As a kid in the mid 1960's my parents took me to the Ohio State Fair. While we were there Col Sanders was visiting the fair and my mother recognized him and spoke to him. He stopped what he was doing and talked to her for quite a while & even gave her his autograph on a napkin. As a young child, he impressed me as a kind, old, gentleman who was very personable and cared about people on a personal basis. A great video again Jordan!
This is one of the best interviews about the Colonel I've ever seen. So very intetesting! I'm a huge fan of Colonel Sanders.
Thanks Pam! Love your stories. Thanks to Jordans sister for letting him know about Pam...Safe Travels Jordan
This was so unexpected and so much fun to watch! Pam is such a lovely lady! I’ve been enjoying KFC as far back as I can remember. We didn’t have much money growing up and that was our big treat for special occasions.
What a lovely lovely lady Pam is so nice, fun stories, the photo of Pam and her dad she’s barely changed, wonderful interview Jordan x
In the picture she's a brunette.
Wow-what an inspiring story, the Colonel was no joke, what tenacity he had, it just goes to show you what a person can accomplish when they really try hard. Thanks Jordan, I really enjoyed the story.
The amazing thing is he was 65 yrs old when he started Kentucky Fried Chicken
Very interesting insight to some background knowledge of the Colonel. Glad you captured this history before it was lost forever.
My grandparents lived in Corbin for many years, they passed in the late 80’s. My cousins and I used to walk past his restaurant many times, I still have family that live there. This is another of your always amazing videos Jordan, thank you for taking us all to so many great places.
I was actually eating KFC while watching this. I laughed so hard.
😂
The Colonel's "cane" was a maybe a bed post or table leg with a doorknob on top? Cool. Very innovative. My mom has doorknobs like that. So pretty.
Wow this was fantastic... knowing that he was on his own at such a young age just breaks my heart. I'll never understand how a mother can choose a man over her own children. It baffles me. Thank you Jordan this was in fact great... Nada xo... Thank you Pam for sharing your stories
Wow when I was a little girl, this was our big treat at the end of the week KFC -at that point in time in our city, there weren't many of these types of places. I can still remember how good it tasted then '11 herbs and spices'. Memories abound-cheers J
😘❤️🌻🇦🇺✌️
"Jordan what a lovely lady" the interview was great thank you 😽
That was a great interview, Jordan. Thank your sister for introducing you to Pam. I could have listened to her stories about the Colonel for another hour...
There is a very good “Paul Harvey-The rest of the story” segment about the life of Colonel sanders. Tells his life story.
Loved Paul Harvey
@@lunalynn70 good day, lol
@@michaelcanney7218 and now the rest of the story
Is Wendy’s still going in the US? I haven’t been there for a while!😼

Jordan you Sir are a true Preserver of American History & Culture!!!
Thank You for your Time and Effort!!!
✌😎👍
Awww...Pam is awesome! I love that she has all of those fond memories.
How cool & interesting!! Col. Sanders sounds like he was quite the character!! 😃
@😀
We went and ate at the colonel's lady in 1974.when were were coming out of the resturant..he pulled up in his limo and got out of the back..they're house was right there..I couldn't believe it.i was in 2nd grade.i remember the restaurant was one where everyone ate the same dish..whatever the chefs cooked that day was what was for dinner!!! 🙂
This is a great vlog Jordan. Love the stories and memorabilia about the Colonel.
This was so awesome. KFC was my second fast food job when I was 17. I’m 55 and I usually remember when famous people die and I don’t remember when he died. I remember they had bbq chicken and it was delicious. Little House on the prairie did an episode on Col Sanders
Pam is a lovely lady and it was very kind of her to share her home and her memories of Colonel Sanders with us. She has provided us with a tremendous historical record of an American cultural icon. Many Thanks.
Love, love loved this vlog about Colonal Sanders ! He seemed lime he was a no nonsense kinda of a guy,and I'm looking forward to your vlog seeing his house ! Very informative 😊👍
Lord have mercy!!! There just arent personalities like Colonel Harlen Sanders anymore!!! I mean no one has character and the incredible uniqueness that people used to have. I didnt realize I was so young when Colonel died because it just seemed that I had a ton of years of seeing the Colonel on t.v. and in the news but I was only 15 years old when he died but I've been eating his chicken 4 or 5 times a month for the rest my life! Great job Jordan!
Good video am from Kentucky i always wanna hear his stories bout how he got started
I have been working for this company for 6 years now. The best cole slaw. Making it isn't fun though 🤣. Loved the story, thanks for that.
Stay safe and take care. Thanks for letting us come along with you. God bless all
Great stories about the Colonel! Happy that Pam shared them!! Thanks Jordan!!
What an interesting vlog, Jordan, and Pam was so lovely and pleasant. I really enjoyed the stories she told of the Colonel. He sounds like he must have been a great character. Thanks for the vlog and have a great time wherever you are at the moment!
wow, i can't believe i'm the first to the party! love your vids jordan, keep up the positivity and good work! ☺
I love your videos. So refreshing with all the craziness in the world today.
Now that's some Good Ol' Fashioned Vlogging there Son! A Fun story that gave you some insight into Colonel Sanders life! I'd always heard some things that he was pretty strict about his franchises but that really takes the cake! No urban myth there!! Wow!! Thanks again for a great vlog.
Fascinating stories and I didn't know he helped Dave Thomas start Wendy's! Thank you kindly, bud! :D
My grpa helped Dave Thomas get started
💋Great Vlog! I grew up about 40 miles from where the Colonel got started. Very cool start. Kentucky is a beautiful state and a lot of wonderful people. Some fantastic history too. Continued Blessings and Support. ~Love&Light, Carli
Fabulous learning about The Colonel. Very interesting. Hard work took him far.
Miracle of miracles, I was saving this one and just happened to watch it on his birthday
Great vlog! My husband's favorite chicken! He has the Colonel tattoo on his leg. And no, he never gets a free piece of chicken when he shows it at KFC, darn! Lol
Love that you got to meet Pam and hear these great stories and see pieces of the Colonel’s life ❤️
The first official Kentucky Fried Chicken was in Utah. The Sanders restaurant served chicken but was a hotel also. The hotel was torn down years ago.
I enjoyed the Colonel Sanders vlog. I actually got to see him when he was the honorary grand martial of my Hometowns 4th of July parade in Pacific Palisades California in 1976. A couple of my friends and I ran out to say hello to him and he scolded us for doing so then waved and sed happy Independence Day. Without a doubt a no nonsense man. A memory that has stuck with me for life haha.
Loved it Jordan ❤️ Pam was so nice , very interesting. I’m so glad you got Amy some flowers very sweet , she deserves them ❤️❤️
I have been binge watching for about three months and the whole family is now hooked!😍 It's great to watch.. USA is on my bucket list so its nice to watch all the road trips with the small towns you visit. Keep up the good work Jordan....best wishes from NEW ZEALAND 😘
I loved listening to Pam tell the story of her family and Colonels family. How interesting. Thank you for that story. Pam is was a good story teller. I can't wait to see more. Thanks for this. You always have awesome places you go !
What a great vlog! I loved Col. Sanders and I love his food! Thank you to the gracious woman who shared some memories with us. Hello, Amy! Happy to see you share some time with Jordan.
Those are some treasured stories. We are lucky to have heard them. Thank You, Jordan for making this all possible. I feel like I know the Colonel's personality now. Great Vlog!
No KFC in my town. Have to drive ten miles to the neighboring town, so that's what we do! Lol 😅😆 🤣!!
A day trip!
@@DazewithJordantheLion in this goofy world, it's like a vacation! 😅🤣
People from Ky. down are some of the most friendly you'll ever meet. The lower you go south , the better they get .
Wow, I had no idea he lived to be 90. I remember that in the 70s, his restaurants had superb barbecued chicken - my favorite; but sadly, not so much today.
Love your vlogs. This was great and I also enjoy your vlogs on the Hollywood stars.
Great vlog Jordan love watching your channel and sounds like Cornel Sanders was quite the guy. Hope you are having a great time in Kentucky.
Greetings from Northeast Ohio. My grandmother managed a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant here in Ohio back in the 60's. There was a monthly newsletter that was issued by the franchise to fellow employees. I have one that my mother passed down to me thats has my grandma and Colonel Sanders posing together. He was well known for showing up at the restaurants to make sure that everything was being done properly. She said he was always very kind.
Awesome vlog Jordan! It’s one thing to visit the museum, but to hear from someone who actually knew the colonel and had such rich stories to share was amazing!!
That is kismet for you. Thanks to Pam for being so gracious and sharing her memories of the Colonel and Claudia. As a midwestener I can tell you Pam was totally right in it being the proper manners to politely accept southern hospitality. It can make you seem uppity or too good to some people if you refuse . Knew Amy was the special guest, glad to see her.
Just incredible how this gentleman developed a global business. We have many many KFC's here in Adelaide South Australia.
Oh my gosh, what a nice surprise to see our Amy arriving. Sweet. Beautiful bouquet of flowers Jordon. Nice choice. Thanx
Loved this vlog, thank you for having Pam as a guest - what a sweetheart! How nice of her to share those stories and honor the memory of the Colonel. That cane was so cool what a dapper guy he was!! 👍😊💕🐔👀
Such a Great story!! I love learning about Colonel Sanders.

From the gays in las Vegas
I always love how “things” always fall into place for you. Good mojo friend! Much love🌹💋❤️
This was my first day back teaching virtually and everything went wrong. Worst. Day. Ever. Watching your video made it better. Thank you!!
Pam seems like the most nicest person! 😁 Thank you so much for sharing these stories!
What a sweet lady! Great stories ☺️ I bet her family business was so much fun! I'm not a huge fan of fried chicken but... KFC has the best mashed potatoes and gravy ever! LOL and Cole slaw also, I must make a trip to get some this week! Thanks Jordan 💞🥰
Pam is wonderful. Really enjoyed listening to her stories. Sad to hear about Colonels childhood. Thank you for the video!
I loved hearing the Colonel Sanders stories! Thank you Pam for sharing them with Jordan and the rest of us! And what a nice surprise at the end!! You guys enjoy the rest of the trip!
I'm from Kentucky I just live a few miles from his restaurant in Corbin it's a museum now I went by there every day 4 3yrs on my way 2 work thank you for this
Thanks Pam!
And thanks Jordan. Amazing how things fall in place for you.
Pam is a gracious lady! I wish I could have eaten their candy and ice cream! This is an inspiring story for anyone - a person, the colonel, who started a new career later in life, who inspired other people. You find so much to see and do. You are a cultural historian/documentarian.. Final thoughts, I've traveled a lot in Europe, the US and elsewhere, but most of my US travels were for work. I had to seize a few hours here and there (such as a day in Memphis) to see sights. So, what you are doing really brings so much more to these cities.
The interview with Pam about the Colonel was great fun, Really liked the cane and memorabilia she shared. What a great surprised when Amy joined you ! Flowers were the perfect touch !!!
So interesting!!.. I love the Colonel and his Chicken !!.. Love seeing you and Amy.. You both make me smile!.. Thank You!!
Thanks to Pam for her delightful recollections of Col. Sanders and his wife. Fascinating that he achieved his phenomenal success AFTER the age of 65! Thanks to Amy for her cameo appearance at the airport and thanks to you, Jordan, for another entertaining vlog. Honestly, you do the BEST interviews!!!
This was so great!! I enjoyed alot. Why did I get tears in my eyes when Amy popped around the corner in the airport? Lol I'm so happy ya'll are together!!
Great vlog about the Colonel! I remember when he would do the commercials for Kentucky Fried Chicken in the late 70's.
He was a gracious, down to earth gentleman. The taste of Kentucky Fried Chicken in the 1970's was incredible.
Love this. My family is in London and Corbin, Kentucky. The first KFC is there. The colonel made his way by his own hard work.
Thanks for this! While I personally love Bojangles and Popeyes more, there’s only one Colonel and I love hearing success stories that became such familiar brands. There’s no denying the impact he made by perfecting his methods and making it possible to enjoy quick service chicken. A lot of respect for his drive at a time in life when most people would be slowing down. I know he had a lot of jobs in his life and things like the railroad definitely taught him hard work. Cheers from Hilliard Ohio.
During my last year in high school I would walk home and along the way stop at a Kentucky fried chicken place near my house located in a mini mall and I would order the chicken breast pieces, mashed potatoes, coleslaw and biscuit with a soda drink and eat the meal there before going home as a treat to myself after school since I only had to take four classes a day to complete my curriculum to graduate and I was able to finish classes by noontime. Nice memories from days past added to the nice memories from Pam and your marvelous narration, a perfect way to end the day with positive thoughts. Thank you, Jordan and hugs to the Jahster for me❣️🙏🏻
Hi Jordan I am so impressed by your interviewing skills so prepared and you lead the person so perfectly ! The broadness of the channel just continues to grow !! So nice of Pam ,great job great subject !
I worked for KFC as a teen in Calif and one of the things I was told was that Col Sanders could show up at any time unannounced and I had better be doing everything right! Edit: the small bags of 11 herbs and spices were labeled only that...no ingredients were listed!
The Colonel was an Awesome person. Thanks for another great video Jordan.
😊The Col.such an iconic figure, was my first job ever while in high school. Didn't eat chicken but tried it and knew then what I had been missing. All the pies and leftover chicken at closing we got to take home as it was made fresh daily. I would share the goodies with my friends. I have a pic of myself in my micro mini uniform with the regulation red and white stripe bordered apron. 🤗
I love it KFC is the greatest in my book but to hear stories an see his cane was really cool
As always another great story . I’m going to say this is in the top five 👍👍
Not many people know Lee Cummings of Lee's Famous Recipe restaurant was the Colonel's Nephew.
i do. sanders also got dave thomas his start. met thomas once and eat dinner with him in pigeon forge as a kid at a shoneys in pigeon forge.
Really interesting the Colonel was a character by the sounds of it...🐔
Thank you Pam for sharing your amazing and heartfelt stories. I learned so much. That cane is so beautiful must have been handmade. Aww yes I was hoping it was Amy.
Thanks Pam ! Really sweet vlog Jordan . 🐓🐔
Wow this was really interesting! Thank u for sharing this! How great that ur sister’s neighbor knew the Colonal! 😁 So cool!!
@JordantheLion WONDERFUL VLOG awesome background and information. loved it. 🙂 You work so hard. Thankful for you.
One story I heard about Colonel Sanders was he had been so down on his luck & was so happy to get a job selling tires. So he was given a nice new car to drive & it was loaded with tires. I think either he hadn't learned how to drive or he wasn't real good at driving. Anyway he came upon a bridge & some how managed to sink the car & all the tires in the creek. What a way to start a new job, I can just imagine ! He is one guy who had to work a long time to catch his big break.

RIP Col.Sanders
People all over the world eat fried chicken & think of how hard you worked.
This was so cool-I saw the Col. as a kid-Thanks so much, Jordan and Pam!
Hi Amy! Love seeing you guys together! Jordan love hearing about my favorite chicken! Have fun!😎👍
This was a great Vlog! Pam was very interesting, and made the story personal. I could have listened to her for an hour. I was in the hospital this week, so I'm trying to catch up on the Vlogs.
Jordan, the introduction to your vlog is quite an interesting story in itself. I have been a fan of his chicken since I was young. Can' t wait to hear more. I knew the legend, and now I feel I know better who Col Sanders was. Thank you for sharing with us, the story.
Such a fascinating Vlog!!! And Pam was darling talking about the Colonel Sanders Ps our favorite was extra crispy with the potatoe wedges with ranch dipping sauce❣️
How fun! Such a good video! Thanks Pam & Jordan!
Love your videos!! Hello from Massillon ohio!
Thanks for sharing!!
I love the Colonel and his original fried chicken!!
Im glad i found your channel. I really enjoy your videos!! Thank you soo much!
I’m from Corbin and I’ve literally been going to the original KFC my entire life. The little museum there is really cool. It’s nothing big but show the history of him getting started. It was an entire “motor court” with gas station and hotel.
Yes, I believe he mainly got his start in gas stations first
