Glad for this tour around Bridgetown and being able to see how much things have changed since i left in 2017.....i miss home .Keep up the good work👍🏽👍🏽
Just the opposite, when I first started going regular 5 yrs ago (Bajan Yank here), I didn't know Landsdown from Holetown 🤣but now, I'm getting the hang of it - I think
@@gymbuddy32 Yes, it would not seem logical, 🤣 so let me tell you my story. I was walking towards my house, where I had lived for about 10 years at the time.. All of sudden, there was a bus going down the street, and I thought, why is the bus there, that's not part of the normal route. Then the bus turned on to another street, and my brain registered that the bus was on the correct street all along, but my perception of where it was traveling, was wrong. And this was my home territory, so you can see why it's easy for me to lose my bearing as a visitor to Bridgetown. I have wondered where I would have ended up that day, had the bus not been on the road 😆
I love this video cause it makes me feel like I'm right there in town walking the streets, just like back in 12/2019 which now feels like forever ago. Sweet sweet Bim, no place like home away from home! Nice!
Mis your country Barbados is incredibly clean. I've seen ten Caribbean islands none are as clean. Warren's Barbados is also incredibly beautiful. Respect and love from St kitts nevis.
So Beautiful, both here and Speightstown. I wish we would take a note from beautiful Barbados and beautify our city spaces more.... the way you embrace your rivers like European Towns, ensuring its waters stay serene and crossing them with the most BEAUTIFUL BRIDGES!!!! Here, we treat rivers like nothing but "flood hazards", either drain them out until they are dry OR we build the highest of walls/barriers to completely block them off from their surroundings and build the lamest, most boring, dull, bridges ever, (that millions are spent on! Bridges not to be admired for any kind of architectural beauty, or anything special of that sort, simply paint some black and white stripes on the barriers for night vision, ensure it serves its purpose, as a "bridge", and it's good!), AND if building a bridge doesn't even seem worth it, the government ships down these old, cantalivar bridges from Europe to just use instead! Not you guys however, you appreciate your rivers just like London does with the River Thames or Paris with the Seine River..... your elegant buildings line its banks, the Bridgetown Parliament Building sits on the River just like London's Big Ben, your padestrian ONLY streets.... what a leader! Much love and respect BARBADOS!
The Duty free shop in Broad street closed down long before Covid came on the scene. I'm surprised most of the duty free shops have lasted as long as they have. Tourists just window shop, looking bedraggled and sunburnt!
Swan Street looks like a dump, thank God that Broad Street is still relatively clean. It's a shame that people can just set up stalls anywhere cluttering the Streets, selling items that should be sold in a Market. Given the way that things have deteriorated in Barbados I would not be surprised to see Rickshaws or kekes on the Streets soon.
There is always that extremely negative person to comment. Find yourself a spot in the middle of the jungle where you can't see the clutter of the everyday hustle as compared to your obviously privileged derriere
To be honest, I love the extra stalls, the conversations, the colors, the hustlers, Its Bajan. If you go to any other Caribbean.... any other ethnic based country it will be the same. What is trash to some is Beauty and Treasure to others, Thanks for commenting either way.
