They are regularly flown free and could fly away at any point, they instead choose to come to the falconer for food. They are all captive bred birds that may not have ever hunted for prey or understand hunting enough to be effective. It would therefore possibly die of starvation or go looking for food near humans who (some not all) could harm it. They also play a great role in educating the public to understand these magnificent creatures and help preserve them in the wild.
