    I have watched for awhile but seeing you found not 2 but 2 bookcases to stain? Been to every type of sale in 11 months in NY and can not find wood cases at all. I'm floored at the things you make with your amazing industrial tools. I'm a Haunted Mansion fan since the second our parents took us to Disney World after it opened. Started my kids off early when they were two & three.

      If you're on Facebook, check to see if your area has a "Buy Nothing" group. I found those bookcases on our Buy Nothing group when someone was remodeling and didn't want to go through the hassle of selling them.

This past Saturday was our first and we "sold" out (free admission) at over 850 guests. Added to 40 vendors and a Victorian era setting with barn it was quite Beautiful. Dude I just finished watching all of your videos lol…Super inspiring! I’m in California too out in Corona and a huge haunted mansion fan as well. I have a question, just ordered a 3D printer and wanted to use that to start casting some epoxy Disney inspired decorations. Since filament is kinda flimsy, what would be the best alternatives for casting that won’t be as heavy as epoxy but better quality than 3D printed filament?

    • @VanOaksProps
      @VanOaksProps  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Doug. As for your 3d print questions, 3d printer filament would be great for creating your models. It will require quite a bit of finishing work to get it to the point where you'd want to make copies of it, which under most circumstances be molded using silicone rubber. Once your silicone mold is cured you would then cast in resin of some kind. All of this to say that whether or not filament is flimsy doesn't really matter. Truthfully, you can make ver sturdy prints if you print at high resolution and use a lot of infill, but if you're just printing something to then be molded and cast in another material, the thickness of the printed part isn't that important.

    The pedant in me demands I point out that the statue is a grotesque, not a gargoyle. Gargoyle, like gargle, comes from the word root for throat. A gargoyle has an open throat to funnel rain water or boiling oil. No throat and it is a grotesque.
