To be honest, the Season 9 Tell All was a huge let down. It seems like all the women were softballed and Jabber Jaw (Spawkles) was too busy trying to make himself the center of the show, promoting himself with his wife in Blackface. The common denominator of the Season 9 is that it didn't matter if the woman was foreign nor American: the guy is always forced to bend. Nobody addressed that pattern. Nobody addressed how when Kara got her man to the states, she just did a 180 being vindictive the whole time. Nobody addressed how Kobe's wife was being emotionally abusive and dismissive, especially with the manure shoveling scene. And Ari did deserve the wine to the face. She forgot where she stood. When you're in another person's country, it's best not to ruffle feathers. People forget Bini's sisters raised him, so they are legitimately concerned. Mohamed is just crazy funny (no real range of emotion). Couldn't stand Yve's friend in the Tell All.
But you Shaeeda, you fall in the same category. There were things that raised eyebrows to my earlier criticism. In America, you are just the Stepmom. When you tried to get Bilal's children to call you mom, it doesn't matter if it's your culture where you are from. I don't know what it is about foreign people thinking Americans on their own land must adapt to ones culture as if we are living in their country. This is our home. On top of that, talking to the kids like that is manipulative to try to gain a psychological advantage. If I were Bilal and I found out you did that, I would have heavily reprimanded you.
Finally, even though it's old news, the prenup was not an attack. You seem to forget that you were trying to enter an already established, pre-made family. It's only natural for a man to protect what he already accumulated through his own blood, sweat and tears. You should have recognized that from his perspective and place yourself in his shoes and see things from his eyes. It's not like you both started from ground zero building a house together. You entered an already made home. And there was no need for any stipulations as a retort. Your friends back home came off as "take him for what he got gurl" like many others do, because he's not viewed as a High Value Man. He's viewed as a High Value Target. And when you say Bilal is lecturing, he's not. He's an intelligent brotha. It could be a lot worst. Just turn on the news and count your blessings that you found a man that loves and cherishes you. Relationships today are too much about getting over on another. If you want to a life, do your darnest not to break this one, because you wont find another in today's dating market period. TRUE marriage overall is growing to become an endangered species.
P.S. Saying that a man is "mansplaining" is a feminist talking point and an insult. Please do not fall into the feminism trap. That will definitely break the marriage. Overall, best of wishes.
