😂😂😂and am loving loving it, btw I have issues with getting matte paint, I really love this dark moody aesthetic look on my new RUclips studio, but If possible, "WHAT'S THE MIXTURE GRADING OR WHAT COLORS ARE MIXED TO HAVE THIS KIND OF A LOOK!?" I love you guys♡♡♡♡from Uganda!
Awesome tips in this video: Trash bag tray liner Backrolling Sealing the painters tape Sanding between coats Indent the hole then fill it Definitely painting my film room this trout gray color!
The tape back is worth it alone. I found that on Google a while ago when we did stripes on our wall. Being that we live in the land of textured walls (FL), I was super concerned about crisp lines and sealing the tape was a life saver!
I learned so much! The curved roller brush tool is new to me and scraping the brush after is too! And the garbage bag liner is brilliant! I remember Curtis. He was the best plasterer and painter I’ve met. So fastidious and professional.
Literally, this is the best DIY painting tutorial on RUclips. Your explanations were better than the Lowe's and Home Depot videos I've watched. Well done!
I love the cinematic and story telling videos but these are also slowly becoming my favorite. Especially since I want to recreate my mini youtube studio.
Just moved to a new place and I need to paint it all. Not my first rodeo but these are the best tips! Thanks for that! I gotta go get a few stuff from the hardware store now.
I've done the bag but rolling the roller into the bag because you then change it is brilliant. I used to wrap my roller in Saran Wrap. But this is a great two-fer suggestion!
I've always wanted to paint my walls myself so I always admired that you did it yourself! This video was the one we didn't know we needed but when I saw the notification I felt like I asked for it 😂
@@BeckiandChris we are painting a bunch of rooms in the house and I would NEVER have thought about this. Also... your cut in is so neat!! I am getting better but I have to get one of those angled brushes and try with those. Great video as usual :)
Aw wrapping the roller while the first coat dries is such an obvious but brilliant tip... I always would wash it and just have two or more rollers so while one roller is drying, I use the other roller, but then I always felt bad that so much paint still in the first roller was wasted.
Hey guys thank you so much ! YOU HAVE INSPIRED US TO PAINT OUR STUDIO also we made a black slat wall and a video for that. We just tag you in case you want to see it 😉 best wishes from Mexico 🇲🇽
I watched lots of your videos and I love your studio makeovers, I got inspired a lot. And finally today I finished painting my room almost black, which I'm really satisfied with 😍 thank you for your videos
Thank you very much for this. You will never know how much I needed this at this time. I just moved from home and I want to paint my new place matte grey and white. Thank you
I love this channel. I feel like you are a photographer/videographer getting into architecture, and I am an architect getting into video. So it is fun to see someone else in the middle. 😅
Excellent tutorial! And I love the grey. Just don’t use a screwdriver to open the can-trashes your screwdriver. Unless of course, you are sacrificing the tool in the service of your beautiful painted room, in which case it is fair. You do an excellent job with your Reno’s and your videos.
This is SO timely! My basement had a flood so 1/2 the drywall is gone. Having someone come replace it but we will be doing the painting so super excited to have these tips. Totally going to help. Thanks!
Learned so many things in this video. I compared how I painted my basement over the winter, and i did like some of the things you're mentioning, but some other mindblowing things, i can't wait to try it out.
Oh man this is just what I needed! I've never painted a wall in my life but we're moving to a house soon (iiiih!) that we get to rent for a few years and I definitely want to do some painting! However it's old and we need to deal with some wallpaper first... I guess the trick there is to take the wallpaper down, sand and plaster before moving on to painting?
Hey Becki (And Chris), We love your videos! Since you use glasses, and do a lot of to-the-camera-angles. We were wondering if you ever thought of cutting a window shaped cardboard for your lightbox? The reflection in your glasses will look like sun through a window, instead of the circle? Anyhow - waouw we love your content!
Omg I never knew the scraping tool had the curve in it to clean rollers, love it. This was super helpful. I knew a lot of these tricks including getting the goobers off but the sanding in between I didn’t know. Also didn’t know about waiting until the 2nd coat to get those white spots. Thanks!
@@BeckiandChris love the garbage bag liner as well. I always just put everything in the refrigerator until coat 2 but thinking that wasn’t the perfect solution. 🤣
Becki!! We just purchased our first home and as soon as we did I turned to you guys for inspiration on paint! Thanks so much for this video! What light/medium Grey Benjamin Moore paint would you suggest for a bedroom? Love all the home Reno videos keep them coming 😊🥰
Wow! I absolutely loved this! I know it is a simple, different video but I have always loved all your renovation videos and get so much value from them!! Thank you!!
Purdy! I'm getting ready to paint a house to sell. I've been prepping walls for a couple weeks and removing paint from trim. Last owners made a huge mess! Thanks for the tips! I usually use 3m painters tape but I've got a recommendation to use frogs tape, so I'm going to try it..
Becki, you're awesome. So informative, you guys both rock. I used one of your paint colors, wish I could show or send you guys a photo, came out great.
Wow! I know you said this was a super random video for you guys to do ( but I've been enjoying this DIY series so much! Thank you for the tips and tricks - they were invaluable!
I really watch every video, because I just love your content, pretty sure I won't paint a room in the nearer future. But who knows when it comes in handy :)
Seriously....wt the hell... this channel is becoming an addiction at this point 😂 ... I am so inspired now ... I will find a decent painter to do my 😂 walls
Let's pretend every time I said “5-in-1” I actually said “15-in-1”LOL also, we need a goober counter! 😂
😂😂😂and am loving loving it, btw I have issues with getting matte paint, I really love this dark moody aesthetic look on my new RUclips studio, but If possible, "WHAT'S THE MIXTURE GRADING OR WHAT COLORS ARE MIXED TO HAVE THIS KIND OF A LOOK!?"
I love you guys♡♡♡♡from Uganda!
You can use your screw driver and make some holes in the groove of the paint can so the paint runs back into the can.
So you're just gonna put my mediocre painting on blast like that? 😜💜👍
🤣🤣 just love ya! 💜

She Dunna did your undone!
I love that both Gerald and I were like “something’s not right! I need to ask Becki!!!”
When you both wrote me I was like, I need to make a video 🤣
I actually needed this. There are some good gems in here. Specifically about cutting the undercoat on the tape 👌 thanks!
so, new video Matthew???
You are not human the way you just nailed the cutting. 🤯
this is so satisfying to watch
That thumbnail is so superb, Chef's kiss(how's there not an emotion for this?)
Thank you!!

Best paint video on RUclips! Concise and hits all the important parts. Black office walls here I come! Thanks guys!
Best painting tutorial I've ever seen...and didn't even know that I need one...
Awesome tips in this video:
Trash bag tray liner
Backrolling
Sealing the painters tape
Sanding between coats
Indent the hole then fill it
Definitely painting my film room this trout gray color!
I don't do much painting but I watched this anyway. There's just something so magical about the process of cutting in... so visually pleasing.
Came here for random content and I got it!!! Love this channel!
Made watching paint dry exciting. Becki for President.
This is gonna be one of those videos I routinely rewatch

Great job cutting in Becki! Nice work!
I mean if you started a DIY channel, I wouldn't be mad.
I don't asked for painting tutorial but I am watching because love your videos how its entertaining :)
"work towards the erm of the roller". Good tips, nice colour thank you.

Amazing. I love the tray hack. Will apply it today when I paint my new studio.
so glad you did this. I have a blank slate office. Want to paint my office
Gray is so aesthetic 😍
Hell yea. Just what I needed. I’m about to move in a new house and wanted to pain the walls before hand. Thanks for the vid Becky and Chris!
So satisfying to watch
I get excited every time I get notification that you guys posted😁.
Yay!! Thanks!
We just painted the interior of our house black because of you two fab folks! We love the darker, somewhat Scandinavian look! Great post!
Oh awesome glad you are happy with it!
@@Davideramahn Depends on the paint being used and the surface it is going on. You can use a lacquer to help smooth out and make shiny.

Trout Grey - love it.
Yes, more of these videos please! I put that brush for cutting into my amazon cart immediately after !
First... to say this is going to help me style my studio in Miami
I'm starting to paint my kitchen! Thanks for this!
This was great guys. That undercoat on the tape!! Gold! I always get paint leak and it drives me insane. never would have thought about that.

Buy the replacement drywall patches (for fixing hole) paint that first and see if the color works with the lighting (use sample cans).
