Name was not recorded with that guitar, this guitar was only used for live purposes on the DUTG tour. Nobody knows the actual guitar Name was recorded with, but if I ever meet John it is my #1 question for him. I want to know how that song was recorded.
history right here. john is a musical prodigy. and the goo's are a great band, whether you are into them or not. great band and buffalo is a great city.
Due to the alternate tunings her uses, I'd guess John owns about 50 different guitars. No big loss. Although giving away the "Name" guitar was very brave. Surely this was for charity, right? But it's not specified.
Nothing but love for Rzeznik, and Norman's guitars, but the title should be "Hock 'n Roll". 1. Quick story about the guitar 2. "Use the silver/black pen for this one" 3. "I'll be the easel" 4. Attach unobtainable price tag
So when I was a kid a would break strings and be too poor to buy new ones. I would fiddle with tunings to make the most use out of them and one day I landed on a tuning of mostly D and noticed how mich it sounded like goo goo dolls. Its now my standard tuning for my own music. Cheers!
nooo, that's priceless john. do not give them all to him. i would die having one of those guitars. btw, im not good at guitars no matter how i try to learn.
IN A WOrld where most folks are not aware......even the most SLEEPY of us can SEE John is an angel of love, constantly SHEDDING any selfishness and roaming around looking to help a mo/fo out...nome sayin?
Man, how could he let go of the guitar he recorded name with... that instrument is a piece of history..

I couldn’t agree more. I would love to have owned it. That song resinates in my life some 26 years later. It’s a part of me. Talented man Reznick
That’s the point.
@@mikes1969name was recorded in an oil drum find my sister at a place called South dock Marina Cafe in New Jersey in August of 1994
That guy has always been one of the best. Much respect!
very nice of Mr Rzeznik to help. I own one of his old Giffin 12 strings that I bought from Norman's
Norman the business man making sure John doesn't forget his own signature🤸
I would love to own Johnny's ESP guitar. It was very gracious of him to donate them.
20 minutes later, John walked back in and bought them all back. :p Great stuff guys
hahaha!
Is this actually true??
OMG!! I love it so much when John talks about the stories of guitars. He must have many incredible stories to tell. I love John Rzeznik so much 💜✨🎶😍🧡
history right here. john is a musical prodigy. and the goo's are a great band, whether you are into them or not. great band and buffalo is a great city.
John's guitar playing is underrated, IMO..he's a songwriter first..but his guitar approach is also original.
Couldn’t agree more
It amazes me how he comes up with all these tunings that sound amazing for his songs, he is really a musical genius
with you completely on this - he's a great player
Saw GGD on Monday. It was fantastic and he’s such a good player. Voice sounded great too.
your the man for letting it all go.. I can almost see your heart breaking every time you hand one over....
Hearing "name" just took me back. Have akways loved that song! Wanted to hear him keep goin!
Johns a real dude. Great guy.
he is cool, check out the professorofrock interview with him recently. solid down to earth dude.
That guy is like fuck ur storys sign with the grey pen
dude you had me crying hahaha
When he started playing “Name” I had so many memories flash before my eyes.
wow,he sold some very significant guitars....I'm not sure I could have done that.i still have my first and first real guitars.
i think he is going to secretly want that black "Name" guitar back in a few years.
ITS THIS GUITAR!!! Oh my gosh Johnny I love that guitar! And you still own it! Wow
Let love in is a amazing album.

Probably. He does LOADS of charity work and concerts so it wouldn't surprise me.
O.M.G. I would love the "Name" guitar. Just fantastic. Great man. Underrated band!

COOL... MORE THAN A GESTURE - CARLOS GUITARLOS
A song called "hold on" hold on a minute, it's "before it's too late".
God i would pay $5,000 for that ESP. if it hasn't been sold already!!!!
I have the same in candy apple red. I bought in 1999 after saw his yellow which i adored. i love this guitar still with me.

Can someone list the Make and Model names of some or all of the guitars in this video?
So cool!
Great video!
Great great stuff
How is it that this guy and his stores have all of Johnny's guitars!?
I would kill for one of his guitars!!!!
cool to buy a guitar that you have seen signed personally on video.
WTF!!!! the ESP was the most "famous" guitar of GGD
yes. loved when was yellow. i have the same in red. love it!
My Ovation guitar would love your signature...her name is Olivia...she says HEY to Greta ;)
I’m still not sure how or why he’d sell that ESP. That’s the entire first decade of the band right there
I bought the same ESP in 99 because of him but in candy apple red. still own it and I love it. I would never sell it.
@@trustno_one What's the name of the actual model of ESP that is? I've always loved his old "BOING" sticker yellow ESP too
@@Sokdogg “BOING” is actually that guitar, he just covered it with electrical tape like he said. The model I think is called Vintage Plus.
@@FlyingV555 Thank you so much
How much did the ESP sell for?
Does anybody know the brand of the t-shirt, John ist wearing? Ty =)
What song is that that he plays on the 2nd guitar
+jacob potter And even though the moment passed me by, I still can't turn away' -Name, Goo Goo Dolls.

anybody know what type of guitar he played name with
It’s a Guild.
The guy can sign. It's clear.

Why is he giving those guitars away?!
Good point ??
I believe its called "selling"
Everyone needs some money
Welcome to rela world....
😉
I think it might be for a charity. Sad tho
He uses some really odd tunings. I wonder how many hours of trial and error and different sets of tunings he has gone thru
How much?
So Norm bought these guitars? Or did Johnny just give it away?
I think John sold his guitars to Norm
what is the big k for on the name guitar
Maybe it's just a sticker
It always makes me cringe when I see people defacing a beautiful guitar with a marker pen...
+Charlie P It was his own though for years!
Charlie P Amen. I couldn’t do it to my own guitars!
What does that letters below his signature means?
G G D
Goo Goo Dolls
Thank you brother.
+Bob Corder really???!!! -.-
xD
Bob Corder goo goo dolls

I think he’s trading those in for something REALLY expensive
where's the drummer?
Mike Malinin got fired from the band last 2013 but I'm not sure about the reason why
Nobody listens. It was the Name live guitar for one tour not the studio guitar.
Where's the half-caster
Idk probably at GGD headquarters or Johnny’s house in NY/NJ.
Guitars worth big bucks now
I love Les Paul
"Working man," working at playing 😃🤙
Why are you selling those guitars 😭😭😭
Okay, guys. Do the coke and then we start recording. 5 seconds later...RECORD!!!
Why would he sell all of those guitars? Is he poor now?
for charity and no
Quit lookin at the camera, ya goof. Nobody here to see Norm...
stupid for getting rid of these
Sad that he needed the money so much nowadays to have to sell these guitars... keep writing
