Jon only paid 6 for austere command while Augustine was still out allowing him to cast Eladamris Call for a card that he did not reveal despite the card making him reveal it.
This is awesome! Thank you guys for actually playing decks we suggest, it really makes me more invested. I look forward to this every Wednesday, hope you know how appreciated you are for all this work
For what it's worth, Momir Vig triggers on casting a creature spell, so playing Fierce Empath would've put a creature on top of Jeremy's library which then would've been shuffled away by his enters the battlefield trigger.
This was delightful, even though it was basically a three player game since Justin basically just sat down for the entire video. And Jeremy? Don't worry about it. Yeah I saw a lot of the missed triggers but honestly that's the authentic commander experience. You're a joy to have on the show and you round out the rest of the people well by being the only sane one.(No Suarez, you don't count as sane and I love you for that too).
Why are the cards preview showing so fast? They used to wait the next card be played. If it is going to use all that screen space, there's no reason to make people stare at a card-back..
anyone else find that justin was way louder than the rest of them? (or the others were too quiet?) not for lack of talking, just some one turned their audio down?
Hey everyone who's watching Commander VS - you should check out my new podcast called Think Twice! It's a weekly show about Magic, gaming, and pop culture. Episode 2 is here with new episodes dropping every Friday! ruclips.net/video/9d1glDlU2Fc/видео.html
I'll be honest I never requested chairs again, but upon seeing atogatog was like wait I don't remember atogatog. Though upon hearing chairs immediately broke the RUclips like button and am disappointed you can't like more than once so I made a second account to like it twice. Lastly Think Twice is probably the most appealing card the whole card is a master piece.
It was an illegal action to cast it. The commander tax does not affect the CMC of a commander. His commander for be a 4 CMC card that costs two extra because of the tax.
Momir is a cast trigger, just like karametra and all the eldrazi that were running around. So it resolves before etb triggers (coiling orcale/fierce empath).
Where can we submit requests for commanders to play? I'd like to see Sakiko, Mother of Summer as a commander. I've seen a budget Sakiko deck be explosive, creating a bunch of massive creatures in single turns.
ole Jeremy, utterly and completely overwhelmed by his deck when a whole 3 triggers goes off. looks like a man trying to figure out quantum theory in highschool.
I'd love to see a Commander VS where everyone builds their own deck...but then it's randomly given to someone else, would make for some blind/chaotic fun :D
You hugely missed that [Momir Vig] triggers on "when you play" and [Coiling Oracle] triggers on "enters the battlefield". Meaning that you have to trigger [Momir Vig] first then [coiling oracle]. Jeremy first triggered [Coiling Oracle] which was incorrect and he shouldnt get those two lands into play.
Hey guys, You should randomly choose tribes and build tribal decks. I believe you have tribal before, but I do not think they were randomly selected. Just a thought! Thanks for the great video!
Man that deck went off after Myr Battlesphere hit the board. Stephen I have a deck that I think you should play for the Finale. Its a Kynaios and Tiro Meletis deck which is kinda pillowfort with some beaters and some x spells to win. Lmk if you would be interested. Also Mirage Mirror is extremely good in commander.
sorry if this is a noob question, but how did jeremy make his creatures unblockable and swing for lethal? i have looked through the decklist and cant figure it out
I just thought that it was a cool interaction: Stephen can make mirage mirror a copy of curse of vengeance, and since it's an aura not attached to anything, it would die.
I'd love to see someone play a deck based around the card Lich and other "not lose the game" cards like platinum angel and phyrexian unlife. Not sure how that deck would look, I just love those kinds of cards~
It would be cool to see an all titan game, Emrakul the promised end and some combination of the versions of Kozilek and Ulamog, Stephen on Ulamog, Ceaseless Hunger for the milling of course.
How would one go about submitting a fan favorite deck? I love watching you guys play this format, it would be interesting to see if someone would be interested in grabbing the reins on one of my decks (sorry if this was asked earlier in the comments btw)
It's so funny, because whenever I see the commanders I know which is Jeremy's. Not because it's the one with the red background, but because he always plays what I would play lol!
5:25 EMRAKUL HAS SAT IN A CHAIR, in the lore, Emrakul plays a game of chess against Jace, in his mind, and she appears using the angelic form that the people of zendikar gave her... but, this still counts as Emrakul sitting in a chair
How has no one commented on the amazing flavor win of Stephen's Emrakul being unable to control Jonathan because of Sigarda? She was the only one of the 3 angel sisters who didn't become corrupted (Bruna, The Fading Light and Gisela, The Broken Blade)
Jeremy you should have flashed in elder deep fiend to tap down Stephen's blockers and allow Jonathan to attack through for lethal. Then you wouldn't have to worry about your turn being controlled.
Oh, hey, chairs are back, that's cool. And... Kozilek2? Stephen m8 if you wanted to throw you could have picked Ben Ben. Also you have a pretty good amount of "real"/"better" decks that deserved a runback, like Rune-tail, who probably could have won if you didn't get touched by Wes or Phelddagrif or Squee(Squee even won the Enter the Dungeon game, which puts it leagues ahead in ranking, even if that was using a vintage storm deck vs a battle of wits show and tell, a literal salt deck, and a deck of only xxxl cards) anyhow, still hoping for Tomorrow, I probably would (and I think have?) given you a deck list but he's super flexible so you can really just build him any way you want to, as long as it draws cards. Possessed Portal is a fun win condition however.
I sincerely hope that this series never ends. It's one of the few things I can look forward to every week! Keep up the awesome work!
It's still going
Chair Tribal is the best thing to ever come out of this channel. I am so glad to see it back.
Jon only paid 6 for austere command while Augustine was still out allowing him to cast Eladamris Call for a card that he did not reveal despite the card making him reveal it.
Smagasins subtract a half a point
He was tutoring from 37:25 to 38:09 as well, making it a 44 second tutor that should be -1 points /shrug
jeez
Stephen coming through with purely hilarious yet subtle lines. Like 'what is this, redwall'.
(Jeremy) This week we're going back to decks that we did so poorly with, we felt they needed a second chance.
Star City Games last week Stephen Green (#verdechilesauceisthebestsauce) lost a point for eliminating all the players on the same turn.
This is awesome! Thank you guys for actually playing decks we suggest, it really makes me more invested. I look forward to this every Wednesday, hope you know how appreciated you are for all this work
wp jeremy, hope YOU had fun playing that deck again too! :D it was great to watch!
Not even done withe the video. 10/10 ATFH reference. Would watch again. All the likes.
For what it's worth, Momir Vig triggers on casting a creature spell, so playing Fierce Empath would've put a creature on top of Jeremy's library which then would've been shuffled away by his enters the battlefield trigger.
I was looking for this comment...
Depends on how you stack the triggers, if you stack Momir Vig's ability to resolve first then you side step this problem.
d3p43ss3d you can't stack the triggers how you want. They go on at different times. One on cast and the other when it enters
It's a cast trigger? I withdraw my previous comment.
Why isn't tribal chairs running the card: Conspiracy. Theres a bunch of people in the art in a chair, and it actually has synergy with atogatog.
Because steven didnt put it in the first time he made it?
I love chair tribal! I want more decks with themes like that. Left handed or hats or something arbitrary like that. They are silly and fun.
Stephen Green's tone when he says, *scoffs* "yea, you're ready alright"... hilarious
Chair breaks, everything dies
-Jonathan Suarez 2017
This was delightful, even though it was basically a three player game since Justin basically just sat down for the entire video.
And Jeremy? Don't worry about it. Yeah I saw a lot of the missed triggers but honestly that's the authentic commander experience. You're a joy to have on the show and you round out the rest of the people well by being the only sane one.(No Suarez, you don't count as sane and I love you for that too).
I am a somewhat new MtG player/definitely new watcher. I am 10 minutes in the video and I enjoy watching so far. Keep the goodness going you all!
Why are the cards preview showing so fast? They used to wait the next card be played. If it is going to use all that screen space, there's no reason to make people stare at a card-back..
I don't think John payed the extra 1 for his austere command 32:55
So happy that the Chair deck made its comeback! Never stop the trolling of Justin Parnell Steven! Hilarious!
"That's good with panharmonicon" is basically the motto of 80% of my decks at this point honestly.
anyone else find that justin was way louder than the rest of them? (or the others were too quiet?) not for lack of talking, just some one turned their audio down?
Chair tribal and kozilek have have returned I can't see this getting any better ( :
Perfect timing.
Currently removing the Grozoth combo package from my 5c deck to make place for a pantheon.
Woa! Stephen reads Redwall?!?! Books are awesome!
Great video as always guys!

#NeverAgain
Am I doing it right?
I'll be honest I never requested chairs again, but upon seeing atogatog was like wait I don't remember atogatog. Though upon hearing chairs immediately broke the RUclips like button and am disappointed you can't like more than once so I made a second account to like it twice. Justin Parnell sorry you got stuck playing tribal chairs. Although I would love to see atraxa horror tribal. That way you can play your horrors.
#neversaynever
Justin Parnell momir is a cast trigger not an enter the battlefield trigger
2 things: 1)Justin, you are a legend never forget that #teamParnell and 2) Jeremy is that a you sunk my battlestar shirt? that is awesome
4:37 PURE COMEDY GOLD! Why don't you take a seat? Right over there? xD
Also,can we have a 4 way MILL please? :P
I wanna see Chair Tribal again! (again!) Do it, Justin!
Man Steven, that Emrakul'ed turn of Jeremy's could've been so savage! Instead it was a gentle purr.
The audio seemed messed up on this one just really faint and not crisp
Ripe Busta Stephen was way too loud compared to everyone else, it was very annoying.
One of the funniest games I've seen in a while. Chairs for days! XD Wish Jeremy finished John instead of Steven though lol.
Before I keep watching, kudos to the editor who put in the goose on a pillow with a hat on ;)
"She's never shat on any chair."-Justin (Stephen tries so hard to contain himself he squeaks out laughter) 46:35
26:50 curse!! Lobster!! Action frank!
Love this series, and this was super fun to watch. Go Jeremy :D #teamnoell
So are there really original duels in the Atog deck or are those proxies?
Those are real, but the first printings of dual lands were black-bordered from Alpha and Beta! :D
Except for volcanic it was first printed in unlimited
Stephen always picks my favorite commanders. You know he’s coming with that Stomp
I had to go back just to see what Justin was talking about when he first played chairs...so glad I did
I think Jeremy was right in paying the commander tax, since it is something like a kicker, where you pay it in addition to the spell's mana cost
It was an illegal action to cast it. The commander tax does not affect the CMC of a commander. His commander for be a 4 CMC card that costs two extra because of the tax.
It wasn't ilegal as As Foretold allows to cast spells with cmc equal to or less than the number of counters on it
Francesco Gulisano I thought As Foretold was worse and said exactly how many counters.
There are cards like that, so it's understandable
Yeah, I rembered that example, thanks for confirming it
Oh man, Sigarda human tribal was my first EDH deck ever. I still love it, hope it works well for Jon.
When do you finally play Wort, the Raidmother? A perfect deck for Jon :)
Tireless tracker + chair = tired tracker
Momir Vig and Rashmi both have cast triggers, so you can't resolve the ETB triggers first if I'm correct
Yes!! Chair tribal!! That is one of my favorite jank deck!
Jonathan De Leo "jank" is REALLY pushing it
Jonathan De Leo I think hat tribal is better
nartin9 2020 here there’s now stair tribal
Momir is a cast trigger, just like karametra and all the eldrazi that were running around. So it resolves before etb triggers (coiling orcale/fierce empath).
Where can we submit requests for commanders to play? I'd like to see Sakiko, Mother of Summer as a commander. I've seen a budget Sakiko deck be explosive, creating a bunch of massive creatures in single turns.
i couldnt chair less about justins deck. Not even if he played it for chairity
You better remember this comment, Raimund Keller.
Justin Parnell the deck is chairy funny though
ole Jeremy, utterly and completely overwhelmed by his deck when a whole 3 triggers goes off. looks like a man trying to figure out quantum theory in highschool.
Spoiler warning below
Yay #TeamSimic ! :D Was an interesting episode today, certainly enjoyed it!
I love the parts where the all start saying "Spiiiiiiiiittttttte."
Hey guys, You should randomly choose tribes and build tribal decks. I believe you have tribal before, but I do not think they were randomly selected. Just a thought! Thanks for the great video!
Thanks for playing Atogatog. Now all you need to do is Phelddagrif.
Enjoyed this episode so much, bad luck John
Man that deck went off after Myr Battlesphere hit the board. Stephen I have a deck that I think you should play for the Finale. Its a Kynaios and Tiro Meletis deck which is kinda pillowfort with some beaters and some x spells to win. Lmk if you would be interested. Also Mirage Mirror is extremely good in commander.
I just keep hearing Palpatine saying, "Do it."
How shameful that Labyrinth reference went unnoticed/loved D: !!!! Minus 3 points to all!
I can't find the video with the Spider Man suit anywhere :( please help
This one is for Jeremy. Tribal Spirits using Kerador, Ghost Chieftan. Built around the Soulshift mechanic from Kamigawa.
#ChairVS
Great video as always. And Jeremy, don't be so down on yourself. You're a beautiful person and you play Magic just fine. Much love man
Mirage Mirror is very good, but it doesn't trigger ETB effects when you change it (like Decimator) because the permanent is already there.
Justin built a barricade of chairs... A Chairicade if you will...
I love that they love Aqua Teen Hunger Force, bring on the references!
You got a like for the Redwall reference Stephen.
I'm sad Jeremy missed the Rashmi triggers on other people's turns! (Also, try out Rashmi as a commander if you haven't! She's awesome)
I laughed every time Justin flicked the soldier tokens off the board
I like the reference to Redwall
sorry if this is a noob question, but how did jeremy make his creatures unblockable and swing for lethal? i have looked through the decklist and cant figure it out
(Jeremy) Thassa, God of the Sea has the ability to tap 1 and a blue to make target creature unblockable this turn.
Thanks for the reply! didnt realize thassa had another ability other than the scry haha
i really appreciate what you guys do keep it up !!!! justin how was it playing (stax) of chairs. You guys are awsome love the show.
My only commander deck is a Rashmi deck and I love her as a commander, glad to see Jeremy win with her
I just thought that it was a cool interaction: Stephen can make mirage mirror a copy of curse of vengeance, and since it's an aura not attached to anything, it would die.
I'd love to see someone play a deck based around the card Lich and other "not lose the game" cards like platinum angel and phyrexian unlife. Not sure how that deck would look, I just love those kinds of cards~
Stephen was obviously singing a slightly modified version of AC/DC's classic song Moneytalks. #TeamGreen
Hey Justin, can you please play that awesome chair deck again?
It would be cool to see an all titan game, Emrakul the promised end and some combination of the versions of Kozilek and Ulamog, Stephen on Ulamog, Ceaseless Hunger for the milling of course.
Good to see the Green Blue deck actually get to do what it wants.
I would love to see a deck that revolved around getting as many points as possible
'I'm gunna cast The Spain Stage' -Stephen Green 13:11
I would actually love to see more non-playable Planeswalker EDH. Seems real neat to me.
*whispers suductivly*spiiiittee
5:25 EMRAKUL HAS SAT IN A CHAIR, in the lore, Emrakul plays a game of chess against Jace, in his mind, and she appears using the angelic form that the people of zendikar gave her... but, this still counts as Emrakul sitting in a chair
What happened to the other Legends from HOU,
Will they get made into a video???
Could we get a full decklist for chair tribal??
Why are Stephen and Johnathan's voices bassier and stronger than Justin and Jeremy's this time? Did you do something with the microphones?
Emrakul has sat in a chair during the Uncharted Realms story where she invades Jace's mind and plays chess against him.
Jeremy, well done sir. Please fix the audio!
How has no one commented on the amazing flavor win of Stephen's Emrakul being unable to control Jonathan because of Sigarda? She was the only one of the 3 angel sisters who didn't become corrupted (Bruna, The Fading Light and Gisela, The Broken Blade)
Creepy!! At 1:11:20 I turned on a table lamp next to me, then Justin said "So Bright." For a very brief moment, I thought he was talking to me.
Jeremy you should have flashed in elder deep fiend to tap down Stephen's blockers and allow Jonathan to attack through for lethal. Then you wouldn't have to worry about your turn being controlled.
For the Season finale: I wanna see a Patron of the moon deck.
When was the mono-red curse broken?
Oh, hey, chairs are back, that's cool. And... Kozilek2? Stephen m8 if you wanted to throw you could have picked Ben Ben. Also you have a pretty good amount of "real"/"better" decks that deserved a runback, like Rune-tail, who probably could have won if you didn't get touched by Wes or Phelddagrif or Squee(Squee even won the Enter the Dungeon game, which puts it leagues ahead in ranking, even if that was using a vintage storm deck vs a battle of wits show and tell, a literal salt deck, and a deck of only xxxl cards)
anyhow, still hoping for Tomorrow, I probably would (and I think have?) given you a deck list but he's super flexible so you can really just build him any way you want to, as long as it draws cards. Possessed Portal is a fun win condition however.
Damn that camera, it fooled me again.
Love the Community reference.
Justin You need to get one of those that was easy buttons and have it set to the CURSE! so then you can just push the button and it does it for you.
Justin play table tribal next IT IS DESTINY
A barricade of chairs... A chairricade?
Have y'all thought of doing Pauper Commander on here?
