    Haven't seen anyone mention this yet but we all know Sucrose is a bio-alchemist that works alongside Albedo and once she got her vision she started using it to study the elemental life forms in Teyvat, going as far as to mimic the power that the anemo hypostasis Beth has which can be seen in her gameplay that is really similar to an attack Beth uses when fighting it (the butterfly wind smash thing). Also, her elemental skill is named "Astable Anemohypostasis Creation - 6308" as well as her elemental skills mentioning stuff like "Sucrose used to give names to her volatile Anemo Hypostases" and "This is a little embarrassing, but though the elemental lifeforms birthed through this procedure dissipate very rapidly" which is fascinating since it would tie in very nicely with everything as she only was able to achieve this after she got her anemo vision

      But what's odd is that how did she get into alchemy, who taught her without going to Sumeru Academia, and how did she become Albedo's assistant
      Something is off about her cutscenes in Dragonspine Albedo event quests

    When I read Mona's Vision story, I got the feeling that she had a "vision" given to her by her master that has Mondstadt case. I don't know if it was empty or already had an element in it. But the last few lines suggests that when she got her own vision power, it went into the vision she already had instead of creating a new one with Fontaine case. So even though she is from Fontaine, her vision is of Mondstadt. If the original vision was empty then she is another of of those who has reignited an empty vision.

      What are the chances actually that Mona's vision used to belong to one of Mona's master's friends in that witch circle (Heix something I forgot the name QvQ)??? Like, with what we got from Kazuha, he was able to light up his friend's vision when his ambition aligned with the dead vision, so it makes you really wonder if maybe the reason why the vision holders who managed to light up dead visions got to make them light up was their ambition aligning with the one originally encased in the vision?

    Let's not forget that the Traveler's role of purification was also mentioned in Albedo's quest. I believe it was implied that Traveler could purify the whatever was left of Durin, and funnily because you said something about making gold, it would also mean Traveler is the last piece of that puzzle, because nobody before them was able to purify the dragons (both Durin and Dvalin), while Inazuma invented a system of constant accumulation and purification which actually works even without the Traveler, who however was recognized as the one who can actually do it, which may also imply that whoever was in charge of it before (one of them being Kitsune Saiguu) had special abilities which Traveler also has or that Inazuman purification system is such a work of art and genius that person who does the purification doesn't need any special powers. Hmm... curious.

    I love the radioactive parellel! However, the elements don't necessarily have to be radioactive. Anything with enough energy and the ability to pierce through objects will have the same effects as radiation. And guess what? The elements have that! We see that they easily spread through barriers and throughout bodies, and they are super high energy!
    I don't necessarily agree with comparing the elements to atoms, because the two don't behave very similarly. If anything, the elements seem to be more like quantum particles, in their abilities to warp around and spread through objects. Classical physics holds that all particles are formed from different "fields" in the universe, and by adding energy to a field, you get said particle. Elements could be fields in the world of Teyvat. Each element corrosponds to a type of field (like an electron or photon field in our world) and each element's behavior is determined by what field it originates from.
    This also explains reactions. Just like how combining certain quarks creates protons, combining certain elemental particles create different results. If geo is a slow moving heavy particle, it would be able to trap other elemental particles (crystalize) in much the way a higgs boson can grant mass. If Anemo is a light, fast particle, then it would be able to quickly impart energy into whatever it interacted with and spread it (swirl) like a photon can impart energy into a substance.
    Basically, treating each elemental as a field in physics explains a lot of their behavior, down to what qualities each particle has for each element.

      Hmm… I would strongly recommend against trying to use quantum physics concepts to make theories about the Genshin world. Doing so necessarily assumes that the creators of Genshin have a fairly accurate concept quantum mechanics, and that is, in my experience, a very unlikely assumption. If they are trying to use a quantum mechanical metaphor, there’s no predicting what they may be thinking, because there’s no telling what they know about the subject.
      It’s like trying to predict the ending of a time-travel plot. It’s futile, because no time-travel plot can stand up to scrutiny, as the concept is inherently paradoxical, so there’s no way to know what the author will do with it.

    • @joshdaboss4663
      @joshdaboss4663 3 года назад +41

      @@TheCheeseman1983 My response to this is twofold. First of all, concepts like elements are based on the real world, so the underlying factors may or may not be the same. It's worth a try.
      Two, Honkai Impact (MiHoYo's other game) uses quantum mechanics (at least a base-line understanding of them) for its story. So they do have some sort of awareness of it.

    I really love the theory that Khaenriah was destroyed because it posed a danger of a catastrophe similar to a meltdown that would threaten the entire Teyvat. I never bought that "the gods destroyed Khaenriah because Celestia doesn't like humans being independent of gods" explanation because it just directly contradicts what we saw from Venti and Zhongli. Forget the matter of trusting our beloved characters, it just makes no sense that Zhongli would liberate Liyue from himself and decide to continue watching over it till it eventually dies out if a nation being godless was ever valid grounds for its destruction. I'd even go so far as to suggest maybe the gods never even destroyed Khaenriah, rather Khaenriah was already destroyed by the meltdown and the Archons arrived later to do damage control, but to the people it looked like the Archons did the destruction. The gods would be very right to be secretive about it because the very knowledge that alchemy can be so potent is a huge infohazard and they'd rather be blamed for genocide than let it be revealed that such a destruction is possible by human means.
    Also, the former Dendro Archon is said to have died 500 years ago, and we're led to assume that they were slain by Khaenriah's defense during the attack, but by now we should know better than to assume the immediately obvious. What if they died because they decided to absorb all that energy, sacrificing themselves because it was too great for even a Gnosis bearer to withstand? And maybe they stepped up because Dendro is the element most closely related to the power of life, growth and healing, thus the most suitable for containing the radiation-like effects?
    Maybe the Dragonspine civilization was also not destroyed by the Skyfrost Nail for incurring the wraths of the gods for coveting their power, but rather it was already doomed to suffer a meltdown and the Nail was a means to minimize the extent of destruction by destroying the equivalent of the reactor before the meltdown.
    Of course, this doesn't make Celestia entirely justified though: couldn't they have done better? Do they even want to? Celestia is still very definitely suspicious and probably evil. Just saying that one particular accusation probably isn't true.
    A lot of fan works take Albedo's "if I lose control and destroy Mondstadt" musing to mean he might turn villainous or monstrous, but to me it always sounded like he was talking about his curiosities as an alchemist. That he's too passionate about alchemy to let his concern for Mondstadt suppress his desire to learn more. So maybe he's at least aware of the potent of alchemy and the fact that he could harness enough power to threaten Mondstadt. Venti's voice line about Albedo supports this as well: "It's an ancient power with unmistakable properties. Trying to harness it is dangerous indeed, I can't imagine what would happen if someone >lost control of it< in the city." Recall that Mondstadt hardly practiced alchemy till Albedo arrived, so naturally its god is wary of a guy bringing the risk to it, even if he's not going to do anything about it.
    These theories are so fascinating and it's the whole reason I was drawn to Genshin. It's really a great experience to be going around the game, making my own observations and finding out what others are discovering, connecting the dots and seeing what others are thinking.

    • @MrMarco302
      @MrMarco302 2 года назад +29

      The only thing that doesnt add up about the dendro archon theory is that the ones who saw what happened in khanriah lost any interest for the gnosis
      Venti doesnt care about his being taken
      Zhongli willingly gives his away for the contract
      Ei actively refused to ever wear the gnosis, even stated that "After what she saw on that day, she locked away the gnosis"
      We also have to take into account that both the dendro Archon and Raiden Makoto died during the cataclism.
      My theory is that the cataclism and the fall of khanriah are not the same thing, the cataclism came before, with all the monsters spewing from khanriah an attacking the other nations, something like the meltdown of dragonspine happened in sumeru and that's why it's half deserts and half forests, maybe the reason why the nation didnt become a dragonspine is because he sacrificed himself to stop the radiation as you mentioned. Shortly after this, the archons banded together and went to khanriah to try to help the people there and fight off the monsters, during this battle is when Raiden Makoto dies and Ei picks up the mantle of archon, however, with two of their archons dead, Celestia could not stay idle, and thats why khanriah fell.

What does blow my mind is the infohazard keyword being on the right track and the guess that Celestia throwing nails isn't just because of civilizations trying to peer into the stars and the abyss but because of the disasters that usually happen when they do gaining more and more strength.

There are also two other NPCs in the game that give up their visions and also never lose their ambitions. @@Ashikai There is an NPC in the Komore Teahouse called Nobumori, who actually talks about willingly giving up his vision. To him, willingly letting go of his vision felt like "letting go of a heavy burden" and "those obsessions I had before all disappeared". Which kind of implies that, while visions are granted at a very specific state of mind/ambition, they kind of work to *keep* a vision user in that state of mind/ambition. Which is great while you wish to pursue that specific ambition, but starts feeling like an obsession if your personal ambition changes. This may also be why willingly giving up a vision has no negative effects (since you already let go of that ambition), while getting one forcibly taken from you has very negative effects. As there is no other ambition or goal to take its place, you are left in the state of broken mind, where your brain is trying to make sense of your emotions and memories, while the context of those is completely erased like it never existed.

    As a fan of Honkai Impact 3rd as well, the more I listen to this the more I think that visions are the same thing as a tamed Herscherr Core. Herscherrs, for those who don't know, are humans who resonate with the will of Houkai, a malevolent being which spreads Houkai Radiation to destroy mankind *without* destroying the world. Those who are subsumed by personalities called Herscherrs become Titles, things like... "Herscherr of Sentience." The humans are hosts, and the Herscherr sleeps within them until awoken by Houkai Radiation, and then the personality tries to destroy the human and take over.
    Once a Herscherr awakens, they receive special abilities similar to those of a Vision. What this can be is variable, but generally speaking refers to the ability to control constructs and Honkai Beasts.
    Given that Genshin Impact is in the same universe, and it is made clear that the Honkai exists almost Ubiquitously, it could be that Celestia has... for lack of a better term, Tamed the Herscherrs of Honkai and mastered the forming of Herscherr Cores (the crystalized Houkai Radiation which serves as host of Herscher and their power source) which would explain why ambition is important. Herscherrs are "Rulers," and are often referred to as Gods by at least the community.
    I'm not sure if it's true, but it is an interesting similarity.

      Other than visions i think tamed honkai cores are more similar to gnosis, while visions are more similar to pseudo-cores, because I feel that vision granting is pretty similar herrschers giving out pseudo-cores to create pseudo-herrschers
      Just like sirin granting pseudo-cores to revive bella etc
      And with this theory in mind, i believe that delusions are similar to raw herrscher gems, since herrscher gems can still corrupt users that can utilize houkai energy (ex, gem of haste with himeko)
      And leyline energy is just houkai energy it can corrupt humans(turning them into zombies, and those dark auras surrounding humanoids when they're infected with tatarigami) or spawn creatures (honkai beast and elemental beings) but those who can resist and contain it will be a super human(Valkyries/stigmatas and vision holders)

      What about elements? Can people choose any one of element or Not?

    • @TheLunarguardian
      @TheLunarguardian 3 года назад +6

      First, Elements are unique to Teyvat. In Honkai there is no outright elemental system, instead it focuses on a rock-paper-scissors type of combat where Mech, Bio, and Psychic (in that order) are the main forms of combat. However, Honkai Impact is a more advanced society. By which I mean, through several survivors of the extinction events called Impacts they have been able to engineer their vision equivalent literally, making Psyudo-cores to create the Psyudo-Herscherrs which your team is made up of.
      Unlike Visions, Psyudo-cores do allow for some control over what 'type' a character can be, and in changing the core (aka the battlesuit) you can change what a character plays as. That's the outfit system in Honkai. Visions, however, aren't controlled by humanity but rather at best by the archons, and at worst by Celestia. It is stated a few times that Archons do make the visions, but it is unclear depending on how much you trust the current lore whether or not they choose who gets them, or if it is some sort of natural process.
      Basically, In Honkai you can choose your type, but Herscherrs do not- their powers being based on their relationship to the will of Honkai, but in Teyvat at best only the Archons or Celestia have control, and at worst it is entirely random or based on the ambition presented, happening almost automatically in that case.

    The bit about Zhongli and erosion got me thinking; what if just like a gnosis, visions are also only temporary /shields/ against corruption and just like delusions they're gradually killing their users but at a slower rate. Plus because characters get more powerful as you Ascend them, and the higher they more power they would consume maybe. Celestia is deliberately sacrificing individuals they consider dangerous at the same time they're trying to control all that sort of elemental radiation. (I'm not sure if this goes against any lore I have the attention span of a fish)
    Edit/ this could also tie into why vision users are so affected when their vision is taken away, if they were being corrupted by their own visions and their vision is at the same their only protection against it, like they're losing their identity just like the corrupted monsters/people that were affected by that said elemental radiation

      I feel like it might be a grander goal than that. If Celestia really is the antagonist, them finding out Zhongli quietly took part of Tsaritsa's rebellion (versus venti who got his _probably_ unwillingly stolen from him) will only result in Liyue getting destroyed.
      I don't think Zhongli would risk a rebellion, especially from the unoriginal Cryo archon, for the country he spent 6000 years fighting and hand carving.
      His line on his trailer, "To cleanse the land and defend our safe harbor... That was the first contract in Liyue." Is a mighty feat that hasn't been successful given Xiao's the only yaksha left to technically "cleanse" Liyue (and as stated in this video, the poor guy's not actually cleansing anything. @@Captain_Torres you've got a point about the rite of passing bc why else would Zhongli decide to fall during the time Tsaritsa is deciding to yoink all Gnosis? And Zhongli definitely feels something about Khaenri'ah, his act 2 story quest kinda hints something (plus feeling guilty for not giving MC clues to their sibling.
      However, the only thing I'm curious about is the idea that Celestia has no idea what's going on; they prob have an inkling but maybe their attention is split between their archons and the abyss/Khaenri'ah survivors.
      I mean, If Khaenri'ah was truly godless/archonless as they say, the only thing that prob got them on Celestia's radar was being an advanced life form. So, with him being an archon, Zhongli "dying" would be huge on Celestia's radar. They may might even know Zhongli's alive but bc he's not an actual threat (and maybe doesn't intend to be?) and he's keeping his end of the bargain, they're leaving him be.
      A *_far fetched_* conclusion would be that Tsaritsa is working on the favor of Celestia and her rebellion, if linked with Honkai, is a rebellion against another life form and not Celestia itself. Maybe it's another life form that brought about visions and it got adapted to Teyvat's normal?

  • @hanzijing3485

    The description of the Elemental Specialist achievement namecard (Colors of the Rainbow) seems to suggest that the current 7 elements are perhaps an arbitrary split:
    "Light can refract into countless colors, but people stop at seven because they're lazy to count. Perhaps the elements are like that, too."
    Maybe the current 7 elements are split this way because these are the elements the Archons in charge possess. Maybe we'll get more elements in the future.
    Going along with the light analogy, white light is a mix of the full visible light spectrum, which is what the twins start off with.
    It is also the color of items that can be interactable under elemental sight and not affected by a specific element.
    I might be blurring the line between gameplay and lore, but is it because they have a balance of elements within them?
    I don't think it is a lack of element as during 'We will be united' when we tried to inspect the first field tiller there was no white glow, to which Dain mentioned that the machine did not use the elements to function.

    I have a Theory on the Teyvat World structure but am not fully convinced on it myself, though it seems viable, if anyone spots some holes or gaps in the theory please correct me;
    In the Honkai Manga there is this thing called "The Seed of Sumeru" which can create a World and Teyvat being the World created from it, Its location being at the middle of the World "Sumeru" and Sumeru is also the 4th Nation in the Traveler's Journey which is perfectly in the middle of the 7 Nation Journey; The Seed has now grown to be the world tree which is also what the leylines originate from. I also think that Teyvat is in an Astrolabe in another dimension where there might be more "Astrolabe Worlds
    My Theory on the Travelers (I'll also be saying the theory with Aether being the Traveler we play);
    The Travelers aren't the same as the ones in the BP cutscene because they are Twins whereas the ones in the BP are heirs of different ages, the male heir came after the corruption of the other female heir which is older since she was sent out earlier. The heirs' from the BP also come from "A glorious Kingdom established in the Heavens". And the gnosis pearl is actually the Seed of Sumeru but has been changed into a pearl in folklore and stories over time. It's obvious that when this is proven true, that many people would want to get their hands on it. The Travelers landed on Teyvat just because of their traveling of Worlds but when Lumine wakes up she get word of this "pearl" and goes on a journey for it but when she comes in contact with it she experiences the memories within it and gets corrupted by the leylines (the same as the heir), this causing her to lead the abyss. We also know that the gods are aware of the existence of other Worlds, as Venti says to the Traveler in the Genshin Manga when reciting his story of Vanessa (I won't go to deep into this part since it is a spoiler for the manga)
    But this is Just a Theory of mine and it's All Speculation not necessarily the Truth :P

    • @arpitmudgal9278
      @arpitmudgal9278 3 года назад +6

      There are many plot holes here
      1st i will start with twin
      Are twin can't be corrupted since at the start of the story we get to choose any and we see both have the same powers and strength. Which means like aether lumine is also able to purify corruption
      2nd point- now why is she is with abyss
      The corruption makes ones loose all the control of themselves. Where are twin is consistently keeping the corruption in enough check that abyss being near to her can have their consciousness. But she can't completely purify them because of constant corruption thats why she is with them
      3rd point who is the heir and pearl
      Its not talking about us its talking about the division and later formation of Celestia (floating island)
      4th point sumeru seed
      Sumeru is not released due to being in middle but due to pate development of dnedro element
      5th what is Celestia
      Well if you remember archon war you weren't told why it was fought the original reason. It was fought because of Celestia and to overthrow true knowledge the old archons

      @@arpitmudgal9278 to the 2nd point I should have corrected what I meant by corruption in the theory and the 5th point, so I'll mention it here;
      What I meant by corruption was the leylines feeding her the information about the past from the seed and her witnessing the past of how things were and why the gods ruined khaenri'ah, we can assume it was a fight due to Celestia and to overthrow the old archons but what if it was a sinister plot by the "high council of gods " in Celestia. As far as we know, Celestia does have a political and maybe economical Structure. In the Manga, when Vanessa talks about Wanting to go to Celestia and stuff when she is locked up and Venti came to free her, Venti's memory? of Celestia was like that of people he hated and people who looked at others with judgement of social status (that's the vibe I got from it at least) and it was the Archons who were Representatives of Celestia, This theory is also proven with Zhongli's opinion on the destruction of Celestia (It didn't seem like he wanted to but was forced to). I agree on the 4th point tho because it was just a coincidental possibility for me as well but I thought I should mention it anyway.
      Now addressing the pearl/seed;
      I think that the pearl/seed is something that created the world the twins were from and the people in the world of the twins' already acquired, knowing the workings of the world (again probably classified knowledge to the high council of their world) and made world travelling open for anyone and the twins when of an eligible age started doing it, sort of like driving. Another Possibility is that the Twins are from the dimension with all the Astrolabe Worlds. An Interesting point that I noticed was that the twins had wings in the first cutscene and those wings seemed like something out of the honkai world or rather an extension of it perhaps. This point im not too sure about but just a thought

It follows then that Visions grant strength and resilience beyond the general application of energy manipulation (Though it's also possible that she is using Anemo energy to make her sword lighter somehow). This is actually a really fascinating take on the science of Teyvat, and makes a whole lot of sense. If this theory were to be believed, then it’s actually possible that the supposed “Cataclysm”, the destruction of Khaenriah, wasn’t actually caused by the archons themselves, but actually an enormous radioactive elemental meltdown that needed to be contained; a meltdown so massive and dangerous, that it necessitated all seven of them to be there, and even resulted on one of them dying. It was a containment operation so urgent that with the lack of a way for purification, they were left with little choice but to destroy everything there and let nothing leave lest it spread to the rest of the world.

    Also I want to mention that Kaeya's voicelines on vision, explains it in an interesting but matter of fact way. To quote: "The apparatus that allows us to see is our eyes. A Vision is the apparatus by which we control the elements.". My Take on this is that Visions are a different way of viewing the world. A quite literal take on what Kaeya said. But they can also act as a conduit (not sure how to express it well). This can be true of delusions as well. For what is a delusion but a twisted vision.

    11:45 - 12:45 Another interesting note here is when creating your party composition, you have the opportunity to gain "Elemental Resonance," a tab you are able to press in the party menu. When two party members of the same element are on your team, text is highlighted in the Elemental Resonance menu. For example, if there are two Hydro characters, you gain "Soothing Water: Affected by Pyro 40% less time. Increases incoming healing by 30%." The stats change per element, and there is even a Resonance Type for "Any 4 Unique Elements," allowing the party to gain overall resistance. Two different elements can also be highlighted, so you could say have two Hydro and two Anemo party members and in turn gain those two Resonance buffs.
    I think this game mechanic definitely can be related to the point you pose saying that Visions can act like a "shield” and how the host can release an elemental energy via particles. Although the element Hydro does not block Hydro in game, like your mentioning of vision bearers being resistant to ARS of a specific element, Elemental Resonance still allows for some kind elemental power to aid an allogene. Not sure if Mihoyo did this intentionally, but it is awesome to think about since the world’s laws can be backed by actually game mechanics!
    Also, another great video! Absolutely love your content and would be over the moon to see more about Teyvat’s world structure. Keep up the awesome work, Ashikai!! :)

      This would mean that the omnipresent god statue is a huge catalyst for elemental energy and is potential capable of absorbing all of the radiation in inazuma? Maybe the reason why Baal was collecting visions was because celestia uses them to spy on allogenes and collect the radiation so Baal decided to collect visions so celestia couldn't spy on allogenes anymore and imprison them (Panopticon theory) but she needed a way to suppress the radioactivity therefore she took the visions and embeded them into the statue so it could absorb the radiation from all of inazuma and serve as a some sort of protection device as well?

    I believe that the statement about some rocks having better elemental conduction is true. Take into account that we have electro charged rocks that can be harvested with pyro. When I first learned about visions and then read the manga I thought to myself "why are these specific people getting visions?" The Inazuma chapter answered this question to me(although it doesnt answer why lisa has a vision since she was just thinking of having one and she just got one)then I thought of what is the actual purpose and I remembered Vanessa's face when she went on Celestia...not as happy as we would think,then I watched a few theory videos and established my small theory that the substaner might be good because her biggest mistake is to separate the twins and send them on different journeys and that makes me wonder if it was intentional from her to separate them or not...is she actually good or evil...only THEN I thought that Teyvat is an actual game inside...the game,like the people and everything were created only for some gods amusement and the archons were like substaners that give power to worthy people with ambition but only cause their ambition brings amusement to the gods and Celestia is actually a territory for the people with visions that is not what they thought but more likely it is a torture place...for the old toys to die so new toys can be born
    To point more out the Substaner might wanted to put an end to people's suffering just to be an amusement of a God so that's why she sensed the twins in separate ways...
    I am sorry If my theory is weird or terrible but WHY THE HECK DID THE SUBSTANER SEPARATE THE TWINS IF SHE WANTED THEM OUT SO BADLY THE COULD JUST LET THEM LEAVE,WHY TO GO ALL THE TROUBLE TO BREAK THEM OFF HUH?
    That's all

    Interesting video. Seeing elemental energy as radioactive seems a bit far fetched to me. I would propose that elemental energy is similar to the energy in the Chakra system. Consider the following: there are 7 Chakras within the body. Health issues can arise from a Chakra not in a balanced state aka a closed Chakra or one overflowing. By balancing the flow of this internal energy can lead to an Ascension of one's self.
    Reflecting on the idea that both memories and elemental energy flow through the leylines is also very similar. The difference being it flows through the world itself not just through those individuals who reside within it. We were informed that Visions are the manifestation of a characters ambition containing both their memories and the capacity to manipulate a specific elemental energy. We know that elemental energy exists in the world as a static energy as well. Fire contains pyro, water contains hydro, lightning contains electro, etc. I would propose that the greater density of elemental energy equates to greater amounts of memory. Naturally these extreme states can be very unbalancing and thus toxic to those not practiced in manipulating the elements.

    Interesting video as always, however I have a minor gripe regarding sheer cold (although this is likely due to lack of clarity when regarding it).
    The sheer cold appears to be a result of the leaking elemental energy being dispersed into the environment and condensing into a more stable cryo element, not in high enough concentration to imbue the character with cryo or cause elemental reactions with the torches, but enough to cause snow and the sheer cold status (which as a side note is accumulated faster when swimming or gliding which mirrors the elemental reactions of freeze and swirl but to a lesser degree).
    In the video it’s not clear as whether you mean to say the effects of sheer cold is a direct or indirect result of the elemental energy fallout.
    It makes more sense for the sheer cold to be the indirect effect of the excess elemental energy condensing as cryo, rather than being an effect directly caused by the elemental energy itself seeing as characters are afflicted with the sheer cold status regardless if they possess a vision, also last I checked goulash was just a warming meal and not a way to shield oneself from radiation.
    Aside from clarifying that, I was interested as to whether the elements have an order to them similar to the chemical elements, from bare observations it makes sense for elements like pyro and electro to be of higher energy and instability, hydro and cryo likely being more stable with geo and anemo seemingly having unique properties where geo acts as a sort of stabiliser and anemo as a catalyst, possibly being somewhere in the middle, also I’d throw dendro somewhere in the middle as well for now as there’s not a lot to go off of.
    I say hydro and cryo are likely to be the more stable elements as in teyvat the most abundant element is hydro, and it makes sense that the most stable element would eventually become the most abundant, I say cryo is also fairly stable as it appears to be the primary element the excess elemental energy in dragonspine condenses into.
    In contrast, pyro is in very low abundance around teyvat unlike hydro, and electro only appears naturally in very high energy storms only to dissipate immediately outside of stabilised electro infused gemstones.
    Dendro similar to hydro is high in abundance, however is able to fuel pyro through the burning reaction suggesting that while stable, dendro still contains a fairly high level of energy, likely leaving dendro somewhere with geo and anemo.
    All this element talk got my physics and chemistry brain worked up, so I wanted to put it all out there as food for thought.

      I'm not sure whether it matters to the theory whether it's direct or indirect, but that's a nice point for discussion separately I think. Ultimately, it's not that I'm making an argument for elemental energy to *literally* be radiation, I just think it behaves like it so it's interesting to draw some assumptions and parallels about how it may behave.

      Also now typing this, do you think the ability of the vision to ward off/shield against elemental energy may play a role as to the purpose of the hundred eyed statue?
      I feel as though there's a theme of wards, barriers and purification in Inazuma through the ward repair world quest, the whole deal with the Mikage furnace, and the cleansing rituals.
      That's on top of the fact that Inazuma is now a closed off nation and has a constant storm surrounding it, as if it was preparation for something more permanent.

    I always wonder about the criteria each archon has for grating visions. I feel like just following the ideals isn't enough to just be worthy in the eyes of an archon. One this I can say for sure in that characters sharing the same element seem t have some common theme. For example, Electro users all seem to be defying something. Keqing and her skepticism of the adepti, Fischl and her chuuni antics, or Lisa going against the Sumeru scholars, Or Beidou going against the law to help others. Cryo characters have some soft of inner conflict. Qiqi is between life and death. Ganyu feel divided between her human and adepti half. Rosaria is a nun but also a former bandit. but now she hunts anyone who'd be a danger to Monstadt. Hydro characters all appear to have some selfless motivation. Tartaglia is with the fatui for the sake of his family but doesn't want to involve then. Barbara being a deaconess speaks for is self. And Xingqiu has a chivalrous nature. Mona refuses to use astrology for personal gain. (on a side note, her vision was a gift from her teacher) I wanna say more but We currently don't have any Dendro character so I don't know what common themes they might have.

  • @sayansaha155
    @sayansaha155 2 года назад +2

    This theory also explains the Astrolabe world of Teyvat. Now, if Celestia wants to supress the knowledge of 'nuclear/elemental/leyline fallout', they'd have to first : Encase the fallout regions in strict lockdowns, post fallout centers i.e. Mondstadt, Liyue, etc. Then give each shelter a representative that can resist the radiation in the form of visions and combat mutations in the form of slimes and other mobs. The Gnosis acts as a very enthusiastic steroid boost that also connects the Archons to Celestia in case the Heavenly administrators decide to check on the condition. Then they'd cover up the sky and isolate the entire planet and nearby region of space, create a false star system, create a reincarnation system to ensure no outside factor can contaminate this 'closed space experiment.' And finally create an observatory that can collect souls and store them in case of emergencies, and coincidentally the observatory has to be placed on the sky above their garden world. Finally, create a security program/enforcer who will regulate the order of Teyvat and ensure nothing outside contaminates their garden world. And if someone DOES contaminate Teyvat, the 'Sustainer of Heavenly Principles' will keep this new element contained so as to prevent radiation leak. Makes sense why this knowledge is kept secret as humans always go overboard without thinking about the consequences.

    Dang that was really a well researched video with a perspective totally different from mine, and so good that now I doubt my theories
    Ok let me share my theory
    So first let me describe what I think of Celestia
    Personally I think Celestia is acting as watchtower, it wants to create a artificial paradise and thus act in a direction in which peace is maintained across Teyvat and want to take it in direction which it think is best for this paradise
    Celestia want it to grow in a particular direction where it think that it can remain as paradise
    To continue it's development, celstia choose best among world who are capable of making big changes and bring revolutionary change in Teyvat, and gift them with a vision
    these vision also act as a monitoring device too, so that celestia can keep monitoring that how they are doing, so they can reward them(ascending to godhood if they take it in direction celestia want, or can check whether they are taking it in negative direction, trying to disrupt the peace in artificial heaven celestia is trying to create)
    Those civilization which started growing too much disrupting the balance of power and pose as a threat to this artificial heaven, even if risk is minimal celestia eradicated them, it wants to keep Teyvat balanced and keep it growing, It doesn't let someone become powerful enough to cause major destruction
    It's like destroying a country before it start understanding nuclear technology so that they can't make nuclear bombs and thus world remain out of danger
    Basically Celestia can be taken as a gardener who is trying to grow their artificial garden(Teyvat) and want to grow it in a particular way and removes every weed as soon as they sprout or grow a bit so that they can't cause problem later
    Now I think that unknown goddess is one of the major goddess, or maybe the head of Celestia herself
    So she is aware of what is happening, as she already know that our sibling is in the side of Khanneriah and watched the destruction of Khanneriah, so she take her as a "danger" to her created peaceful paradise and seeing how we are able to escape this world makes her further aware of our powers, and make her even worried that we might bring this isolated artificially grown paradise in everyone's attention and might bring an external force with us next time to attack, so she fights us,
    Now the part where she doesn't kill us is maybe because she can't because she just used her powers to destroyed a whole nation and is currently tired, so she just seal our power away, stopping us from escaping
    While traveller reason to look out for various world seems to be finding a suitable habitual place where they can relocate their old world
    They are on a mission after all after their homeworld is destroyed and they are kinda last hopes (description of sword of descension and wings of descension)
    *Also apparent from the line where abyss mage talks to our twin about bringing their homeworld on Teyvat

    Going by your theory, visions may work like TLD badges that employees wear when they work in radioactive industries. The vision holders are the unknowing employees, visions are the TLD badges, elemental manipulation is employee benefits, leylines are radiation leaks and Celestia is doing some kind of cover-up for a problem they don't want us finding out. Elemental manipulation is just a way to motivate visionless civilians to seek a vision. More vision holders equates to more people to contain whatever it is that needs to be contained but not just anyone can get a vision because you need nerves of steel and a will of stone to not easily get corrupted via erosion or the abyss.
    When you mentioned that the domains are huge transmutation circle, it reminded me of the parametric transformer. Basically, I think that the parametric transformer is just a less refined miniature imitation of a domain. When we fight in domains, we are more likely to use elemental skills and bursts and cause reactions. Once we are ready to claim the rewards, we need to use resin. The parametric transformer works in somewhat the same way because it needs elemental attacks to work. The resins we use in domains may act like some kind of refinement material so we can only get a specific type of reward from domains and leylines. As such, we can only get random materials from the parametric transformer, but materials we can get from domains, leylines and bosses (elemental crystals) nonetheless.
    I don't know much about the hypostases but they might as well be the by-product of Khemia. Their cubic shapes remind me so much of cubic crystal lattice structures in chemistry.
    Anyway, I like how you try to dissect everything and try to make sense of it no matter how over the top your theory seem to be. 👍

    miHoYo's universe: There is an "Imaginary Tree" which carries countless parallel worlds on it's leaf and branches, according to Entrophy Theory, if the civilization and technology of a world is growing up, the entrophy is also going up, this is going to break the balance of the energy, therefore, a disaster called "Honkai" will occur. Honkai is a filting system on the Imaginary Tree, basically, the more development, the worse the consequences. The target of Honkai is to wipe off this world, to fight Honkai, people must increase their technology, and this will lead stronger Honkai - vicious circle. Honkai also brought a strong and unstable energy to the world.
    Because Genshin is also a world on Imaginary Tree, therefore, Honkai is also affecting Teyvat. According to the game Honkai Impact, the Honkai is able to choose some people in this world, and put a mind of Herrscher into their body. Most of the time, the Herrscher's mind is much stronger and it will take control of the body. At that time, this person will become a Herrscher. Herrscher is like a General of Honkai, they can order all the disaster cause by Honkai, lead the monster created by Honkai. I think you all know that in Khaenri'ah, alchemist Gold become a sinner and create bunch of monsters, I guess it is because Gold turn into Herrscher.
    By the way, Ley Line is full of elemental energy. The element is running in the Ley Line like water in the pipe. Khaenri'ah people is able to use elemental power by digging the Ley Line. So Khaenri'ah does not have god.

    As an interesting note (for me, at least) I was talking about Diona's lore with my mom (that saw the character and asked) and that got me thinking.
    You see, while I was explaining her gift/curse and the concept of visions having the ambitions (destroy the wine industry in Mondstadt, so his cool dad is with her forever) and the memories, she asked a key question: _when she realizes that her dream is impossible, what would happen with this cute cat?_
    Both of those two ambitions are impossible for her: his dad will die someday, and every beverage she creates is pure bliss.
    If you give up your ambitions, (as opposed to being taken away) will the vision disappear by itself? Or will it just turn off, like when a vision-holder dies? Will those memories disappear too?
    Mom made me feel a little sad for Diona, and kind of wishing she never grows up to realize those things.
    Edit: Grammar, sorry for my English, is not my first language.

    1:02 theory disclaimers can’t stop me if I ignore them
    2:48 crystalfly core pog
    4:30 minor detail but Guhua is said to be an adeptus, which might complicate things
    5:17 I’m pretty sure that Zhongli is implying something along the lines that, since harnessing elemental energy is a great feat, and the people knew that and still stood by Zhongli, they must have respected him a lot.
    6:14 No, I would not consider adepti to be gods. Zhongli is the Prime Adeptus and a god, but that doesn’t mean all adepti are gods. Adepti are more than human, but at most they’d be like demigods
    7:02 I know you’re about to segue into the next part of your theory, but yes, at face value, Visions would be a gift. Think about it, ideally if you work hard-> you get Vision, and aside from putting in hard work, it’s essentially free superpowers. Ofc this doesn’t prevent there from being a catch, but many superheroes tend to have kryptonites anyway
    8:36 smh my head can’t believe you didn’t time Beidou’s skill
    9:26 you mention that Smaragdus Jadeite was full of Geo energy, and while that’s probable, there’s the possibility it isn’t just Geo. (Nevermind you address it) Dragonfall is a good example, it was supposedly created by elemental reactions iirc
    10:36 perfect place for an over the top zoom on his words
    10:50 to a degree, I assume places like Dragonspine and certain Inazuma electro lakes still damage Vision users, it’d be more of a resistance imo
    14:15 idk, the reason why Sal Vind got smited is under contention, but ig that works as a substitute
    14:31 smh my head no Irminsul talk
    15:07 good argument that it was indeed the Ley lines fuckery caused the snow, and it wasn’t the nail, counterargument would be that the tree is fixed now but snow isn’t fixed. but that’s a minor detail
    15:38 well tbf if you are exposed to too much energy in any form you’ll have bad effects. also, since the Ley Lines carry elemental energy, it could be that the radiation bit is actually just an overflow in elemental energy and not Ley Line energy.
    16:11 god of void? Osial is the god of the Vortex, and orobashi is… something, but I don’t think there’s any god of void mentioned anywhere
    21:35 perhaps it’s less of a stabilizing the elemental energy, but emitting it? like using up the ambient energy to spread it out and reduce the concentration in some areas
    22:40 this line of thought is pretty good
    24:00 might be a good point to include how Lawachurls are made, (accumulation of elemental energy)
    26:15 honestly you probably could just leave it at “elemental energy is in the Ley lines, deal with it”
    honestly I like the idea that the MC is meant to purify the Ley lines or something like that
    HUGE THING (you might already know about)
    Dust of Azoth desc WOULD MASSIVELY HELP your theory, not only does it mention disrupting the elemental balance, but it also mentions transmuting elements

    Balethunder literally sounds like geiger-counter ticks.
    Clogged Ley Line makes me think that there is a clot of some kind within the Ley Line. Since it is described as separate from the other condition for the formation of a Hypostasis - high elemental energy - we can say that it is a clot of memories that clogs the Ley Line in this way. A clot of memories could be formed from a high concentration of a certain emotion within the memories; that 'emotion' could very well be ambition. Losing one's Vision can cause memory fog in some cases, i.e. the memories within the allogenes get 'clogged' such that they cannot recall them at will. I've always thought that Hypostases being distinctly cube shaped is quite reminiscent of the Unknown God. She literally turns both siblings into cubes before doing god knows what (heh) to them. Hypostases may simply be her doing the same to particularly strong beings of certain elemental power, possibly even Vision Holders, who could cause a lot of harm to Teyvat as 'nuclear fallout' hazards. The fact that you need their remnants to make your own allogenes stronger - to Ascend them - is quite morbid if this is true.
    Elemental energy, Ley Line energy, Abyssal energy - they all do remind me of Houkai, or Honkai energy. Honkai roughly translates to 'collapse', and collapse is definitely something you can use to describe nuclear fallouts and whatnot. Allogenes are resistant to Elemental energy, Valkyrja are resistant to Houkai energy. The key to transmutation in the real world is quite dangerous in terms of the literal fallout it can produce, it makes sense for transmutation in Teyvat to be similarly just as dangerous - and the fact that reactions are improved with *elemental* mastery? Transmutation itself can be used to produce other kinds of energy - thermal, light, sound, kinetic - which we use to transform into electricity to power our, in all intents and purposes, magical devices that do unimaginable things. Mutation is generally just unwanted transmutation - it can be harmful, it can be useful, and it can just be - and I find the Abyss to be pretty much just that.

    I feel like the whole energy/element and ascension is easier to understand if you know Chinese culture. Cus it was all very apparent to me, because most of these ideas come from xianxia/Wuxia stories. But now I realize that none of this is really understandable for western audiences.
    Let me explain xianxia a little, in xianxia novels, the cultivators cultivate adeptal energy, and once they reach a certain level, they need to ascend, and once they reach a certain level of cultivation, they become a god and achieve eternal life. In these stories, you normally train your body to be able to accept the edeptal energy, so if you inject a normal person with too much adeptal energy, they combust. Sound familiar? Elements are probably kind of like adeptal energy, the visions holders are like cultivators, their bodies are trained to accept the energy.
    And since xianxia is the most popular genre in China, it’s kinda self explanatory, that probably why no one questions it.
    And I say this pretty confidently, because lay lines, domains and corrupt energy is also often present in these stories, and not always, but in many they also have different elements to master, and obviously Genshin isn’t a xianxia story, but I see so many concepts that are common in Chinese stories.
    Edit: I’ve just finished the video, and found out people don’t know what lay lines are. These are hard to explain….even I don’t quite understand them, and they’re kinda different in every story. They are like underground lines that contain concentrated elemental energy. they intertwine and feed beings like the hypostasis and azdaha, that’s why he was mad that humans attacked it.
    And domains in Genshin are kinda different than the ones in xianxia stories, in xianxia they are normally left behind by a powerful cultivator who has passed away, the equivalent in Genshin I think it would be khanri’ah
    Omg after explaining all this I realized that you guys see the game completely different than I do :O
    I would strongly suggest checking out xianxia novels, it’ll help you understand the world building of Genshin a bit better, and it’s a genre that doesn’t exist in western media, and it’s just a super interesting style of story after you know what’s going on XD

      I don't know anything about Xianxia or even where to begin looking at that for reputable translations...
      But Leylines aren't a fantasy thing. Our planet has them, but they're not energy veins (at least not scientifically). They've been observed by archeologists since the mid 1800s and given the name Ley Lines in the 1920s. Although, these days they're kinda associated with ancient alien theory and all that.
      I don't know if this is just a localization thing though. I don't know what they're called in Chinese.
      Regardless, I don't really think my understanding is different from yours, at least not different from your explanation of it. They're still energy veins to me, just more like veins that naturally circulate through the earth rather than from being to being. I have a couple other videos that are less weird than this one that explains it well. The adeptal energy is new information to me. I see what you're saying about the Xianxia influences, but I'm wondering why then Genshin would pick a Gnostic theme and lock Adepti only to Liyue? Seems like an odd choice.
      Interested to learn more from you, if you're willing!

    13:00 The thing about this is that people get inflicted with pyro from standing on a campfire, or a torch, or a lit patch of grass, and people standing in water or the rain get inflicted with hydro, and these elements are strong enough to cause a reaction. But also, causing vaporize by standing in a fire or things like that don't actually harm them, or at least not that much, because it seems the source of the damage is not from the reaction, but from what is causing the reaction. So, putting water on a fire, in the Genshin universe, may truly be an elemental reaction, it's just a tiny, practically harmless one.

    You blowed my mind once again. I cant believe that this all makes somehow sense to me. I never ever seen a better theorie than that. Did you really found that out all on your one with some help of some websites? If yes, crazy good work. I cant say more than that because I am still blowen away from it.

    Interesting theory!
    My thoughts revolve around the "Genesis Pearl" as I believe that is the mission we were sent on and one sibling got sidetracked here on Teyvat.
    It's the bigger picture and the one I am most interested in. Will there be more worlds for us after Teyvat? Will we be able to find out more about the pearl by the end of our travels here?

    another addition to the elements part: i dont remember which quest this was from, but you need to fill a container with "pure water," not hydro or just water

    Wait Mora are made from Rex Lapis right, so how do we get Mora from Leyline Overflow with the same use and power (to enhance weapon and alchemy) as the same Mora made from a literal GOD?

    • @Ashikai
      @Ashikai  3 года назад +5

      Memories, mostly. It's like... recycling. We spend mora to transmute things, so the mora memories go into the leylines, then sprout up in the yellow leyline overflows.

    as someone who has a bit of education in physics and chemistry, smaragdus jadeite immediately clicked as radioactive to me the moment they described the symptoms. i only ever thought of it as an isolated thing though, the idea of elemental energy itself being radiation is really interesting!

    I just found your videos, and I love your theories. I'm watching them all from the beginning. The cataclysm, being some sort of nuclear fallout makes a lot of sense. It'll be interesting to see how all these theories play out as the game continues.
