Thanks for the reaction! This is one of my favorite shows. I find that this is also much easier to digest for someone who is relatively unfamiliar and new to Drum Corps. There is so much that goes into these amazing shows. I hope you continue the DCI journey with this next recommendation: ruclips.net/video/6kSQO4cZ6dg/видео.html The Cadets, Between Angels and Demons. The show name speaks for itself. I hope you enjoy! Also, when I said volume up, I meant for your headphones. You get the best experience when it’s at a higher volume and that’s still nowhere close to a live experience.
I *think* the title of the piece this show is written from is "The New Moon in the Old Moon's Arms" by Michael Kamen and it's a really REALLY nice thematic orchestral piece. Absolutely worth a full listen.
I get to march with these guys this summer and it’s so cool to see someone who is new to drum corps react! These shows are held yearly and corps rehearse all summer. I personally will move in with my corp at the end of may and rehearse 12 hours a day until the end of june where we tour around the country for 2 months. Finals are always in Indianapolis in mid august which is why these are all in lucas oil stadium.
Rehearsals for these shows are at minimum around 12 hr days. But they start piecing the show together around May/June when everyone moves in together for a few weeks before going in tour for the summer.
I think you'd LOVE their 2021 and 2022 shows! In 2021, they went back and redid their 2003 show "Harmonic Journey" and they did amazing. Their 2022 show "No Walk Too Far" is nothing short of outstanding.
DCI championships has been held at Lucas Oil Stadium since 2009, I was actually in the Blue Stars that first year it was there. It is a fantastic place to perform and spectate at. It is also the location where Bands of America (BOA) Grand National Championships for high schools are held every year.
Your comment about this being music for the soul resonates with me. I often play this as mood music before or after my teaching day. Into the Light is one of my top three favorite Phantom Regiment shows (along with Harmonic Journey and Defiant Heart).
I'm enjoying your DCI reactions! It's a LOT to take in, but it's so worth following! The levels of musicianship, showmanship, and just general badassery are off the charts!
When lucas oil was built, DCI had input in the design phase - making it one of the best acoustically tuned stadiums in the world. for their input they also had to host the next 10 years of DCI finals weekend. I think they extended their summer contract to 2035 last I heard.
phantom's my favorite. you should check out some cavaliers "machine" or blue devil's "felliniesque" show which got a perfect score iirc.. but if you wanna check out a really fire show check out 95 and 96 madison scouts "drum corp fans dream"... you won't be disappointed
Hi Matthew, I suggested this video some time ago, and goes along with what you have been watching lately. This is the high school version of marching bands or drum corp., whatever you would like to call it. These are kids from generally ages 14 to 18. ruclips.net/video/1me7hjuJAW8/видео.html

This is the most beautiful DCI show I’ve ever seen.

FCO Baby!
Thanks!
Indianapolis is the site of the final DCI Championship contest, the final DCI performances of the year.

DCI is an anual touring event. The finals however, are hosted at Lucas Oil

I love the channel! You should do Phantom Regiment 2022, I marched in that show:)
Check out Phantom Regiment 2008 and 2011!!! Such good shows!
They have to be precise, being outdoors…controlling the sound is key!
Championships has always been held at Indiana since 2009.

Not perfect but the highest in history. 99.65 is an absolutely insane score.
cavaliers 2011
“Content for your soul.” I think you just found your merch slogan.😉
Babylon was easy to understand, too.
You needa check out angels and demons by the cadets
This was my next recommendation!
I got to see that one live at the Moonlight Classic at UOP and it was absolutely mind-blowing. The only performance I remember from that night.
You should react to Bluecoats 2022 or 2016
Indianapolis host a lot of conventions many of which come back year after year
What are they forming 😲😲😲😲😃
why do you use a low quality 720p version when theirs a high quality 4k60 version available on youtube
Why are all the adds before the biggest and best hits 😭😭😭
Bluecoats 2014
