Thank you for the opportunity to hear this remarkable human being. It's a pity this interview was not in multiple parts to hear much more from him - at 85, there may not be many more opportunities for that. His thoughts on the one-state solution are a revelation - inalienable rights trump everything.

I watched this episode when it came out. Thank you very much for interviewing this impressive man.
I came back to this podcast today, April 16, 2024. Just a few days ago Germany’s government banned Mr. Salman Abu Sitta from attending a pro Palestinian conference in Berlin. Not only that, Nancy Faeser’s interior ministry banned this wonderful man from entering the country for an undetermined time. Germany desperately needs to hear voices like his. Instead, it’s politicians smear scholars like him. These politicians don’t know what they are doing.

In the meantime, several international media reported on the incident. The link above leads you to a short press conference with the spokes person of the interior ministry of Germany. Please check it out. Turn on the translation to English (settings button in youtube, then press captions, then english). The interior ministry gave no reason for detaining and/or banning these 3 distinguished gentlemen until today. The spokesperson displays a surreal performance. A must see.?

A solid historical presentation of the Israeli apartheid justifying motives of UNRWA's creation.

Congratulations! Such a necessary interview! I was thinking of doing the same as far away as from Argentina, as there is so little of Salman in RUclips and his work is so important, fundamental! He is definitely a national hero.

"They carved these names out of their life...like 'Zeitounat il Hajj Ali, [translation: the Olives of Hajj Ali]". If that is not a historic biography of a land, nothing is.

Very interesting. And to think that this man was cancelled by the German government. That said, his territorial solution is out of reality. There will have to be a thorough discussion of how the architecture of a one-state solution with equal rights and security for all (indepentently of ethny) should be.

Incredible! Imagine, there is so much vacant land there, ALL the refugees could return easily. But the biggest battle is against supremacy and racism which is driving this insane settler colonialism. I would add, antisemitism (accordingly to how this term is generally understood) has also driven this emigration out of Europe, and into historic Palestine because the Europeans simply did not want Jews living in their midst.

Thank you for these sessions. But I have to say, it is difficult to listen to anything involving israel and the pain they have consistently caused on and to the Palestinians...without having no space in my heart or mind for an israeli!

I was under the impression that the guest in talking about the right of every refugee to return, meant everyone should live in one state with equal rights as long as Zionism is renounced. So I did not really understand how the right of return can be combined with any number of states. Sounds like the bantustans that exist today. Obviously, I did not understand this part.

Hi brothers. I'm here because Dr. Abu Sitter's presentation at the Palestine Conference in Berlin has been shut down, one supposes, by the Berlin Police. So, let's see if they can get the stream back up.

I am afraid that this outrageous repression against a man of Mr. Abu Sitta’s stature will come to haunt the German government officials. Most of Germany’s whole population does not stand behind this pathetic and arbitrary repression.

Abu Sitta to me sounds like Germans who were refugees after the second world war - wanting back land from Poland ... that exists too......maybe that is a little rough comparsion ... but he - probably due to his childhood trauma - does not talk at all about the fact that UN did give land to Palestians and Jews in after the 2. World war and who did attack whom Abu Sitta?

    • @MH-vr4lx

I perceive his trauma did impair his judgement .... which disqualifies him from being an advocate for peace

'so called hostages' his lack of empathy is striking - probably a reason why the German police stopped his virtual appearance at the Berlin summit recently (which to be honest I believe can be argued about .... if that was not also an overreaction)
