This is why I always preach that DDG should leave the fake skits in the past and just doing the lifestyle vlogs and show his life because it will translate to people taking his music more serious.

Labels have resources that independent artists could never even dream of having. Radio connections, streaming platform connections, marketing, playlists, etc. there’s a reason all the top artists renew their deals even when they fulfill their album obligations. They’d never have the same reach without a label backing them. Drake is a prime example. He could go independent and do well but his numbers would suffer and he’d have to deal with a lot more bullshit in terms of politicking and day to day decision making that the labels usually take care of
