Helloooo everybody! So despite my cruel anger towards this guy, I've always wanted to make a video of his badassery (don't even think that's a word..) moments. Now I wouldn't consider him as my favorite character on the show since he killed my former favorite character Merle.. which Merle was actually beginning to grow on me this past season and I came to like him more.. but ANYWAYS.. The Governor is a cruel person. I'm pretty shocked to see him live throughout this season, but then again killing him off right at season 3 would leave so much stuff (and things..) open. I would like to see what happens with him in season 4 now.

I actually feel kind of bad for him. When you think about it, the man had lost a wife and a kid, and the three people he trusted the most (Andrea, Merle, and Milton) betrayed him. He had nothing left to live to live for but his town, and the only thing driving him was revenge. Then the people of the town stop following his orders and he just snaps.

The Governor made me proud to have one eye. Plus now I wear the same custom eyepatch he does, fuck fake-eyes. I just need to whistle a tune and wear an eyepatch, and of course, carry a ka-bar and wear awesome leather jackets and vests. Also, I am highly manipulative and a..... *whispers* liar

Bro I have one I too and I have to agree with you. Glass eyes suck and I think I'm gonna get a govenors eye patch. I lost mine in a BB gun fight with a friend :( but finding comments like this make me feel better about it. Hope you reply dude

Ser Jaron wow that sucks! If you want I can link you up to some eyepatches I've been looking at, if you go to ebay and type in "governor eyepatch" or the "solid snake eyepatch" I think you'll be very impressed by some of the customs, also check out birchcreekleather.com that's where I'm using the one I have right now. It's a very, very classic look, a tie-off, I really like it. Though I wish the bands were smaller but they are very comfortable. I bought the small-size one but I think if I could do it again I'd go for the large (or I'd go for the large and put smaller bands or request if I could get smaller bands on it)
PossibleGold A cancer behind my neck started eating away at it. I'm an amateur boxer (no longer, now I'm a self-defense instructor, I'm not saying I'm great or a badass or a tough guy before anyone jumps down my throat, in fact I avoid fights at almost all costs if possible). Anyway, I took a really gnarly hit in one of my final amateur bouts against a guy who had 3 inches and 25 lbs on me, and I'm 6'3 and was 215 at the time (my trainer kept pushing me to drop down to 195 so I could fight @ cruiser but I was stubborn, paid the price for it in back pain, neck damage, eye damage which is how the cancer was caught, thank Odin) , this guy was 6"6 and 265 or 260, though I had a better record than him, he won many of his fights via intimidation, I think, glass jaw, all that, hit like a freight train, though! Anyway, right eye got hurt, found out was was wrong.
Honestly I dig the eyepatch look, I really do, I got a small selection, right now I'm wearing a really nice all-leather, really old school tie-off which I love, looks kinda like Solid Snake's if I had to describe it got it from birchcreekleather (they don't make the medically but it doesn't matter, the medical ones fucking suck, are ridiculously huge and always are an annoying color or have like, Spongebob or something on them, I don't mind waering those sometimes but I like how the leather eyepatch look CAN be somewhat intimidating)
All this to say, I've managed to stay a good shot with my .357 snub @ 25 yard, and I (never was) a great knife thrower but now I'm getting better than ever! Mainly because I've had to refocus on MBCs (martial blade craft) and self-defense now, because I can't (legally) box as an amateur or pro, not that I'd want to. Too much risk. But there have been quite a few one-eyed fighters out there that hid it or paid off people to keep it secret and did incredible. Stallone went on-and-on about this really great fighter out of Philly that was basically avoided by all of the champs at the time (this was the 70s, which really says something). Ken Norton wouldn't fight him, etc. He had a massive record, a lot of wins, something close to 100, he had a fair share of losses, too.
Man I wish I could remember his name or at least provide a link to the youtube clip about it, maybe "Stallone talks about one eyed boxer" might dig it up....Anyway, lately I've started fencing, I'm a newbie, about 8 months experience, I love doing it because you get people who'll try to take advantage of my blind spot or try and make me think that's what they are doing, the whole strategy of how I go about martial arts, MBCs and fencing has completely changed. It's interesting :) (to me, probably boring to you, sorry about the long post)
Funny thing Heather, The Governor is by far my favorite character(In the comics and in the series!), and whenever i see one of your videos, what amazes me the most is how the songs you choose to be in the videos, describes the character and his path in the series.
Philip is gone, but not forgotten, keep making videos about the tale of the man who had his soul corrupted by the events of the Zombie Apocalypse.
Seasons 1-4 were some of the best TV I’ve seen. They just killed off too many good characters, nobody has talked about this show for years now.

I always thought they should have turned the Governor into Neegan. The fanboy (the irrational part of me) wants him to somehow return. I know it'd have to be uber-contrived, like he was rescued at the 11th hour by someone and that Michone's sword "barely missed the heart" and after "months of lying on my back, I'm ready to get back into it." And, of course, his middle name would have been Neegan. So he is amalgamated his giving a fake-name to people, as if to escape that past self, while still recognizing what he really is.
And it'd be a spin-off mini-series that will be the big-setup for season seven when Neegan "Ol One-eye Bry" returns. Having spent the mini taking over the saviors, who saved him, and killing a man more similar to the Neegan from the comics.
It'd all be insanely hard to swallow but I think it'd be epic. One thing is the actor playing the TV Governor is big enough to play Neegan, he's 6'3 and he actually has more qualities similar to Neegan as he does wit hthe Governor. There's a pragmatic side to him and both are equally vicious. I think TV Governor> comic Neegan. We'll see about the TV Neegan, m yguess is he is introduced in Season Six. Which is partway filmed or getting prepped to be filmed already, I think.

MrShloker I was hoping he'd somehow become Neegan, that S4 would deal with them trying to live together (eventually the prison erupts like a riot, and we also see Rick and the Governor become more and more alike, manipulating people in theri groups to fight the other), the two groups separate and we see Neegan aka Brian Herriot aka Phillip Blake aka The Governor run into a group of bikers with his tank (that he barely makes it out with) and maybe 5-10 men, he's outnumbered but he sees the leader and says "We have a lot to talk about"
Then we see in the next Ep Rick and Co running into Terminus, which the Governor/Neegan doesn't find out about until later seeing as he had to high-tail it out of the prison during the fighting. We next see him as the leader of "The Saviors" and he's now going to Terminus to take it, by the time he gets there it's burning to the ground. He begins to track the survivors and sees sign of Rick alive.
Which would eventually lead him to Alexandria. This would also be a great mini-series where we could see him become Neegan and the leader of the saviors, create Lucile ("never waste a bullet") which he treats as a family member, see him struggling to overcome his madness to the point where he's still batshit crazy-scary like Rick is in S5, but he has that control back that he used to have. He amasses a group of 200 highly-vetted, nasty biker men and women, and takes on multiple wives.
I think this would not only be better than doing another LA-related Spin-Off, but we could have (essentially) a Governor Neegan TWD that becomes very much it's own show (until "All Out War") for 2 seasons. Eventually he's captured and Dwight is in charge, who is kind of the Anti-Daryl and a rival to Daryl, being a bowman, not a direct rival but they have a competitive streak against each other. We'd see people in the Savior's group develop after the events of All Out War, maybe Carl tries to join them, that'd be interesting.
Eventually we get to the Whisperers (which I think would be a great finale for the series), the Saviors are starting to have a civil war and struggle, the Whisperers number in the thousands, and Rick needs the Saviors to protect Alexandria and the Hilltop (which should be merged with the Kingdom).
Rick is forced to free Governor Neegan, which earns him the disdain of Maggie (since he killed her father, and I won't say more there as we don't know what else could happen and Daryl, who is more upset about it than Michone and even attempts to kill Neegan against Rick's wishes, which lands Daryl in jail, temporarily.....,as for Maggie, in my world she'd still be with Glenn after the events of All Out War, that's all I'll say so as to not spoil anything). Anyway, Neegan regains control of the Saviors, nearly being killed by Dwight and being unexpetedly saved by Daryl who, after having a ghost-talk with Merle, decides that the lesser-evil here is Neegan, that's how bad the Whisperers and certain factions (and Dwight of the saviors) have become, at least Neegan/The Governor is (now) counted-on to be stable, pragmatic, tactical, in spite of his need to kill and hurt others, which he is directing at the walkers and the Whisperers.
Eventually it comes to a head with Rick, Neegan, and the leader of the Whisperers and I'm not sure if I'd have Neegan/The Gov survive. If he did I'd have him ride off into the sunset with a semi-small group of bikers that are willing to follow him, either continuing his story via the off-shoot series, or having that be the ending for both shows, and in specific, his character-arc ending. I'd even consider having Daryl go with him because that'd be such an interesting thing to try and write and figure out. (or not! :P )
Rick survives, though he is one-handed now (they need to do that at some point near the end, I think, and give him a Merle-hookup unlike the comics wher ethe yfucked-around for literally 100 issues before doing anything about it) , Carl is older (also one-eyed, but wearing shades more often than not). Daryl is happily and with Aaron (I think it'd be cool if he were gay, just because it'd be unexpected and interesting) or maybe he finally winds up with Carol, if he's straight he better! They belong together, it could be the Dale/Andrea relationship we never got in some ways.

Governor's military even had more bad ass weapons than The Saviors. I mean yea Negan has a bigger Army, but when Governor's Army comes after you it looks like a real ARMY! All those Military weapons, Military Vehicles with mounted machine guns & who could forget this guy had a TANK.

The Governor and Gustavo Fring are the greatest villains in the history of television, just like Handsome Jack is the greatest villain in the history of video games, no one can convince me otherwise. Those 3 characters make things less worth watching, playing ,or enjoying because NOTHING can or will ever top them.

@@NobleBoss For video games, Handsome Jack is the best in my opinion. For movies I would say Akan from Hardcore Henry as a personal favorite (movies are to expansive and focused on a villain at times to choose, Akan is just my personal choice).

Carl intrigues me more then gets me mad. Carl (either due to seeing what he's seen as a boy) or perhaps just how he's wired...IS a cold boy, he would've shot Sophia if his dad hadn't, and he wasn't saying that to sound like a man, he was dead serious. This season he's had to be responsible for terrible things (his moms death) and in his mind be the leader if his dad loses it, which is rapidly happening. He's in over his head, still just a kid who doesn't know what murder and justification is.

We'll see, he's at the point where either he makes a decisive change and transition to get his head clear like his mother wanted him too or would want him too, or just lose himself to this world and the grittiness of it. Either way, although Rick probably doubts it right now, he's going to be a big factor into that decision as his father. Needing a parent doesn't just dry up.

Although I agree that it was somewhat anti-cimatic, I felt that it was somehwat Rick's redemption; him bringing the Woodburies citizens to the prison was an extremely bold move, and that scene where he stood staring at the badge he wore throughout a majority of the first two seasons was simply amazing as it opened our eyes to what this group has become. Looking at it from a purely fan-boy point of view, the groups personality and morale has changed and I am glad that it is slowly coming back.
Very epic video, well made and it fitted the character perfectly.
Johnny Cash's When The Man Comes Around, That is a great soundtrack for villains like Benjamin Linus, Gus Fring and of course Phillip "The Governor" Blake.
