it's so rare to find an artist these days who doubles as a skilled poet, but hozier is such a talented and passionate lyricist. we don't even deserve his music
Hope you’re well, and yes it’s why we love listening to Hozier too. He sings of love, joy & sorrow, of longing, political strife & the journey forward. His lyrics and melodies are so deeply heartfelt, resonant & healing.🫶🫶
Compare him and his masterpieces like this. cherry Wine and TMTC to brainless sex crazed bum shaking bimbos like Ariana, Jennifer Lopez and the worst of all: Nikki Minaj with their mindless drivel like: Bang Bang, Booty and *shudders* Anaconda
Molly O Callaghan Yes! I hate the way everything in this generation is so sexuaised and crude. Like whatever happened to songs with meaning or emotion?
Don't Worry, His Song List Is Really Small. He's Already Blown Up. Really Famous. Really Amazing Live And Touring Constantly. Afrer He drops an album or two more, he's gonna get that grammy and drown. In Pussy.
Notice how in most of his songs he's mentioning "your other man" "she stains the sheets of some other" and so on.. this is how true music is born, from grief
I dream about having my own place, open window with the wind gently blowing in, and Hozier playing on a record player. It’s a simple dream but I can’t imagine anything more peaceful.
Lyrics Babe There's something tragic about you Something so magic about you Don't you agree? He. ALONE is us in ourselves to which is what indulges us to indulge in him. He's the epitome of our deepest self. Gorgeous music! Love it to the ends of time of sand itself
+Emmy Rowe I was going to as I'm super super obsessed. My mum was going to order me tickets for January but they were all sold out. I only live a train away from where he is performing and I can't go.
Can we appreciate the other people back there? I don't know their names and that makes me sad, cause music is rarely a one man show and the backing vocals, percussion and strings make this a beautiful song as much as the breath-taking lyrics and voice. That cello solo was awesome!
It's too dim to see everyone *g* but I can tell you that the bassist and backup singer is Alex Ryan, Hozier's best buddy, regular bassist, and music director for his last tour. A very talented man in his own right!
This is the longest I have been stuck up on a song...there is something so beautiful about this human. ...his voice ...he's so down to earth ... I am just going to listen to this unplugged version until I get sick of it !
I always get this wierd, indescribable and restless feeling inside me whenever I hear truly amazing music. This time my heart beats faster than ever! I seriously can't get over this song!
Just imagine: Crowley and Aziraphale walking past a street performer in London - it's Hozier, and he's singing this song. Crowley recognises him as a guy he met in a bar a while ago; the one he told all about him and Aziraphale. He realises that Hozier turned his words into song, and nods at him as he walks past. He mentions it in passing to Aziraphale, who (being incredibly flattered) researches more about this artist. He soon realises that most of his songs (which he had posted on RUclips) somehow link to him and Crowley. He smiles, and performs a small miracle. Soon, Hozier becomes popular, and people really get to see his talent, thanks to an angel and a demon. This was just a bit of a word vomit tbh, sorry if it doesn't make sense.
concept: crowley spills the beans to him when he is drunk in that bar, during the time he thinks aziraphale is dead. Hozier opens his notebook and notes everything down. what you wrote takes place on the street upon which aziraphale opens a new bookshop.
I just love the rawness of this live version. The candles, the lighting, Hozier's voice and From Eden's melody supported by his bandmates. One of my favorite performances out there!
2020 sucks, Hozier makes it suck less. We need more of this energy! So talented. Controlled yet raw. He seems genuine and deep. I can't decide what song is my favorite.

I'm just rediscovering this performance this beautiful morning and got bit by the "oh man i obsessively love this performance" and have since been listening basically on repeat. This and "Cherry Wine" from this session is really really great and his openess and vulnerability in his lyrics are something to acknowledge and compliment on. Incredible.
It's 2019 ladies and I'm confused bc I think that his vocals got even better after all those years. I didn't know this was possible. God he is perfection ❤️
I listen to everything from heavy metal, hardcore, punk rock, jazz, opera, bluegrass, and more and there is only one way you could dislike this song... you have a terrible ear for quality music. The lyrics alone are absolutely brilliant.
Been busy the last few years too busy to listen to the feel good shit i used to but its time i get back to the music... Thanks ellah socks for puttin my on hozier... Dude has mad talent
If by "better, more lively, crisper sounding" you mean the gain is cranked then yes. That is what people have grown to expect. This version by Mahogany is a far superior recording to start, every instrument is tracked much better. It also has a better overall sound quality. Live Session has a good bit of distortion, and the instruments are not represented as they should, they all bleed into each other.
You know an artist is a really great one when their live performances are even better than the recorded ones... ❤️✨ I'm really thankful for his existence, and even more grateful to be alive at the same time as him... What a multitalented legend 👑🙏

ok. but his little soft "hi im hozier" actually made me tear up a little bit. his singing voice is so strong but hes so //soft// i might cry.
SAME OH MY GOD nearly cried!
Seems me to be a byproduct of single mothers.
He’s such a gentle soul. I think I’m in love with him.
Why would you cry about that?
He's quite precious, so humble. Something so wholesome about him. That's what makes his soft opening so compelling.

The only other I've ever seen whose lyrics are as evocative and poignant is dermot kennedy.

Thessalonica Fahra Williams yup, i just listened to cherry wine, and thought the same thing.
Thessalonica Fahra Williams ugh he’s damn near perfect
His range is pretty phenomenal
The beauty of a baritone
Also with so much body to those notes. His range and the way he can excess it is amusing!

the fact that your name is '404 flaw not found' makes this comment hit differently
