This is my personal opinion so please be kind! I feel that rock is like an old man trying to keep up with times trying to sound like he used to but he cant! Too many wanna be rock bands screaming and yelling about the same things over and over songs with meaning but not a soul. The only ones that carried the tourch in my opinion are the ones i ve mentioned. In the 80s you were hearing rock or metal and you could feel the energy and the vibe you wanted to get loose. Now its all technical and if you dont do this or that you are not rock. Let it sleep for some time so people can miss it and then boom a new era!
Except music nowadays is just as good, if not better.
Try Highly Suspect- favourite heavy rock band of this generation. Their songs differ a lot from each other so if you like hard rock they will have something you like for sure. My favourites are Highly Suspect Lydia, Highly Suspect Chicago and Highly Suspect Wolf.
An album that never got the love and respect that it deserved. Such a great album.

R.I.P. Alec John Such. I saw Bon Jovi on their first U.S. arena tour opening for Scorpions. Lots of fond memories with old friends. Growing up with the music of Bon Jovi. Thank you for the music and concerts Alec John Such. My condolences to the family and friends and to Bon Jovi.

It still blows me away that John is basically mumbling the high parts at the end of the song - but somehow it works. This was the song that hooked me into loving this band. I was working at a grocery store, living in Texas City, Texas with my grandmother. I remember walking over to the music store which was a mile or so away and buying this album on vinyl. Back in those days, I'd buy the album and then I would record it onto a blank cassette and listen to that to preserve the longevity and quality of the album. So, whomever inherited that album when I sold my collection got an album that had only been played one time. I sold my record collection in the early Nineties - a decision I still regret today.

I bought this album when it came out before they made it big. I saw Bon Jovi open up for Donnie Iris in Youngstown, OH back in 1985, then again in 1987 after they hit big. I remember listening to “Never Say goodbye” at college with friends promising to always stay connected but sadly we all lost touch🙁

It just so happens THAT was the first time SkidRow had EVER played an arena before, and no one even knew who they were. We all just saw a name on a flyer and were like "Who's SkidRow?" But they rocked the roof off that place!! And by the time I left there, I had a NEW crush XD
