It's not odd. Heavier mug for Coffee and thinner cup for tea. Nice to see you drinking Tim's. ❤ 🇨🇦 That sweater is so so pretty and looks so cozy on you. Desperate to learn how to make socks.
Yes, tea and coffee does taste differntly from different cups or mugs. I want a round pottery mug for my tea, and a taller cup for coffe. No plastic, no cardboard😂 So nice to see you wearing the Caramel cardigan, it's still on my to-knit-list.
My Nan and Grumps were from England. They used to put the milk first into the tea cups. I don’t still follow the milk first, but a good cuppa tea does come in a proper tea cup. Coffee and cocoa in a mug to keep the heat in.
I have one big mug I like for coffee and another pottery mug I like for tea and mostly just use those two. I have lots of others but these are just right 👍🏼. I’m loving the colours of your advents and your projects are looking lovely, especially the green and chestnut sock, really pretty. Glad to hear you didn’t blow away,we had some snow but now it’s all rained away, I’d love to have a white Christmas, we haven’t had one in a long time. Muddy Christmases are depressing. 🙋🏼♀️
I have a particular cup/mug for different times of the day. Same one for breakfast every day, another one for lunchtime every day, then one for teatime and another one for bedtime. I always make my tea in a teapot, I just cant stand the sight of a teabag in a cup or mug. Anyone else use a teapot anymore? My sister doesn't use a teapot .but when I go to her house and she offers me tea I say yes, but in a teapot please.😂
80% of the time I do use a tea pot, however at work or justneeding a cuppa in the evening the bag will do. But the tea from the pot do taste way nicer.
I totally agree on the mugs Kate china for tea and pottery for coffee. I was picking up Christmas tea in SD bells and they had a tea mug made for them which is just perfect. Oh and when watching your baking we call wee buns sponge buns. Not very original 😂
Kate, I too like my tea in a more delicate cup and my coffee in a mug. Is it because tea is a more refined drink? I am enjoying your Vlogmas very much. It has been wonderful to catch up with you! Leisa
there has to be something behind the psychology of drinking out of certain vessels - its absolutely ridiculous how important the right mug is for me!!! lol!
definitely not odd.... their has to be something behind it - I suspect it is all around the fact that coffee has a feeling of sustenance and tea a refreshing feel. Personally i'm one step further and have specific mugs for my standard tea and green tea but in my defence I try to make each cup of my chosen beverage a mini magical moment 😜
I get the mug by beverage requirements. I can't stand drinking coffee out of a paper cup, so always bring my own if I think there's a chance I will be asked to do so 🙂
Oh Kate, I’m so glad I’ve found you! Been catching up since Day 1 and enjoying every bit of your Vlogs. Tim Horton doughnuts 🍩 in Northern Ireland? Thought it was only Canada. 🇨🇦 I love virtual traveling! And I do the same as you…pottery mug for coffee, porcelain for tea. Nothing odd about it at all. ☺️Btw..in your ending flick did you know Sandra Bullock grew up in Germany and speaks it fluently? Her mother was an opera singer.
I totally agree, Kate. At home I must drink tea from a china mug with a really fine lip, and coffee from a thicker pottery style mug. Don't start me on my coffee choice. As I've got older I am sooo fussy about coffee; and I'm snooty about tea bags now. I much prefer loose leaf tea. I'm such a snob. Thanks for another beautiful episode. What am I going to do in January? Your vlog has quickly become a treasured part of my morning here in Australia
Wait What!!!! You have Timmy's in Ireland!!!! I knew there were a few outside of Canada in the US just south of the border and there was one for the military on the Kandahar Airbase in Iraq....but Ireland? I had no idea....
Again on the subject of tea, a little rhyme came to mind: Lisnaskea for drinking tay, Maguiresbridge for brandy, Lisbellaw for whopping straw but Enniskillen's the dandy
I'm so there with you, Kate, on what type of mug I drink my hot drinks from. I also will add on top of tea & coffee, I prefer my herbal teas in glass mugs. I'd live a mug with my name on. Do you have a company you would recommend? Thanks for doing vlogmas again. I always look forward to watching them every year ❤
I can't stand drinking tea out of those paper cups. It just alters the flavor too much. But my tea mugs are on the heavier side (I don't drink coffee though). I like the David's tea mugs. (the big half-litre ones). I buy them whenever they go on sale (sometimes Indigo here has the same style as well).
Absolutely agree with you on coffee being for a heavier mug while tea is for a lighter cup. That’s just an unstated law! 😂
It's not odd. Heavier mug
for Coffee and thinner cup for tea. Nice to see you drinking Tim's. ❤ 🇨🇦
That sweater is so so pretty and looks so cozy on you.
Desperate to learn how to make socks.
I thought I was odd for preferring my coffee and tea in separate types of mugs. Glad to see I'm in good company. 😅
Oh yes, tea in fine bone china mugs and coffee in heavier mugs. I also have an aversion to hot drinks in glass mugs. Glass is for cold drinks.
Most definitely different mugs for different drinks and different times of the day and you better not get it wrong dear hubby!!!!
Yes, heavy pottery mug for coffee and a china like cup for tea or hot chocolate!🎄👏👏😁
love your cardigan. Your pin finished it off nicely. I think this will be another on my list!
Absolutely agree with you on tea & the best cup to use!❤❤
100% agree about the mug snobbery.
🎄🎄🎄😺😺😺
Ooh that sock set today is amazing!! ❤
Agree with you on the coffee and tea mugs!!
Yes different mug for different for my tea!

Yep a china cup's yer only man for the tay and pottery for the coffee. Thanks again for a lovely vlogmas.

Hi Kate...I am with you on the mugs. Heavy for coffee and light china for tea otherwise it just seems wrong and it tastes wrong as well.
Ditto on the tea and coffee mug separation.
I thought my mug preference was just me! I’m enjoying your vlogmas’ very much ❤

I’ll use a teapot if you ever come here! just have to dust it off first!🤣

I love loose leaf tea as well!
I remember that sweater you and Selma made,,,🎉🎉
ELAINE 🏡💕
Love your caramel cardigan, just need to make one for myself hugs

I agree with you…..I have different mugs for coffee and tea… they taste wrong if they’re in the wrong mug 😂
I agree with the mugs! Also I like to only drink tea out of a mug that is white inside but don’t care what colour a coffee mug is! 😂

I didn't know that you had Tim Hortons in Ireland! I love a double double coffee ☕️ in a mug
I get the mug by beverage requirements. I can't stand drinking coffee out of a paper cup, so always bring my own if I think there's a chance I will be asked to do so 🙂

love it! I haven’t heard that before!
@@HawthornCottageCraft Glad you like it. You sometimes hear it with other placenames. 🏵
Know exactly what you mean about the mugs. 😂
For coffee vs tea vessels I use whatever’s clean. If you have a choice your house is too clean! 🤣
or I have too many mugs!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm so there with you, Kate, on what type of mug I drink my hot drinks from.

the mug with my name on is from Emma Bridgewater 🙂
Thank you ❤@@HawthornCottageCraft
Mugs matter❤

Thank you for the sock toe recipe Kate, I'll try on my current pair!
I didn't know you had Timmies over there ;) Donna
I love Tim Horton’s steeped tea. Do you get it there? 🇨🇦
Just in store🙂
