I love narrative biblical songwriting. Even if its nots particularly praise and worship focused, it's just so deep. Great group, thanks for exposing! Mahogany should take over MTV.
Feels like they laughed about something so hard just before filming this and now he can't keep it serious. His smile is so contagious I can't stop smiling now
This song feels pretty personal to me, cause my is Noa (though the female version, not the male Noah/Noach he's actually talking about. But It sounds the same in English), and I serve in the israeli navy. I feel like he's personally calling out to me, and that feels oddly comforting. Thank you for this piece of art.
My son's name Noah. He is just 6months old. And i know what do you mean. I looked at him and felt the same. I hope he grow to be a nice person. And get busy living regards from Brazil
Every single thing about this song is perfect. I just love that it's a biblical referenced song- and it doesn't even matter if you're a believer or not; it's just so easy to appreciate this song for what it is. On point!
This was the first video of Amber Run I ever watched a couple of years ago. Having seen them 3 times live since, this is still my favourite song. Gives me goosebumps every time.
"Noah" My name is Noah, the sea is my home Oh, and this small wooden boat will be my throne I'm proud of what I've built and the things that I've done And all of the people I've learned to love Singing Noah, Noah My name is Judas and my hands are tied And even my presence is a warning sign That wherever you go and whatever you do Oh, your past will always follow you Singing Noah, Noah [x2] So why don't we light a fire And oh let the flames grow higher So why don't we light a fire and leave the rest behind Cause life's for living right Noah, Noah Singing Noah, Noah Gotta get busy living or get busy dying Oh and I'd hate to see you left behind You gotta get busy living or get busy dying Oh and I'd hate to see you left behind Singing Noah, Noah [x3] My name is Noah and the sea is my home Oh and this small waiting boat will be my throne
+Jono Hornby we tried and are still trying to do a similar session here. It's called JHB Sessions. We're always looking for avenues to grow and assistance.
Nice 1! Im keen to see how that develops. It's a bit harder to get things off the ground in Durban, but there are also people trying to make things happen. I hope they see fruition soon!
+Jono Hornby that's true. It's tough but I rate with the recent developments in local music, the appetite for live acoustic showcases will grow... I hope. *crossing fingers*
Saw these guys supporting Kodaline in March, they really are amazing. Chatted to the drummer (blue shirt) for about 20 minutes before Kodaline came on, sound lads.
This is the best song with my name on it that I've ever heard. It may be the only one, but that doesn't stop it from being fantastic! Excellent performance!
+eyesdark08 being gay and christian is no different from being christian and prideful, christian and lustful, christian and a liar..... we all have our own thing but we overcome it through Christ. Jesus died for it all. Because of Him, I am free.
+Jimmy Fisher Yea I agree it is similar, as long as a christian realizes their sin, and constantly tries to overcome it. Because as soon as christians accepts their sin as who they are, thats when it is a problem. +Renee Harvey, thats why Christians can't get married in the church, because the Bible says its a sin, its not a sin to struggle with homosexuality, but is a sin to live out your desires, just like many other sins.
In a song titled Noah, imagery related to the bible is probably going to occur. Just because there is religious imagery does not indicate a 'heavy' influence on Mumford. Mumford are great but the band itself don't seem to be influenced by them. Listen to their covers or other songs, they are a unique band on their own. Their harmony with his amazing voice make this band truly great
I miss you Noah mathwig. I hope you find what you need in life. I’ll never forget the time we had together. I will never forget smoking with you in the forest for hours talking bout nonsense. I will never forget the way you looked at me and sighed after cracking a Dad joke. I’ll never forget how you gave me everything I ever wanted but most of all I’ll never forget how much you hurt. Hurt to love you, hurt to lose you. You’re a heartbreaker, and a damn good one at that. I miss you and I love you, and I don’t think I’ll ever stop.
this is the best version to this song hands down (why do people say "hands down" when somethings awesome lol) anyways....best version. the snapping is kinda weird and loud but still best version "hands down" folkin bules is the best genre of music "hands down"
I really want to know what this song is about, I know the lead singer said its no biblical but he has no problem if that's how people interpret so what are people's views? 😌
Maybe it's about not getting caught in preconceived notions of what others believe you to be. It's about seizing the day no matter who you are- Weather you are a Noah or a Judas- at the end of the day we all die so what matters most is just making the most out of what you are given.
Bands like this is what i want to hear on the radio, just amazing
Open a new RUclips tab with the sound of rain and listen to this at the same time. Pure magic.
that's beautiful... thanks for the suggestion.
No problem, I wanted to share the magic :)
***** awesome!
oh god, this is such a great share. like life-saving. thank you so fuckin much. i am so in love with this sound
You are so incredibly right. adding the rain seriously gave me the best type of goosebumps. Thank you for that suggestion, melpaquot

I really love Amber Run... Actually all of the people in the mahogany sessions I have loved. I would like something this cool here in South Africa.
Yeah me too. There has been some songs from a sofa sessions in the past, but nothing consistent.
+Jono Hornby we tried and are still trying to do a similar session here. It's called JHB Sessions. We're always looking for avenues to grow and assistance.

2020 now! they look so incredibly young
Awh back when they were called Amber and not Amber Run :)
GameOfThronessss I was wondering about that! Why did they change the name?
Renee Vaughter because they found out a lot of other bands around the world were called amber and they didn't wanna get sued for it haha
Oh I see! That makes sense. Thanks for letting me know! :)

Excellent performance!
One of my favourite songs of all time
this is what I'm listening too as 2020 arrives
"My name is Judas and my hands are tied."
HOLY SHIT LET'S TALK ABOUT THIS LYRIC UNTIL WE ARE ALL DEAD BECAUSE WOW.
I feel like this is what Christian gay ppl feel all the time
+eyesdark08 being gay and christian is no different from being christian and prideful, christian and lustful, christian and a liar..... we all have our own thing but we overcome it through Christ. Jesus died for it all. Because of Him, I am free.
then why can't gay people get married in the church? #Bye
Amber run

I know he says it's not biblical but it truly could be.

This song sounds like David by These Your Children
British version of the head and the heart?
I really want to know what this song is about, I know the lead singer said its no biblical but he has no problem if that's how people interpret so what are people's views? 😌
