I am always amazed at how quiet Your barns are, even when they were almost all waiting for feed they just stood and patiently waited. That has a lot to do with how you care for them Piet, they know there feed is on its way! Job well done Peat! You really look after your cows!!
I hope is learning experience with this cold snap.you start build heater with small tank propane for your pump.i hope the farm equipment keep down low pssible due low temp.western canada some farm have tough going with milk truck.thanks video update😮
Where you have those pumps in the pits could'nt you have a curtain or tarp rolled on a pipe or pvc that you could roll over the pits when it gets extremely cold and put a heater on thermostat in the pit to keep it from freezing
Hi Piet. It looks scary freezing cold there. Those doors look pretty frozen !! In Montreal, last weekend was in excess of (-13c) for 4 days in a row. We are sitting at (-8c) right now. Hope the MOO COWS are keeping well. How are those curtains doing in keeping out major cold from the barn?
We enjoy your videos, and love gelato!
Hope you get your issues resolved. Looking forward to your next video.

We have a 724 we can put on the mixer as well, but it's nice to have the extra weight of the 942 when it's icy around the yard!

They do a good job keeping the barn warm. Even at its coldest, the manure in the milking cow barns didn't freeze.

How can it be a constant flow in the separate room when it's a piston pump in the other end?
I just happened to film when it was being pumped, the flow is not constant.
Check valves
Does milk yield dip in the coldest weather? Rob - UK
No, not noticeably anyways. The cows will eat a little more, but milk production stays consistent.

Just under 3000 calves, heifers and cows on our farm.
