  • Anne Heche has died. She's survived by her two sons, Homer and Atlas. The actress was known best for roles in movies, such as 'Six Days Seven Nights' and 'Volcano,' as well as her TV performances, including 'Hung' and 'Chicago P.D.' Anne appeared on season 29 of 'Dancing With the Stars' in 2020, where she opened up about her past romance with Ellen DeGeneres and its lasting impact on Hollywood.

Anne waited in line for a restroom next to me in Vegas. She was so nice and chatted me up, asking what I was doing in Vegas. I told her I was celebrating with 2 friends as all 3 of our birthdays fell within the same week. I asked her what she was up to and she said she was taking some relaxation time with a few friends. Later I ran into her. She recognized me and smiled brightly as she said, "Hey Megan, happy birthday!" She tapped her friend and said "Hey, it's her birthday!" Her friend smiled and also wished me a happy birthday. It was freaking Vince Vaughn! She really could not have been more wonderful. She was just incredibly sweet and relatable and just... I mean I want to say "normal" but she was much better than normal. What a great lady.
I don't know yet what she may have had in her system (in terms of drugs) at the time of the crash, but I would like to ask people to take a minute before condemning her. Or anyone who dies because of substance use/abuse. People use drugs when there are incredibly stressful and/or painful things going on for which they have run out of learned coping skills, naturally developed coping skills and the emotional strength to handle whatever is going on. Additionally, mental illnesses such as depression, PTSD, C-PTSD, anxiety, etc, can magnify someone's specific issues and problems such that they become overwhelmed very quickly compared to how a "normal" person would consider the same set of issues to be manageable. Further, mental illness decreases the effectiveness of coping skills. So when stress or emotional suffering or pain ramps up, the mentally afflicted person has fewer effective coping skills in their wheelhouse.
Drug abusers, the vast majoritiy anyway, are not bad people who deserve ridicule. They are human being just like everyone else. If you have survived trying times in your life without turning to drugs or alcohol, please just be grateful that you had within yourself the life skills and the emotional strength to conquer your problems without resorting to such risky and self-harming behavior to cope. Be grateful, yes, but also be PROUD of your abilities and knowledge and skills and resourcefulness. Not everyone can manage as well as you when they're hurting. For the 3rd time, BE GRATEFUL YOU PULLED THROUGH. Please do not use your success to look down upon those who are without such impressive resilience.
Anne Heche was an organ donor. I realize many parts of her body were devastatingly damaged given her injuries, but what matters to me is that she agreed to donate as many viable organs and tissue as she possibly could.
My younger brother passed suddenly and unexpectedly at age 34. I loved my brother so much. He was a WONDERFUL, successful, happy, kind, generous, smart, funny, loyal, helpful, hard-working, reliable, trustworthy, supportive, friendly, optimistic, faithful, respectful person with an all too rare ability to forgive people. His donated organs and tissue were directly responsible for saving the lives of FOUR different people. His donations also helped another 14 people improve their quality of life utilizing his donated skin, bone, muscle, cartilage, corneas, etc.
If you are not an organ donor, please consider researching the subject. You may not have seen enough evidence to make an informed decision.
My deepest condolences to Anne's family. I am so sorry for the pain you're in. I wish I could help you. Honor her by being kind to others and having compassion for people less fortunate. Treat all people with dignity and respect. Anne didn't look down upon anyone. If you ever catch yourself doing that, please remember Anne's shining personality and stop it.
My brother, I am so proud of your decision to be an ORGAN DONOR. I'm so proud to be the sister of a man who has actually saved 4 human lives by choosing to selflessly offer up any parts of his body that he no longer needed.
Anne Heche, thank you for being an organ donor. ❤

Rest of ppl in recovery can get healthy new friends yet in Hollywood temp is everywhere. Truly hard to know who is not plastic or a really good friend with no agenda in her craft in Hollywood. Heck I thought Ellen was kind & Dr Oz cared. Clueless what a Mini Coop could do, always called them a clown car but no clown car could keep on ticking after hitting so much yet no ppl! She could afford therapy or Betty Ford.

How beautiful was that gesture, and honestly when does something like that happen in our lives; even on a small scale? Not hardly. She was an intuitive, giving woman. I’m sure there are many, many times she has displayed such kindness. Her sons and sister will now become aware of more of the beauty she possessed. Rest in Heaven, Anne, your anxiety is no longer. 🦋✝️❤️🙏🏼

Now I’m parentless the void and hole is severely deep. 😔😢😔 This is so sad all around, I feel for her children for the woman and her pets who’s property were damaged in this horrible incident. I feel deeply sad for her children and other loved ones. I first seen Ann Heche, in volcano as a child of the nineties amongst some other roles it’s a favorite of mind. She was suffering too much. It bothered me. I’ve been anxious all week. Knowing she has died has brought me peace. I, like most here, found compassion for Anne. I never followed her career. I don’t follow anyone’s career. It took this moment in time for me to notice her. Perhaps, she was hiding. Working, yet dealing with her “demons” and inability to cope. We’ve all had such moments. For Anne, it seems like it was everyday. The vision of her driving at incredibly high speed told me she was fearless, at the moment. Then, again, we will never know. I hope this heightens everyone’s awareness of what drugs can do to a person. This is a very unfortunate day for her family and her friends. I share in this misfortune. It is heartbreaking to know someone was suffering so much inside. She was only 53 years old. Her childhood trauma must have been off the charts. Rest Anne. You are not in pain anymore. You are beautiful.

I prayed that God allow her to live but only that she would heal completely in mind body and soul and not suffer humiliation and hate or to take her if he feels she shouldn't suffer that way unless it is his plan for a reason but he took her and I too was glad because I was worried she would be suffeing, scarred and hated on.
I was still sad she passed of course. She was a human being that matter like anyone else and she was very special, pretty and an angel in so many ways. May she be with God now and in peace. :(

Yes you can feel compassion for the homeowner who lost her possessions, but that doesn't mean you can't also feel sympathy for a woman who was severely injured, and who died from those injuries. If you ask any doctor, or medical professional they will tell you burns are by far the most painful injury of all. Whatever she did wrong, she certainly paid the ultimate price. My god just a week ago TODAY she wakes up, leaves her house and never ever would one imagine such tragic events would take place. However that’s how it happens. There has been very little mercy from the ‘religious’ right in these postings on Anne Heche since her accident. A Bible verse was sent to me saying I was going to hell for not mentioning the lady from the house. A third of the comments are from people who only care about that lady whose house was the victim. In the meantime that lady who miraculously survived has over 100,000$ in a go fund me account. What a effed up world we live in.

Luckily she didnt take unwanted passengers to heaven with her or wherever they r going? Didnt know a Mini Coop could go that fast or even drive thru into a house after shrubs slowed down the Coop plus she hit another building prior but alas not good advertising for what a MINI COOP can do! Good Neighbor who saved homeowner & her 2 cats as Coop started on fire. Sentimental things & Anne r gone but why? Anne couldve easily hit kids playing on the st? Why werent they able to take her keys at 1st accident? Thought she'd live, maybe brain bleed?

    Unpopular opinion-
She's lucky she didn't hurt anyone else and only cost her own life and someone else's worldly possessions.
I understand depression and addiction very well- way too well. It does not excuse that she chose to outwardly express her sadness by recklessly and carelessly careening down the road with a two ton death machine.
I do feel immense sympathy and sadness for her sons. They chose nothing of what happened and I hope they will grieve and heal in peace.
