@sootch00 Springfield just released a blacked out version of the Emissary. The 4.25” full rail in 9mm and 45acp size looks amazing. Please make a video on the new release. I’m especially wanting to see a close up of the barrel differences between the 4.25” (full ramp) vs the 5”. The blacked out versions retain the SST frame (although Cerokote black).
Got mine a week ago in 9mm, great gun, but with anything there are drawbacks to the gun. 1. Square trigger guard means gun will not fit 90 percent of your 1911 holsters. 2. Unless you have lumber jack hands you will need to hit the fore-grip with a stone or file, way too rough. 3. Mag well will only accept "flat bottom" mags. Magazines that have sort of a curved bottom will bind and not work. Other than that great gun.
@@PedroGarcia-ob5yw As with many of Springer's 1911 chambers they are tight. I mirror polished the feed ramp and chamber. Ran fifty CCI brass case and 100 Freedom Munitions steel case through it yesterday without any malfunctions. The only problems I've ever had was with LAX reloads. I always do the "plunk" test dropping the reload into the barrel prior to shooting them in any of my Springfields. If a reload fails the "plunk" test I use it in a plastic gun, they will feed anything.haha Also running Wilson mags can't hurt if your having any feeding problems. Good luck.

I wish more manufacturers would include _ambi_ safeties on their 1911's. There are a lot more truly ambidextrous people in the 2A community than you would think, myself included. When it comes to 1911's I prefer that everything is included straight from the factory. I am not interested in tinkering with 1911's. It is the one platform that I absolutely adore and yet, have no interest in modifying other than aftermarket grips. Furthermore, I wish there were more standard capacity (double stack) 1911's on the market that didn't cost over $3k+. Yes, I am well aware that Rock Island Armory exists. However, my point remains the same. Nonetheless, I wish Springfield Armory would step up their game and deliver more *'Loaded, Operator & TRP'* models. I would also like to see the *_'EMP Conceal Carry Contour'_* make a return. These Ronin models just don't appease me. Stay classy my friends.
I'm the opposite... I dislike ambi guns. I can manipulate a right-handed gun with my left hand and the safety on the right just makes the gun wider and is in the way.

Any feeding or ejection issues? I've seen a couple of reviews, and in those reviews replies from Emissary 9mm owners, stating that they've had several issues with feeding and ejection.. Several owners commented having these issues even after 800+ rounds through the gun. They were hoping it was a 'break-in period', but doesn't seem like it.
I was just ready to pull the trigger on the Ronin Commander size because I didn't think the 4.25" was available in Emissary. Between the two, which is better? Emissary or Ronin?
When are they going to wise up and start offering these new release models of 1911's with optic cuts? The slides are pretty thin at .90" but a Holosun 507K sitting on top would be awesome. If it came with optic cut I would go buy one tomorrow.
The average round expenditure in self-defense situations is 3 rounds. A 9+1 round 9mm 1911 is more than enough unless you are going into a warzone. Especially is you carry a second or third mag. I own this pistol and I would carry it if I didn't live in Canada where carry was illegal.
Nice gun, my complaint is that Springfield Armory puts a ridiculous polymer (plastic) trigger on this beautiful gun. Springfield, would it have been that much trouble to put a steel or aluminum trigger on this gun? That's my gripe! As usual, Sootch00 does great reviews, and I enjoyed watching. Thanks!
Only thing that I'm not a fan of is the price... but a good 1911 isn't cheap and in most cases.... cheap 1911's aren't that good. Thanks for another awesome review.
What are you doing watching a Springfield Armory handgun review? I get the impression that a lot of people don’t care where things are manufactured and definitely don’t care about the political BS. What you get for your money is all that matters these days.
hi, to you !! good video ! i would ask to you a simple question, why do you disassembly first the slide out of the frame, hold it with strong by your hand, and then you compresses the recoil spring with a litlle pin when it is out ? yuo can put the little pin to block the recoil spring before you pull it out ofvthe frame ! so, you pull rear the slide and block it with holdopen such that the rod of recoil spring is out and show you her hole where put the little pin to block the recoil spring in the slide, now the slide is free of recoil spring action, and you can pull it out smooth without applied your hand strong ... so long, good work
hi, to you genio text ... !!! sorry for you, give to yourself that prize because it don't deserve to me ... i don't appreciate your prize , thankyou !!! you take it tight for you need it surely ...!!! so long, bubba ... 😉😁🤣
It's ridiculous to have such a large and heavy gun with only 9 cartridges 9 mm. While today there are ultra compact with 10 cartridges and especially I have my 43 most contact with the same capacity.
A good friend recently picked-up this pistol...well, it fired quite nicely...but something so not right with an 1911 (although I may consider 10mm) not being chambered in 45 ACP IMO. Just me, I know...but that's how I feel. Personally, I'm grabbing my CZs, Berettas and Sig Sauers if I'm going 9mm - 45 ACP means I'm grabbing a 1911, HK45 or CZ 97. Finally, I've had a Springfield SA-35 on pre-order (for several months now - waiting for the prices to come down to retail)...to me, it's a 9mm that has an OG 1911 feel to it. C'est la vie. Enjoyed...but not 1911 9mm for me.
I was in Tennessee for 10 days and I carried the CZ 97 almost every day. Tennessee has some pretty liberal gun laws as far as concealed carry and honoring permits from other states, so I wasn't all that concerned about printing. I get dressed and ask my wife, "Can you see my gun?". She answered yes... I said, "Good, let's go".
@@marksd5650 -- Maybe a 2011 would have enough capacity difference to make this point, but 9+1 in 9mm VS 8+1 in .45 is not a big deal. Almost any non-1911 9mm carry-size pistol will hold 15+1 rounds... now THAT is enough of a difference where 9mm would be the wise choice. Many now live in 10-round-magazine states, so if I can only have 10, I want 10 of the biggest Jesus-rocks I can get (M&P .45 is 10+1, CZ .45 is 10+1). If capacity is what's important, the one criterion that does not favor the 1911 is capacity... in any caliber.
Mentioned it has a firing pin block, but I'm pretty sure none of Springfields 1911s are built that way. Also when showing the bottom of the slide when disassembled no plunger can be seen.
I might spring for a Dan Wesson But 5k for a at max 1600 dollar weapon is retarded unless you are pretty wealthy and if you are you know of a thing called diminishing returns Somethings just aren't as efficient
the emissary is forged the bul frame is cast, the bul is on par shooting wise though, maybe an even better trigger but this emissary definitely has the looks and accuracy.
I love the look except the Dark top. For some reason it just looks like the wrong slide is on the gun to me. I see so many people love dark slides. I feel like I must not see it the same way.
I’m in between this and the Bul 1911 commander 9mm. Any thoughts? I haven’t shot either so any recommendations or opinions will be greatly appreciated.

KnifeMaker
Beautiful gun, looks like my wife might be getting ready to get upset lol.
Thinkig hard, must get!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is a good looking piece
I love the emissary 1911’s I have the full size in 9mm 👌🏽
Any recommendation for a holster?
Any feeding or ejection issues? I've seen a couple of reviews, and in those reviews replies from Emissary 9mm owners, stating that they've had several issues with feeding and ejection.. Several owners commented having these issues even after 800+ rounds through the gun. They were hoping it was a 'break-in period', but doesn't seem like it.
I was just ready to pull the trigger on the Ronin Commander size because I didn't think the 4.25" was available in Emissary. Between the two, which is better? Emissary or Ronin?
Aluminum vs Stainless steel...
If I'm going to carry a 9mm 1911, I personally want an aluminum frame.
I am thinking about getting one. My only question....will it cycle 147gr hollow-point reliably?
Nobody builds production 1911s like Springfield
Is the high power on shelves yet? Another year for this? What not ready for optics? I have room for it!
Know where you’re coming from brother. 9mm might expand. But 45acp aint gona shrink.
They should have kept the pic rail on the commander
Nice gun, my complaint is that Springfield Armory puts a ridiculous polymer (plastic) trigger on this beautiful gun. Springfield, would it have been that much trouble to put a steel or aluminum trigger on this gun? That's my gripe! As usual, Sootch00 does great reviews, and I enjoyed watching. Thanks!
Got a Kimber looking style to it
Only thing that I'm not a fan of is the price... but a good 1911 isn't cheap and in most cases.... cheap 1911's aren't that good. Thanks for another awesome review.
Pozdrawiam super blog👍👍
Okay what I can’t find any info is how are holsters to find with the square trigger
Has everyone forgotten?!? After what SA did to get a legislative exemption from a gun law they helped pass in their state - they are dead to me...
What are you doing watching a Springfield Armory handgun review? I get the impression that a lot of people don’t care where things are manufactured and definitely don’t care about the political BS. What you get for your money is all that matters these days.
Why would a for profit American firearm manufacturer be anti 2A, and thus suicidal? Here's a hint: They aren't.
hi, to you !!
good video !
i would ask to you a simple question, why do you disassembly first the slide out of the frame, hold it with strong by your hand, and then you compresses the recoil
spring with a litlle pin when it is out ? yuo can put the little pin to block the recoil spring before you pull it out ofvthe frame ! so, you pull rear the slide and block it with holdopen such that the rod of recoil spring is out and show you her hole where put the little pin to block the recoil spring in the slide, now the slide is free of recoil spring action, and you can pull it out smooth without applied your hand strong ...
so long, good work
hi, to you genio text ... !!!
sorry for you, give to yourself that prize because it don't deserve to me ... i don't appreciate your prize , thankyou !!! you take it tight for you need it surely ...!!!
so long, bubba ...
😉😁🤣
Thanks.... I love this....
Beautiful gun
Did they cheap out on the trigger appearance to put more money toward reliability ?
It's ridiculous to have such a large and heavy gun with only 9 cartridges 9 mm. While today there are ultra compact with 10 cartridges and especially I have my 43 most contact with the same capacity.
Too bad these manufacturers never made an ambidextrous slide release and mag release for the 1911 platform
I just need a ambidextrous safety! Pisses me off, they have included that on a .380 and 10mm models.
Just back fr the range ! Terrible can’t get 2rounds without it jamming! So disappointed ☹️
Now I know y glocks r so popular
Just picked up a CZ 75 TS Czechmate Parrot. Haven't been to the range with it yet. Ever do competitive/race gun reviews?
Do they not make the Emissary commander in 45 acp, or only full size?
Very,very nice gun.👍
Mine doesn’t have the ss on the frame, why would that be??? Is the commander model in 45 acp.
When are you going to do the 45 review 4.25 Emissary
Does this come in 45 caliber ?
Did it feel tough to put in the mag when it was new
Hey Sootch, how does this compare to the bul armory commander 9mm?
Mentioned it has a firing pin block, but I'm pretty sure none of Springfields 1911s are built that way. Also when showing the bottom of the slide when disassembled no plunger can be seen.
1911 is the best pistol ever created. Browning is a genius i love it.. also the hk 45 expert is the best.
I like it very much!
Now I've got to make up my mind. A budget RIA nineteen eleven in 9mm, or all-in with the Springfield.
I might spring for a Dan Wesson
But 5k for a at max 1600 dollar weapon is retarded unless you are pretty wealthy and if you are you know of a thing called diminishing returns
Somethings just aren't as efficient
@@marksd5650 Depends on the person.. You could mod the RIA, if that's what you're into..
Need you guys opinion, between Bul armory 1911 commander vs Springfield armory 1911 Emissary, Which one should I go for?
the emissary is forged the bul frame is cast, the bul is on par shooting wise though, maybe an even better trigger but this emissary definitely has the looks and accuracy.
I love the look except the Dark top. For some reason it just looks like the wrong slide is on the gun to me. I see so many people love dark slides. I feel like I must not see it the same way.
What of hold does the gun require? Center or combat?
Muy bueno tu vídeo saludos desde Argentina
I’m in between this and the Bul 1911 commander 9mm. Any thoughts? I haven’t shot either so any recommendations or opinions will be greatly appreciated.
I would like to see 25 yard groups when do reviews on the fine firearms
Nice Gun?
Why does mine constantly JAM, NO FEED, and just a piece of JUNK? $1400 and it does not work.
Same issues with mine, absolute garbage
I am glad I paid the insurance money
they sent it back MFG. Company.@@southsidepatrol66
Just about to watch the video and i have to say no, the tigger guard prevents it for being able to mount a recover rail.
what is range & velocity of the pistol?,.
It's almost too pretty to shoot. That is a really nice looking gun. Would definitely like to try one out. Nice video as always..
