I'd rather purchase it illegally. Probably the best music theory lessons I've come across and they're free - thank you very much do your t-shirts come in baby size?
For those who are still confused about circle of the 5th/4th let me tell you simply how I'd use it. Technically as a beginner it's use as a tool reference. Not only it tells how many sharp or flat keys there in a note but also a tool for chord progression. For the tool for chord progression part each note has 6 note that can be suitable when played together. Look at C at the same time at your circle of fifth. Beside left and right of C is F and G, below C is Am and its left and right is dm and em. Therefore the right chord progression for C is C,Dm,Em,F,G,Am. Try play it on your guitar and play with other notes within the circle. Hope this helps.
Wow. This comment alone made it all click for me. So you're saying then, that the progression of G, for example, is G, Am, Bm, C, D, Em? Where does the F for G come into play then? As well as the B for C.
@@Unknowniswhatiam you need to play the chord according to the selected key progression to get a better understanding. Whichever key you choose, the concept remains the same where it is left and right, as well as below and its left and right
My highschool doesn't teach any music theory, our music subject focuses on the indigenous music of our country, which is okay but I wish we were taught more of the technical side of music. Especially since our culture really likes music

Youre the man. an epitome of perfect musician. You are what your name Sir. You have no idea how your lessons, vlogs have impacted me as a former guitar player. You’ve just motivated me to pick up my guitar again. Thank you...will be following you for sure.
I played and used the circle of fifths many times in high school without ever knowing what the hell it actually was. This was the first time I've fully understood it! Thank you!
Best teacher i've encounter,,,philippine teacher in music.....amazing sir,,,this is very useful for every one,,not just me,,specially all beginner's...
This is REALLY a big help! I've been playing the guitar for a decade now and I did not even bother to learn this stuff because it always looks troublesome to do so. You make these so simple!
Very helpful and informative sir. Salamat bilang sa isang gitaristang nag aaral lang sa pamamagitan ng youtube at internet malaking tulon toh. More power sir. God bless
Salute sir.. galing mo magturo Panis mga teacher sa school I can tell that u r so knowledgeable Pero what amazed me was.. the way you go down to the level where everyone gets it. Coz there are others who are good at it but delivering it to others was no good.. You are great on both ways.. Just awesome
I really enjoy this “music theory for guitarist” series. Very helpful for intermediate players and can also help advanced players in enhancing their skills. More power to you Sir Perf. I hope to finally see you on your next visit/gig here in the Philippines.
Great video and teaching. Really enjoyed your simple pen and paper explanation. Will be sharing with my son doing his music theory and guitar gradings 👍 thank you this is amazing.
Sir ..
As a self-taught keyboard player, I used to just memorize the scales using repetition. Reason why I'm here is because I'm trying to learn guitar and found out just now this formula on how to map out the notes on the scales. Subbed! =)
Thank you so much po. I really appreciate this series since I have always wanted to understand music theory, but because of strict parents, I wasn't allowed to focus much into this.
A1Hayz they are not strict. they are close minded people. toxic and unhelpful people. i have seen parents like yours. unsupportive. they want their child to be rich and successful someday but aren't willing to support their child's dream. how can a child acquire a skill that will eventually make him/her productive to society if they dont allow the child to learn and master the skill he/she wanted? very illogical people. skills=success=$$$
7:204:13 sharps.. As a beginner, the circle did confuse me and evidently so for others in the comment section. Just remember when Perfecto taught us about the formula- WWHWWWH. Go back to the sharp and flat we wrote before he began talking about the circle of 5ths. He fills/writes the notes of the circle really fast but they make sense if you take a second to think about it - e.g. to go counter-clock direction from C, you get to F as the fourth note, then F to Bflat since F-G is Whole, G-A is Whole, A-B is Whole but we need to make it a half since the formula starts with Whole,Whole,HALF. So A-B has to be written as A-Bflat, hence explains how he came about writing them.
Again sir perfecto I've learned a lot from your videos from part 1 to part 2. Now i'm heading to watch the part 3 sir. we admire your passion and skills sir ❤️. Hope you'll keep making more videos like this. #learnings
Oh wow! So eto pala yun. Haha. Nung high school ko napansin to, so ang basis ko nun is magstart ako sa isang key then hahanapin ko family nya thru do re mi para maganda pakinggan yung progression nya kapag nangangapa ako nun. Hahaha. Thank you. Antagal ko na nanunuod sayo idol.
OMG this stuff is hard. I'll get it, but I'll have to watch these video's like 3-4 times each. Thanks man. Other teachers dn't teach this vitally important stuff. They give you basic pentatonic scales and expect you to take that and turn in to Eric Clapton or Eddie Van Halen just off scales.
sounds very interesting and encouraging to enhance my music awareness...ur really such a big help sir perf...ur a perfect music teacher...nong elementary kac ako tinatamad ako pakinggan ang music teacher ko diko maintindihan...as i listen to u, gets ko lahat ng sinasabi mo kahit english hi hi hi ( sana me tagalog version)...that is why i am very thankful...
This is very helpful. I’ve been playing for a while and never had any formal theory so I know what works but it’s hard to share if you don’t know the terminology or how to explain why you play what you do.
