  • Philadelphia Flyers Matvei Michkov was benched again in Thursday’s 3-0 loss to the New York Islanders, playing just over 8 minutes due to a defensive error that led to the game’s first goal.
Is John Tortorella the right coach for the Flyers? Or does he need to go?

Not a fan of Torts but you guys are right UNLESS he is making the same mistake over & over again or lacks effort.

@@Whowhatme that’s fair question. I don’t think it is, but I’m sure Torts sees the game differently. From the outside it looks bad. Anytime a coach and a player go at each other on the bench, it’s usually a bad sign.

After following what Ivan Demidov is going through with SKA this season, you're way off base here. This treatment is coddling, compared to how coaches treat players in the KHL. Podcasters searching for topics are much more concerned with this situation than Michkov is.

@@kenmacleod7225 that somewhat makes sense. Although, I don’t remember Demidov and Rotenberg going at it on the bench. You think it’s far fetched that not everyone enjoys Torts antics? One mistake and you’re on the bench? Your opinion is your opinion and we can have ours. Go ask Sean Avery how he feels about Torts.

Almost like they don’t have all the facts… likely hood is the “kid” who’s an adult btw was told numerous times about a consistent mistake. Therefore benching….

@@tommcquade5213 dude it’s an opinion! We are no insiders that’s for sure. But we love talking hockey and having opinions! However, we all know how it’s going to end with Torts.

@@chiefexec7367 yeah, that’s fair . That wouldn’t make Matvei very happy. Sometimes you just have to believe they will learn from their mistakes. Great players want to be the best. He will learn.
