- Inspired by the end sequence in "The Theory of Everything" (dir. James Marsh, 2014). Please like/comment/subscribe if you enjoyed it, and let me know if you'd like to see more edits!
This is the most simple, yet favourite edit I have made so far. I postponed it for so long, because I wouldn't think people would like it, but after reading the reactions on Twitter I decided to upload it to RUclips as well.
I was rewatching "The Theory of Everything" and noticed that the end sequence purposefully showed Stephen Hawking's life in reverse, because the beginning of time for him was when he met Jane - she was the beginning of his universe. And I was so inspired by the idea of your life truly beginning when you meet the person you love, I immediately had to make a Jo and Laurie edit with the same concept.
The companionship Jo and Laurie shared shows that they are soulmates - perhaps not romantically, but they had a chemistry that was unmatched. Laurie is one half of Jo's heart, so watching them both end up with someone else hurt. And yes, I am a still a little bit sad and bitter about the fact that they didn't end up together (because what they had was truly wonderful), but I am slowly accepting that maybe they were better off as friends. I do believe, when Jo and Laurie did end up together, Laurie would put up with her "scribbling" and accept that she doesn't want to go to ball dances and social gatherings; because that's simply not the person she is and he wouldn't try to change her in any way, for she is already perfect in his eyes. He would support her writing and encourage her to publish more poems and stories; and I know for a fact that he would love her all his days, even in death he would still love her.

I wish they ended up together it makes me so sad to think jo fell in love with him after all just to realize he’s married to her younger sister😭😭
Between Amy and Jo, Jo is more selfish and self centered. She started to want Teddy back when she felt lonely. She thinks she owned him and could come back to him anytime like some sort of property thinking he's going to always be there. Whereas Amy has always loved and supported him while developing her own sense of self, maturing and growing beautifully inside and out. Amy is essentially much more mature and selfless than Jo. Amy can lead herself and lead Laurie to the next level of his human existence becoming his best self and a fulfilled advanced elevated human being.
@@chayachay6937 the film does show Amy to grow and mature much more than she does in the book- she definitely becomes less selfish, but I wouldn't say she is much more mature or selfless than Jo
@@chayachay6937 I don't think Jo is more selfish. She works hard to earn money for her family evenwhen her life is also not easy.
@@chayachay6937 Jo is not more selfish, if anything jo grows and is the least selfish. All the money she works hard to earn is used to help support the family. She cuts her hair off to get money for her mom to visit their father. She’s the one who would sleep and comfort Beth when she was ill. Jo did not want teddy back because she was lonely, regardless if it wasn’t said, jo loves teddy and Vice versa. Jo was young and she hadn’t understood that she can stand strong in her beliefs that women are more than just wives and have her own goals and aspirations and also love someone enough to be their wife. But as time passes by, she grows and learns that she can have both. She writes Laurie and he’s the one that doesn’t respond, she went through the hardest time of her life with her closest sister Beth dying and he wasn’t there. He was selfish and decided that he was the only one who was heartbroken but never thought of how jo must be heartbroken to not have her best friend with her anymore. He abandoned with no response from him whatsoever and then comes married to her sister? That’s wrong on so many levels. Jo was always the one being loyal and selfless. Stop the Jo hate, she never thought she owned him but to be realistic, jo is Teddy’s and teddy is Jo’s. They been established that through the movie as their relationship was so close that even their families expected them to be together. And Amy was the second choice, if jo had said yes…they wouldn’t have been together but there goes jo being selfless, she made the hard decision for their friendship and he abandoned her! Like c’mon? Jo is the love of Teddy’s life and likewise, they’re soulmates but it sucks that the time wasn’t right for them.
Them not ending up together broke the meaning of true love
Gorgeous and heartrending... Beautiful. I wish they ended up together. 💕 Thank you for making this video.
Omg I started crying as soon as the reversed scenes began... what a magical video! Xx
this broke my heart💔
Oh i absolutely love this! The Theory of Everything is one of the most beautiful movies i've ever watched, and the final scene always catches my breath. I love seeing the jo/laurie version of that scene. Great job!
I cried so much with this edit that my heart almost came out
my gosh that ending killed me. The smile seems so tragic
That one dislike is an Amy + Laurie shipper
absolutely hits home, and heart breaking
Omg such masterpiece 😭
I GASPED when the theory of everything score started with the reverse. so well done!!
*And* *I'll* *watch*
I so much love this scene 🥰🥰😍especially Joe's answer 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Makes me wanna cry 😭
very beautiful video, i love this idea
My heart said "Ouch"
If there was a movie version of the story of little woman, and jo and laurie ended up together, I would love it for all it was worth, which would be a million tears shed for what could have been, but never was. . .
I think this video just might be my favorite of Jo + Laurie!!! :) Love it so much - great job, really!
This edit gives me literal chills. Beautiful!
This made me so sad I literally want to cry even more about them
This is so beautiful ❤️
Wondrous! Thank you so much for this beautiful & amazingly original edit - I really hope to see more of your work: best of all, you chose to edit the loveliest scenes from the movie - & oh! the
Music! 🙏🏻🌹🙏🏽
I love this! 💗 You did a fantastic job and I love the “going in reverse and backed…” & how they fell in love, little by little, and set to the lovely music and different color shading you used! 🖼 🎨 🎥 ! Please make more edits like that! And especially of TIMOTHÉE 🥰🙂🙃😘🥰😍❣️🤍❤️🤍❣️🤍❤️ Thank you again!
I am crying
🙌 this love...You make this great 🙌
no no no my heart I can't take this
dude...i got tears rn
I miss watching little women for the first time😭 other than the scene where jo said she's lonely, this one is my fav too. Idk why heartbreaking scene is my faves. The thing is jo never love laurie even she said she would say yes if laurie ask her again. She just wanted to be loved by someone. Although i love to see both of them to be together, i still want to see laurie with someone that could love him which is amy. Anyway the ending is satisfying. I might watch it again🥰
Wow it's really great and really underrated! You should have thousands of views! I think I'll never get used to the thought that they didn't end up together so I guess edits are all I can do and watch to keep them together in my mind haha. Anyways I did an edit of them too would be glad if you'd like to check it out and tell me whatcha think💗 I'm a beginner but i won't to be a filmmaker in the future
this is such a beautiful video!!
tho can i ask where the scenes from 1:05 are from? They werent in the movie??
aahhh thank you!! and no, it wasn't in the film. the clip is from a behind the scenes video i found on youtube
setakat ni, ini yang paling sedih
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
☺
The end was so horrible 😭💔
Jo never married. The editor made her. But real Jo never married. She was lonely forever.
But Louisa may Alcott the author made her married to Mr. Fredrick at the ends oh that scene broke my heart I wish they were for each other and ended up together 💔
Wait . really?
@@oblivion_3038 that's what people say cause you see, jo wanted the story's woman to not be married but the editor cleared the act that the woman has to be married in the end. So she did it but the real jo, Louisa may never married irl
@@sorryformyexistance143 Oh thanks ☺️ for the info
