The language here also means that that which constituted their principal wealth would come and enrich Jerusalem. The rams of Nebaioth - Nebaioth was also a son of Ishmael Genesis 25:13; 1 Chronicles 1:29, and was the father of the Nabatheans. @1:33:00 The reason why the US wasn't on the Palestinian side early on is because there was never any incentive to be so. If memory serves the Palestinians took up a pro communist stance that indicated they were more willing to align with the Soviet Union. This was not in the interest of the US. Had the Palestinians decided they wanted to be a Jeffersonian style democratic republic and that they were willing to be a partner against the USSR they probably would have seen more US support. The Israeli's understood how to work with the US for support. They knew that if they aligned with the US against the Soviet Union they would get support for their own interests (This is funny because a lot of the early Israeli's were socialists living in communes). I think an interesting counter factual on the entire middle situation is what it would have looked like if the Arab states had aligned with the US side from the beginning. And I'm not talking about people who were installed by outside countries, but if the leaders there actually decided it was in their countries best interest to do so. I wonder if Israel would even exist as a state if that happened or if instead they would just be part of a larger Arab state in a mixed society. I think that's what a realist would say to this.

I read about the unlawful detainment of Professor Shalhoub-Kevorkian in NYT this morning. They linked to this podcast so am bookmarking to listen to later. You can support Palestine without supporting Hamas; likewise, you can support Israel without supporting its current (longstanding) authoritarian government. The importance is that you have the right to express your views, (provided they do not explicitly target others with the intent of harm), without fear of reprimand and loss of freedom. There is also the Hamas talking point- everyone is Hamas, they have elected them, they are everywhere. And Hamas gets a lot of money that they use only for tunnels and smuggling. Hamas wants to kill all jews. They are committing the suicidal attacks, they threaten Israel’s safety. We have to fight , it’s them or us. They are all Muslims and terrorists. A lot of talking points and attacks. I think the fear mongering is the strongest point.

I really appreciate this content and I look forward to the continuation. For some months though, I have thought that this info needs to be presented as a set of well designed infographics (with sources indicated) to reach those who will not sit through a long video and who will not go to the sources themselves. We wish everyone will want to do these things but we know most won't. We need something to cut through the long-standing myths, and effective visual messages might be the way to do that. I don't know who's job this would be, but I hope someone does it.

Hi - I'm going to add one thing, that no one else seems to have thought of. Zionists are always saying how Israel makes Jews safe everywhere. Remember that one? Well, ask any people in Buenos Aires where over 2,200 Jews, far disproportionate to their population, were the "'desaparecidos''', kidnapped, tortured and murdered by the Argentine junta, while Israel stood by, recognized the junta, traded with them, and took no action militarily or diplomatically. The only thing Israel did was to secretly negotiate the release of about 300 prisoners who were granted safe passage to Israel, including Jacobo Timerman, who wrote "Prisoner Without a Name, Cell Without a Number".

This episode fit the bill and offered an excellent discussion of the historical reality vs. Zionist propaganda. Globally, there are fewer Palestinians than Jews. Palestinians only become a larger minority numerically when they are misidentified and grouped with Arabs. Demographically, this notion is incorrect when considering DNA (Bronze age Levantines). Palestinians can be considered a distinct ethnicity due to their genetic makeup. Moreover, Palestinians share more genetic heritage with ancient Israelites from the first century than Ashkenazim Jews from Europe, who constitute about half of the global Jewish population. Thus, Palestinians have a stronger genetic connection to the Promised Land than the ruling elites in Israel and settlers in occupied Palestine. This takes the wind out of Zionisms claims to the land. Except the Religious one. Except in the Old Testament Joshua and all Israel must be pure in heart both ceremonially and spiritually clean before the law before inheriting the land. I assure you according to the Torah no one in Israel, not one Jew on earth is ceremonially clean. This is because the methodology for ceremonial and spiritual cleansing (sin offering for instance) are gone. And therefore the reconquest of the land is invalid. Zionism mixes claims, between spiritual and secular, none of which stand scrutiny.
