I'm 5 minutes into the video. I have respect for what you have to say at times but you make no sense here. I like Elliot but man do I agree with you. Elliot, as much as he talks about how his dad got physical, still shows alot of signs that his dad actually loved him. David Goggin's dad (insofar as I can tell from the comments) sounds like he got physical with no amount of love there. I dont talk to my parents because they were very physically abusive and emotionally abusive. I dont talk to people about my parents unless they ask and if i trust them . Abusing your children is just plain wrong i have kids and treat them with love , respect, understanding, If they do something wrong and need to be punished i just take things away from them that they cherish and it works they respect and love me they dont resent me or fear me . He may not have said it to Trunnis's face but he did indeed forgive his father. He even goes as far to say that "it wasn't his fault" for the brutality he put his family through because Trunnis was abused even worse by his father (David's grandfather). You honestly sound like a fool, Elliott. Real men don't think in terms of alpha and beta. That's for the kids in their teens and twenties who haven't learned shit about life yet.
Alpha and beta exist whether we like it or not. It's a measure of a low quality or high quality man. Just like a ruler is a measure of distance. I'm not saying that Elliot's measure is the ultimate one but he uses the metric to share his opinion on the matter.

You gave a ruler as an example of measurement, well things aren't either big or small, or close or far. There are nuances to size and distance. Some things are bigger or smaller, closer or farther and some things are in between. Alpha and beta exist, yes you are correct but unlike mathematics and measurements, alpha and beta are human constructs, meaning they were not discovered but rather created to explain something our human perception of reality. Even in nature, among wolves for example, alpha and beta doesn't totally capture the relationship within the hierarchy of the pack.

David Goggins completed Ranger, Navy Seal, and TACP schools while in the service. All require not just physical determination, but also tact and intelligence. This video didn't help Elliot. Of all people, he "tries" to make David Goggins look bad and tries to make himself look more like a man. David Goggins did nothing but help people in that book. I used to follow Elliot, but I stopped watching him because I didn't like the direction he was going. After this, in my opinion, he made himself look extremely bad. True Alphas or people who are strong don't put down people who are weaker; they lift them up. And I'm by no means saying Elliot is acting Alpha and David Goggins is weaker in this situation. Overall, this video is sad and Elliot should pull it down.
This logic leads to some very insane conclusions. For example, Would you say the same thing for someone who had animus toward their father because they raped them? My dad used to hand it to me like I was a punk off the street. Had he been supportive I wouldn't have really held it against him, but the fact that he was only there when I was "wrong" makes me furious when I think back on it. Only cared about his other family, as I got older I pretty much did everything on my own and yet he always had something to say. He wasn't a great father, matter of act we wasn't a father at all; he was just an asshole related by name. You could argue and say it was tough love but when I compare myself to my peers who didn't have hands laid on them at all, and was replaced by positive influence, they thrived way better than I ever could have. I try to forgive and forget, but it's hard to forgive and much harder to forget.

He may not have said it to Trunnis's face but he did indeed forgive his father. He even goes as far to say that "it wasn't his fault" for the brutality he put his family through because Trunnis was abused even worse by his father (David's grandfather). You gave a ruler as an example of measurement, well things aren't either big or small, or close or far. There are nuances to size and distance. Some things are bigger or smaller, closer or farther and some things are in between. Alpha and beta exist, yes you are correct but unlike mathematics and measurements, alpha and beta are human constructs, meaning they were not discovered but rather created to explain something our human perception of reality. Even in nature, among wolves for example, alpha and beta doesn't totally capture the relationship within the hierarchy of the pack.

This video didn't help Elliot. Of all people, he "tries" to make David Goggins look bad and tries to make himself look more like a man. David Goggins did nothing but help people in that book. I used to follow Elliot, but I stopped watching him because I didn't like the direction he was going. After this, in my opinion, he made himself look extremely bad. True Alphas or people who are strong don't put down people who are weaker; they lift them up. And I'm by no means saying Elliot is acting Alpha and David Goggins is weaker in this situation. My dad used to hand it to me like I was a punk off the street. Had he been supportive I wouldn't have really held it against him, but the fact that he was only there when I was "wrong" makes me furious when I think back on it. Only cared about his other family, as I got older I pretty much did everything on my own and yet he always had something to say. He wasn't a great father, matter of act we wasn't a father at all; he was just an asshole related by name.
You could argue and say it was tough love but when I compare myself to my peers who didn't have hands laid on them at all, and was replaced by positive influence, they thrived way better than I ever could have. I try to forgive and forget, but it's hard to forgive and much harder to forget.

I think that's ridiculous. And this is coming from someone who thinks David goggins is not a Wiseman.. he's successful productive and a strong doer but not wise when he speaks he mostly memorises rehearsed stuff and spews it to feign like what he's done was because he's philosophically wise rather than he's just an endurance athlete. Also he isn't charismatic but I would not say he's a beta simply because of acknowledging his father's abuse and admitting it isn't right to abuse a kid that way.
