I was so glad I was able to catch this promo tour in NYC. It was the first time I brought my then new girlfriend and now wife to a cure show. I literally got the last 2 tickets at the door. I brought her there with no tickets hoping for a miracle. It's been 21 years later and she is still right next to me.
I was at that show and I was able to score tickets to the Hard Rock Live show earlier in 1999 where they debuted OotW, Last Day of Summer and Bloodflowers. I still have my handwritten notes on the set on the inside of my hardcover copy of Fight Club that I had been reading everyday on the train ride into school.

@@adamlipka2136 It’s quite simple to do Instead of putting the running time of each song, jot down where on the video the song starts and do that for each song.
Yeah. Very educational. I remember listening to Bloodflowers ages ago. I was younger than Robert then, and now I'm older than Robert was then. It's a weird existential hall of mirrors. But suits the whole deal.
Excellent recording of the Bloodflowers tour! I saw them in Philadelphia, PA that summer, 2000. Not 1 of my favorite albums, but nevertheless a poetic addition to their very unique repertoire! Take Care!
you know your a pro when you sing too soon, but make up for it by playing an amazing riff out of nowhere and redoing the intro even better and thus playing it off like a legend
Wow! I forgot about this video. So brilliant. The early promos shows were so good, then the summer Bloodflowers shows in the states were just amazing. I went to as many as I could.
I don’t know what it is about these songs and the album itself but I have absolutely adored Bloodflowers always from the very first time I listened to it to the last. Some Cure fans just don’t get it or think it’s okay. But I truly believe it belongs up there with Pornography and Disintegration.
I'm pretty sure most fans hold it in very high esteem. I, personally, loved the album but I also love Coming Up, Possession and Spilt Milk, so I am sad we lost out on the album he initially intended to record. Apparently there are 3 more unreleased "electro" songs that hopefully will one day see the light of day.
@@tylerskissI think it’s okay. Knowing the story behind it, it’s clear why it’s half-baked. It also sat on the shelf for about a year before release. I wonder if the label didn’t like the “hard electro” direction, but also didn’t love the finished product? They moved to a new label in 2004.
This was the last thing they did that was good! After this album it was all downhill... The self-titled so poorly produced it was just unlistenable rubbish and 413 dream.... Should have never even been released it was so bad... After you listen to the self-titled or 413 dream you realize how great Wild Mood Swings was ..And that's pretty crazy! LOL
Thank you so much for posting, Adam!!❤️ Bloodflowers is not the first Cure album I reach for, then I hear it again and it totally brings me back. I was so lucky to see them as many times as I have.
This is the s*_t. What passion they all put out there. My soul cries out as if I'm the performer. Goosebumps on top of my goosebumps. I think my ass even was goosebumped too.🤘
I noticed that Perry is sort of overlooked in the video but very much there with his playing? I also noticed that Perrys brother managed that event, the only one i have seen , and that they split . I wonder if there is a connection to Perrys departure. Thanks Adam
Hello! Great preserved copy of the show that actually got me seriously into the Cure. Curious :) about two things: - What's the source of the two originally unbroadcasted songs (second encore) ? - Is there any place / torrent site where I could download this video in its original form (VHS->DVDR transfer) ? Thanks in advance for the info. Regards, A\
No one knows what he said, probably said something around "keep playing the intro", as Robert sang too soon by accident so he made up for it by playing totally new post rock type riff over the intro before verse itself
Can I please buy a copy of this from you, was so hoping they'd release a live tour video, since this was supposed to be the last tour. Saw them at Fiddlers Green and it was an amazing show, while this isn't the same show, still amazing and would love to buy a DVD-R or possibly BluRay-R from you, please? And thank you for sharing this amazing concert in excellent quality bring back many good memories, I have hippy friends and punk friends, gloths and assort other music lovers but all agree the cure are an awesome excellent band and love that they can bring so many people from so many different style of music together.
Thanks for the share, I never saw this concert. Although Bloodflowers is the album I listen to the less, because I don’t like it. Fan since 1982, that’s why. We’re far from Pornography/Faith/Seventeen Seconds. But nice performance anyways, as usual.
The timing in your setlist of the cure is all wrong on this?! A Forest is meant to be Number 14 A Forest at 5.52 and Robert is still playing another song of theirs. It has played over 5.52???? 🧐🤔

I don't know why they chose the monochromatic lighting scheme for this show, but what makes it especially baffling is the colors do not match the songs at all! OotW = Green? WMF = Blue? Some very bizarre choices.
Perry is the epitome of a humble rock star and man in general. Classic!
Yes, His playing is wonderful.
