- Just before midnight on August 18th, 2023, Seattle Fire responded to a kitchen fire in north Seattle. I had just fallen asleep, but the sirens woke me up so I threw on some clothes and went out to see what I could catch.
A lot of the units came up through Ballard a different way, but I was excited to catch Engine 16's new rig, Rehab 1 going code, and Rescue 1! Big misses were Air 26 and Air 260, which went the other way.
What looks like a second fire is a fog/smoke machine one of the neighbors recently (?) added to his spooky reaper decoration, which has been up since last Halloween. We've named it "Greg."
Clip listing:
0:00 - Staff 10 responding
0:09 - Safety 2, Deputy 1, Aid 25 (I think) and Medic 44 responding
0:36 - Seattle Police responding
0:49 - Rescue 1 responding
1:11 - Medic 31 and Engine 16 responding
1:38 - Rehab 1 responding
1:55 - Outro
Outro music: Demilitarized Zone by Ethan Meixsell, via the RUclips audio library. - Авто/Мото
Nice catches! Knew you’d get this response, I saw it on SFD live and saw that it was in Ballard, so I knew you’d get this response.
Thanks! I almost slept through it, so you might be putting too much faith in me 😂
Thank you for the Greg explanation lol I had noticed it and wondered what was goin on there haha
Lol, you're welcome! It was startling to see for me too - I might have called it in except it was obviously coming from Greg, and it turned all the way off for a few minutes before turning back on.
Great catches!
Thank you!
Cool night shots Lucas.
Thanks Jeff!
Nices man !
Thanks Pete!
Nice catches! I really couldn't get the units because the traffic cam near Station 35 was at a bad angle
Hi Architect
@@SeattleResponses hello
Thank you! Yeah, that particular camera always seems to be facing the wrong way...
Great video!
I'm wondering: With all that smoke coming from Greg, have there been any responses because of a reported fire at this place? 😂
😂 Good question! No Greg related fire calls yet, but this was also the first time I'd seen the smoke so it might just be a matter of time...
What type of call was this response for ?
This was for a kitchen fire in a four-plex.
SPD's old Motorola sirens were so much better and Aid 25 was pretty far from home lol
I disagree with the SPD siren part, I enjoy the newer ones. Makes it more unique, and it feels fitting for SPD.
It sucks the ASTRO spectras are discontinued. They were actually interesting, unlike whelens.
