Adding Collectible Items! // C++ Game Devlog #8
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 28 июн 2024
- In this game devlog, I rethink the fundamental premise of my game, add collectible items and add some new sound effects. This is part of a lifelong dream I've had of making an entire video game from scratch in C++ by myself.
This video looks at the following topics:
- Asset modelling in Blender
- Sound effects
- Game engine programming
- Game development with C++
As of the recording of this video, the game is under the working title of "Cereal Adventure." It's an indie game in which a sentient cereal box must navigate a dangerous 2.5D world in order to beat out his breakfast competitors.
More videos are planned and on the way! Subscribe so you don't miss out.

Giving it a new and interesting direction. I really like it. Looking for ward to the next video... right now.
New Upload! This series is surprisingly enjoyable to watch, good job!
That's the goal! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching ✌
This is the first time I'm checking back on your game since devlog 5. It's nice to see that you are making progress! You've made surprisingly large amount of progress in just 6 months. Your project motivated me to get into OpenGL about 9-10 months ago and I ended up really enjoying OpenGL development! I love your videos man, and I can't wait to see what you do next. Cheers!
I haven't had much time in the past 6 months to work on the game unfortunately, so it WOULD have been a lot more progress but I'm pursuing it a lot more seriously now! I'm really glad to hear that my videos motivated you, that's actually one of the goals I set out for this channel and it's great to hear that you're enjoying OpenGL. Thanks for watching!
Excellent devlog! The books for story is an interesting idea and the sounds are fantastic!
Glad you liked it! The real question now is can I write a good story haha...
The game looks really really interesting. I like concept of the game plus the style of the game art is really good. Those soundfx goes really well with game. Keep it up. :)
Thanks! It's a work in progress of course, but I'm glad you like it
oooh the new direction sounds neat, can hardly wait to see how it develops down the line
Glad you think so! Thanks for watching ✌
Great video!

Amazing
Thank you!
Yes! Feed me more !
I'll try my best lol... Thanks for watching!
those damage sounds make me feel warm and fuzzy inside 👉👈 ☺️
amog us when the imposter is sus suuuu among us sus the impoter sussuss ? !???
It will be creepy if you will dose that all. Also I am learning the game lore and design so I want to say that you can make it pretty damn dark without changing the visual style of the game but adding a dark and fully secret lore 😉
Haha creepy is kind of what I'm going for, but we'll see... I'm not 100% where this will end up but definitely the lore of the game will contribute to its overall mood. Thanks for watching!
@@AngeTheGreat I am waiting for your game to release😀
1:19 I hate these overlays so much in every game that has them, please just add a health bar
Huh I was under the impression that health bars were sort of outdated these days and people preferred overlays, but maybe not
