real good

It’s not a nonbo necessarily. The deck still makes a lot of just food tokens. They won’t trigger off Ygra but other token food entering would

@poppmagic it is a nonbo. If you want to run AM this way, you're better off running chatterfang or hobbits.

@punk6119 I think it’s fine. I’m saying when you produce tokens from our random generation, you’ll get the extra treasure. Sure you miss on the creatures, but that’s fine because we still get so much generation. Plus you need to think of Ygra dying/not on the field. We have enough food production where I think it’s relevant. A nonbo would indicate that it actively works against the deck where at worst, it’s just a body and at best, it combos off with nuka vending machine, KCI, etc

Even after the deck tech, I still need to revisit him lol

chaos is always tricky since its just hard to reliably have a gameplan lol

thanks man! it really depends on the boardstate. I'd say in most cases, its better to get down ygra first just so you can get all of that food synergy. If your opponent is holding up countermagic or whatever, just throw down any other 4 drop because ygra can have his commander tax too high

@@poppmagic you are but not the cart. I'd recommend both honestly gotta ram that damage through! I run aggravated assault +5 more extra combat spells to help me dig for it lol mine plays more like a storm deck you let me hit once and the odds of me drawing a ton in second main proceeding to win is nasty. I have a rather competitive meta at my lgs though I tell people this is not even close to a precon anymore I wouldn't bring it out against anyone not playing optimized decks

Yeah, He is amazing because you can use Urza, Prince of Kroog to make a soldier token version of Molten Gatekeeper. Then if you are running Brudiclad, you can turn all your servos into Molten Gatekeepers with Brudiclad for a big machine gunning.

It’s an exchange so the opponents life is 13 and it’s toughness is whatever their life was

They aren’t put on the stack, but you they get to chose the order in which the replacement effects happen.

@@poppmagicYea put on the stack wasn’t the correct phrasing. Choosing the order they are applied is still only decided by the controller. So your opponents don’t get to decide the order of your damage doubler/tripler effects.

I’m off coat of arms generally because sure it helps me but it also really helps opponents. Also ideally, I’m swinging out and don’t have a ton of blockers. Cathars crusade is definitely Good but just so hard to keep track of lol

@@poppmagicI would stick with Triumph of the Hordes. It’s not often you’re going to have a big enough board to kill all 3 players at once so if you cast it early to kill 1-2 players the 3rd player can full swing at you since you can’t block, if you are holding it to magically kill all 3 players that means it’s a dead card until you can do that late game. Triumph lets you kill 1-3 players much easier and isn’t as much of a dead card earlier on in the game. If you only kill 1-2 players you don’t have to worry about the crackback of not being able to block.

He is just a risky deck imo. Huge win potential, but that also means he can just get steamrolled when it’s not your turn

Yeah idk why but I wanted this to be a “budget friendly” build without exactly being budget but there are strict upgrades that you can make, like seedborn over wilderness rec. the other suggestions are good and honestly, I feel like she would be better than hippo as a can’t commander. Maybe a hot take but hippo isn’t as playable in 2024

Milling out isn’t always as easy as it seems and since we aren’t full on that plan, I don’t want to enable grave or reanimate players. We can win with the mill but it is not the full strategy, so I wanted to make sure that no body is getting to far ahead. Also, we draw a lot of cards and want to make sure that we don’t deck ourselves

Yeah I can see that, your brew is more flexible, more adaptive than mine. Mines all on drawing my deck out to a lab man or similar win con. Or hitting that 20 toed, trisk. I guess my brew doesn't count as group hug!

@jessewills7441 to be fair, my deck is only flexible because I make them to be primers. Like you can make a more cohesive deck than mine

The guy is not right ... TP will prpotect from ANY damage

If you have something like Questing Beast on the table, he will still take damage. His life total will not change, but he will receive the commander damage as damage can not be prevented.

@@dyne313 yeah that guy is nuts. I think there could be a lot of sick new swaps for the deck, but overall it should still functionally be the same. That’s the tricky part about making decks for sets that aren’t out yet. Once sets leak the deck needs big swaps

I’m trying! It’s hard because I don’t really script the videos at all. I generally just have the main point I want to get across on why I ran the card in my list and just do it all it one take

@@poppmagic I get it, usually when you don't script you run into to these "ummm" more frequently, if you prefer not to script try to slow down the pace of talking a little bit, it will give you more time to think about your next point and don't feel the urge to fill every second of silence with something, it's better for the overall flow.

Hmm I’d say maybe its current value is like $700? But to be fair, a lot of the cards have way cheaper alternatives and I’ve traded for a lot of the fancier cards you see. Without all of the bling, it’s probs around $400.

Yeah I don’t mind going nuts with lands in these videos because I just know people will do what makes sense. I like to add lands that I think are important and makes sense for the deck, but everyone will either go nuts with like fetches and shocks and some will go tap lands and both are fine
