When I was in the world , I used to listen to Bon Jovi. Now I'm in Christ. You cannot have 2 masters, you serve God, or the world ! You cannot be lukewarm. Thus saith the Lord!
I didn't know this was a Christian band...I have been a Bon Jovi fan since the 80's....I was raised in a Pentecostal church....women weren't suppose to wear jewelry...or short dresses or even pants especially to church. We we not suppose to go to movies or anything "of this world" so I hear you. But I'm just curious what you think is bad about Bon Jovi? Do you know much charity work he and his wife of 30 yrs has done and continues to do...he feeds those in need...he has a restaurant for anyone can eat at whether they money to pay or not. There are no prices on his menus. He built a whole neighborhood in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
In Born to be my baby....one of the lines is ."only God knows the reasons but he must have had a reason because you were born to be my baby and I was born to be your man" Switchfoot is going on tour with them...and they are going to sing their songs and if their music is Christian just think of the thousands of people they will be sharing the Christian music to...I think Jesus would like that.

This song I loved ever since I was a kid but when I was homeless with my fiance was one of the songs that kept us together strong we were Living on a Prayer but we made it all the way there. Thank you Jesus

Don't get me wrong tho. The original ROCKS.
Being a composer myself, i understand the depth of what all goes on while building up a song from scratch. There is no comparison with the original. Even if the remake or cover sounds 'better'. That feeling is still intact in the original.

I was lucky enough to see Bon Jovi in Warsaw on July 12, so I saw Switchfoot too! Damn that was epic opening! It's so unfair that this band is underestimated
