bought the kit and now have used it twice and love the results, but gonna lie if i tell you i made no mistakes. it seems like a few shims were wrong here and there and noticed it when using a level across shims after i was done. i believe its from the laser being to close because in both bathrooms i had to set up the laser in the shower itself because the knee wall would have blocked it if i set it up outside the shower. when the laser is close and up against the wall, i think you get some inconsistencies but nothing i couldn't fix. so where your 3ft boards meet horizontally, are you just using one washer and screw to join both together? i ask because if not using one screw to joint two boards, one shim isnt long enough , so i have been doubling up my shims where the two boards meet.

Frank, The shims are 2.5 inches long which was done to accommodate 2 washers at a seam. (when allowed by the wall board manufacturer) Doubling up on the shims at the seams can't hurt, and if it helps you - all the better.
