Considering Bard magic exists, here's how I'd do it:
It starts out like a normal day at Hexide, though the score is a bit more musical. But once we see the students, they're all singing instead of talking. As the episode goes on, we learn that someone from the Bard track (let's say Skara, she's the only one we're familiar with) messed up a spell, causing the entire school to be trapped in a musical, blissfully unaware, except for Skara.
